"I started taking Restoril last night. I slept a full 8 hrs. I woke up feeling refreshed. Aside from the fact that I made a few phone calls in my sleep, I loved it. And it works quickly. I fell asleep in like 20 minutes, great+. Hope this helps."

"I'm updating my review below from March 2. It's now April 21 2018. I'm 45 yr old female that was always a light sleeper but good sleeper until 2 yrs ago with physical symptoms that would wake or keep me up. I've taken 1-2 per week in conjunction with Advil PM on other nights (works!) and nothing 1-2 nights per week. I like Restoril. I take 15 mg. It absolutely helps. I have preexisting tinnitus for over a year and when I sleep it quiets it down a bit. I take it when I can sleep in and have no major plans before noon. This is a great supplemental drug that I will not take 2 days in a row. But once a week - maybe twice at the most."

"I’ve been on this for almost 10 years (30 mg) for bipolar sleep disorder and I haven’t had to change it the whole time. It’s totally changed the way I sleep, and now I never miss a night. I did take olanzapine for about a year, but I had to stop because it messed with my blood sugar. And after that, it seemed like the temazepam didn’t work as well. Or maybe I’m still withdrawing from the olanzapine. But I’ve always really liked temazepam."

"Slept really good. Didn't wake up once. Usually get up about four times to go to the bathroom and get comfortable. First time to use last night. Had a hangover and had to sleep more. Will try again tonight. Usually takes me two hours to go to sleep but not last night...thank goodness."

"I used 7.5 mg for over 10 years without any problems. When I was 84 years old I went to my doctor for my regular checkup and at that time he told me he could not prescribe sleeping pills anymore because after a person is over 80 the medical industry has stopped the practice. I had been using sleeping pills for 40 years due to depression and told me to go to a sleep clinic. It took me sixty days to get an appointment with the sleep clinic. Then for 60 days I did not sleep and when I got to the sleep clinic I was told he would not give me any heave hitter, as he put it. After a year and 4 months, I finally convinced him to give me 10 mg of Zolpidem which I cut down to 7.5 but after 2 weeks they stopped working and then I went to 10 mg and after 2 or 3 nights they stopped working. I never had a side effect from any sleeping pill in my life. My memory is about half of what it was when I was sleeping well. So what do I do now? I want to try 10mg of Temazepam. 7.5 would not work."

"I took this medicine for the first time last night I had been using Seroquel but I had so many side effects that I had to stop using it. Although it was the first night I used it I could only sleep for two hours at a time after waking up several times I am finally wide-awake at 3:20 in the morning I ended up taking klonapin because I have a very busy day at work and I need my sleep I was on 15 mg of restoril. I will call my doctor this morning and see if she determines I need a higher dose"

"I absolutely love this drug. I was on two 0.5mg Clonazepam but the conversion from 1 mg Clonazepam is Restoril 30 mg. The only reason my doctor wouldn’t prescribe me a sleeping pill is because I was on Clonazepam. I went off of my other medication and switched to Restoril. I thought I would have Panic Attacks and GAD but nothing like that happened. I highly recommend this drug to anyone whom suffers from insomnia, PAs or GAD. 10+"

"I’m a 45 yr old female. Have been having insomnia for 2 years due to What I think are MS type symptoms. Physically so uncomfortable. I hate drugs and refuse them. I’ve been sitting on this bottle for months. Last night I gave the 15 mg a try. I actually spilled out a little from the capsule. So maybe it was 10mg. Ummmm I slept. Like I haven’t for years! Dreams! Like going wayyyy back type dreams. Slept 7-9 hrs. Woke up feeling so so. I’m sick now and have been having major daily fatigue for 6 months so didn’t wake up perky. Then I felt a bit nauseous at lunch Then I started feeling very very very agitated. Like uncontrolled. I will save this bottle and try again when I’m over this virus. And see if I feel the same anger over nothing. I know it’s not much of a review. But man did I SLEEP! The instructions on my bottle is As Needed. So it’s not to be a daily thing. Back to magnesium spray. "

"I have been taking Restoril for 2 weeks now with no help. I stay up all night and when I do finally fall asleep I get up about every hour. I don't have any side effects from it. I have also tried Ambien, I think it was better but it lost its effect quickly."

"Due to major anxiety and stress can't sleep before 6-7:30am was put on anti-anxiety pill and Restoril today. The anti-anxiety pill kicked in fast and made me kinda drowsy but the Restoril 30mg I just took 45 min ago doesn't seem to be kicking in. Should I take another? I do drink ale here and there but that should increase my effect not stop it right? Maybe I should get used to Vampire hours!! This sucks lol"

"I have been taking Restoril for about a year and I'm taking 2 30mg at night, and it did work for the first 5 years, but after trying everything else I can't complain. I have a very hard time staying asleep so for me I don't mind the "hangover" feeling when I wake up because sometimes that allows me to go back to sleep. So in short - nice medication."

