Zoloft (sertraline) for Depression "I have anxiety and depression. I was really against taking medication so I tried to resolve my issues myself. Needless to say, it never worked. I had been going through periods of depersonalization, feeling extremely down, suicidal and hopeless. I really thought life wasn't worth living anymore. It got so bad that I ended up in the hospital. I started taking 50 mg Zoloft and honestly it has been a life changer. I don't experience depersonalization anymore. My mood has been lifted so much that I don't feel down anymore, suicidal or hopeless. If you're afraid to take medicines please just give it a try. You won't regret it. Celexa didn't work for me, but I was determined to find a medicine that would. The key is to be patient."

For Anxiety and Stress "I could do a commercial for this medication. It has completely turned everything around for me. I have always had anxiety, but it became significantly worse after having children. I feared being alone, ruminating thoughts, insomnia, panic over the insomnia, feeling like the worst mother, feeling like I couldn't care for myself or my children. I fought taking medication for so long. I finally gave in. I started with 25 mg and moved up to 50 mg. I began to feel better in a week, and I felt the full effects by 4 weeks. It has given me my life back. I'm happy. I'm not stressed. I feel normal again!"

Zoloft (sertraline) for Major Depressive Disorder "This was me at the start of my Zoloft journey desperately reading reviews. I promised myself that if this medication worked then I would come back and leave a review. I was struggling with major depression where I didn't leave the house, stopped socializing, and leading a normal life. Zoloft gave me my life back. Most importantly I do want to mention that you have to wait a good 3-4 weeks to see significant results so please do not give up early. If Zoloft can bring me back from the depths of depression it can definitely help you. I also struggled with anxiety and panic attacks and this medication works amazingly for that too. If your reading this and feel like you can't lead a normal life because your depression is stopping you... I'm begging you to please give it a try. You deserve to be happy in the end :)"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I started suffering from anxiety in my teens. I am now 54 and managed to have a good life and hold down a good job. But when I got into my 50s, it became really difficult to deal with and I was forced to seek help about 18 months ago. My doctor prescribed me 50mg of sertraline. I was in a right mess and struggling to function. But after about 6 weeks, I went out for a meal with my wife and realized I had felt slightly better and my mind was a bit quieter. And that was the first glimmer of hope. I went back to the doctor and he increased it to 100mg. And the better days increased. I would say I was 75%. Then the doctor asked me if I wanted to try 150mg. I did and this is where I am now, and I would say I am 90% and I am really enjoying life. I would sit on the edge of my bed every night reading these reviews and tried to get some hope and promised myself that when I was better, I would leave a review to give others hope. Don't give up, take the medication and try to stay busy. Sertraline works!"

For Anxiety and Stress "Hi all..I’m on week 5 of sertraline 50mg and I think I’ve had every side effect which has been horrendous - but most disappeared after 2 weeks. I still have dreadful morning anxiety, a cough that comes and goes and ringing in my ear but all manageable. That’s the negative part....On a positive note I haven’t had a panic attack since starting this medication and my mood swings are loads better I hear myself laugh more, I’m keeping everything crossed that I will see more improvement with the anxiety. I have never suffered with anything like this till 7 months ago and I refused medication thinking it will pass (it don’t) If you can get passed the first few weeks you will start seeing positive changes. I still have a few bad days but nothing like it was without the medication..good luck all starting"

For Anxiety and Stress "I started on sertraline 2 months ago. I was started on 25mg for 1 week, then 50mg. I have really bad anxiety that when I leave the house, I'm having panic attacks. I can't walk anywhere by myself; I'm that bad. I have felt a little bit better, but now I have gone up to 100mg and hoping this will help me to feel normal again. This website is the reason I'm sticking with it."

For Anxiety and Stress "I wanted to take the time to write a review, as reading all those already on this site got me through the first 6 weeks of taking sertraline. I experienced every side effect possible and felt so low I ended up in hospital after a few days of taking them. However, I'm now on week 8, and my life is transformed. My anxiety/depression has pretty much gone, and I can go about my life as normal. My advice - STICK WITH IT, it does get better. Reach out and use the support of your friends and family if you struggle initially."

For Anxiety and Stress "4 weeks ago I switched to setraline 50mg as my other medication stopped working I was on lexpro for 6 years which changed my life! I found sertraline has really helped with my anxiety/depression and I'm finding my daily living being a busy mam of 3, carer for my husband and a dog mam a lot more enjoyable. I am increasing today onto 100mg of sertraline as this increase is needed to suit me. I found the first 2 weeks starting sertraline heightened my anxiety and depression which xanax helped ease the heightened anxiety for the 2 weeks, but I held on and I am glad I did I hope this helps someone else."

