Idecabtagene vicleucel (applies to Abecma) infection

Major Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Infection - Bacterial/Fungal/Protozoal/Viral

Idecabtagene vicleucel should not be administered to patients with active infection or inflammatory disorders. Signs and symptoms of infection should be monitored before and during treatment. Additionally, screening for cytomegalovirus infection (CMV), hepatitis B and C and HIV should be performed before treatment initiation. Viral reactivation of CMV and hepatitis has been reported, in some cases with fatal outcomes. Consider antiviral therapy to prevent viral reactivation.

Moderate Potential Hazard, Moderate plausibility. Applicable conditions: Renal Dysfunction, Liver Disease

Idecabtagene vicleucel has not been studied in patients with renal or hepatic impairment. Caution is advised.