"Although I try to avoid sleep medication, Restoril works fabulous as my "last resort" when I've been tossing and turning for hours and sleep will not come. Thankfully it's not often, usually Midnite Melatonin is my first choice if I'm not tired, If I take it and it doesn’t work then I go to the restaurant. Works every time even if I have anxiety about not sleeping."

"This stuff is absolutely worthless. I took TWO of them (30 mg) in desperation when I went to bed at 10:00 p.m. It is now 3:20 a.m and I am still wide awake. I don't dare mix anything else with it but this medicine wouldn't help a squirrel to snooze. Don't even bother."

"Sometimes I do not fall asleep for hours. Usually out in about an hour. I never sleep for more than 4-5 hours. I admit I do sleep a bit longer when I take it but not by much. I have been using Restoril for over a year."

"I have in the last taken, Sonata, Lunesta, now Restoril. Restoril is the least effective of the drug I have taken. I take it when I get in bed and I never fall asleep. It is as if I have not taken anything. Doubling the dose makes no difference. With Sonata I would take 2 and fall asleep for at most 3 hours. Lunesta works great at its highest dose but I tend to sleep too long on it (more than 8 hours at times). Restoril just does not work for me at all. As with anything, these drugs react differently with different people. I have not tried Ambien."

"Tried first time low dose 7.5 mg, never went to sleep, but sure rested comfortably without fidgeting from anxiety. Tried 15mg second time, slept 3 hours (first sleep in 5 days) and woke up to panic attack. Could not even rest comfortably for rest of interminable night. It’s me, not the drug."

"I was taking lorazapam for a number of years. It didn't help me fall asleep quickly but slept 6 or 7 hours. Now I am taking Restoril 15 mg. I get to sleep quick for about 5 hours then not so much. I'd rather be back on lorazapam (1 mg)."

"I have been on Temazapam now for 25 years and while it is the best sleep med it also has consequences. It will shut down the production of brain chemicals like GABA which cause you not to sleep. It comes with a warning not use it for more than 12 days for a reason. It will cause you not to sleep at all and you build up a tolerance to it and won't be effective after years of use. I suggest like the manufacturer does not to use it for more than several weeks as it causes other problems as well."

"I started taking this nightly about 5 years ago and I have to say I am surprised at all the positive reviews of this medication. Yes, it did help my insomnia greatly but I feel that recently I have developed a tolerance to it and want to get off of it permanently but am having a really hard time doing it. The sleep deprivation has been really rough. I have lost my ability to fall and stay asleep naturally and I blame it on this medication, perhaps that's not fair I know. My doctor doesn't seem concerned at all about my dependence and I find very little information about withdrawing from this medication on the benzo bulletin boards. It almost seems like it's not taken seriously enough, that it's a "mild" sleep aid and that I shouldn't be too worried about trying to get off of it. My doctor doesn't seem to think it's a big step to switch from 30mg, my usual dose, down to the next dosage of 22.5 but it's really really HARD. I don't want to take this anymore!!"

"Restoril was a 5 star mild sleeping pill when Mylan made it. None of the current generic Restorils are worth taking. Estazolam is a far second in terms of effectiveness & no side effects, but in no way is it as good as the Mylan. The good reviews that I saw all appear to be before Mylan discontinued generic Restoril . The others are not good and seem to only provide side effects, not sleep."

"I’ve struggled with sleep for as long as I can remember, sometimes not too bad, and sometimes very bad. I was extremely hesitant on taking this, because I’ve never taken any kind of benzodiazepine before, and I was well aware that they are a very dark and destructive drug. After exhausting every option including CBT, I finally gave up and got some 15mg pills. First night I took 1 as directed and nothing. Second night I took 2 and nothing. Third night I took 3 and noticed that it did calm my mind a bit (maybe 50%), which felt amazing since I have 5 different thoughts consisting of 5 different emotions flowing through my head at all times 24/7. It didn’t help me sleep because I woke up 2 hours after falling asleep right to the same old racing thoughts that keep me up at night. I threw the rest away after my little experiment since I have no interest in taking 45+mg every night and then taking more every time I wake up throughout night. Absolutely not"

"My doctor gave me the 15 mg to try over this past weekend. I have lots of pain, and it keeps me awake. 15 mg really didn't help me fall asleep, but I took the 2 other pills that I was trying to get away from about 3AM, then I slept until 11AM. This happened 2 days in a row. 3 night I took two 15 mg pills, and it still took forever to get to sleep, but I did get there, and was up at 8AM. I'm going to take them early tonight, and see how it goes. I only had 10 to try. Maybe like some reviews I read I need a kicker of some kind."

"As a chronic insomniac I have trouble not only getting to sleep but staying asleep. Temazepam works wonderfully: 7-8 hours of blissful sleep. There are no side-effects that I have noticed."