For Anxiety and Stress "Hi everyone, I feel compelled to write a review for this medication because of how much it has helped me and how scared I was to take it. Like many people with anxiety, I was TERRIFIED to try medication, but I knew my anxiety was out of control. I was at a point where I couldn't grocery shop or attend any social gatherings without severe anxiety. The first 2 weeks were hell. I couldn't get out of bed, washing my hair felt like the hardest task in the world. My anxiety got so much worse in the beginning. I even had scary intrusive thoughts. My partner stayed with me the whole time and was so supportive, which helped tremendously. After two weeks, I started to notice a difference. The side effects went away and I was less anxious. I am now on week 4 and I have no side effects, and my anxiety is gone. I can grocery shop, go to social gatherings, and live my life in peace. For anyone who is going through the tough bits…I have been where you have been. Keep pushing. It works."

For Anxiety and Stress "Long story short anxiety took over my life overnight. I was expediting looping thoughts, negative anxiety causing ones. I am big on organic food/natural remedies etc. I don't even like cold medicine so I went 3 months battling daily attacks. Finally I couldn't take it anymore, Dr. prescribed clonazepam & sertraline. It did take the full 5 weeks for me, but I got control of my thoughts right away, with in days! Amazing! I lost weight on this, but my appetite has now returned. I feel great! Totally normal, 8 weeks in & forgot I ever had anxiety in the first place. I feel 100% normal. I wish I would have gone to the doctor sooner. Hang in there, you can beat this!"

Zoloft (sertraline) for Social Anxiety Disorder "33 y/o female, 5'5, 125lbs, 200mg/day, 1 1/2 years and will continue indefinitely. Pros: social anxiety gone. Unbelievable. Able to start spontaneous conversations with "strangers", now able to develop and share deep, intimate friendships. Not hyper self conscious anymore. I joke around and enjoy making people laugh. Sexually uninhibited (with my husband)- seriously, the best sex I've ever had, I'm not self conscious at all anymore and I have no problems with orgasm- actually the opposite (best. ever.) Weight loss, 25-30lbs, and I feel light, energetic and happy with my body now. Food! I used to be a horribly picky eater my entire life, now I try new foods without a second thought and enjoy them! Zoloft has changed my life."

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Just a few weeks ago I was reading all these reviews in tears. I am a 36 yr old mother of two & suddenly I started having panic attacks. I was so scared to start taking Zoloft because I thought it would "change" me, or make me feel "off." This was SO not the case! I tried everything natural I could first-- but I was still having anxiety regularly. I was also having negative thoughts that I could not stop, I would have to actively try not to think about certain things, and I really struggled with that. I have been on Zoloft about 2 weeks and all of that has stopped! I feel happy! I didn't even realize I had been in a funk, I feel so so SO much better now. To anyone reading this, you're not alone, it can and will get better!"

Zoloft (sertraline) for Depression "Surprisingly, positive effects from Zoloft started the next morning after taking my first 25mg dose at dinner the night before. I felt so good, I thought this is what normal is. I haven’t felt this good in I don’t know how long. My doctor offered counseling in addition to the Zoloft, but it works so well, I don’t think I need it."

Zoloft (sertraline) for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder "I was just recently diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder a few months ago. I developed a strange form of OCD in which I engage in mental compulsions and have to repeat the same words in my head to relieve anxiety. A little after a week and I’m already noticing SUCH an improvement of symptoms. I don’t feel so overly aware of everything and the best part is that I can focus at school!! I was studying for an exam yesterday and I could digest every word without my thoughts screaming at me or distracting me. It really feels as if a switch went off in my brain. My thoughts are so much more positive. This medicine has given me my life back."

For Anxiety and Stress "When you start sertraline you need to stick with it. It doesn’t start working for 6 weeks. I've has anxiety all my life but 3 years ago developed OCD and panic disorder. The first 2 weeks, taking sertraline was awful. Horrible thoughts, racing heart, anxiety worrying if the pill would work, then there was sick feeling, dodgy tummy etc. You only feel rubbish for 2-3 weeks and then you feel just as you would before the pill. Anyway, I read on NHS website that Sertraline takes 4 weeks to start working for Depression and 6 weeks for Anxiety. And true to word, I started feeling great after 6 weeks. I was patient and it paid off. I’ve been on it for almost 12 months and it’s the best decision I’ve made. I don’t care if I have to take this for life, if I feel better mentally, then surely my body will be healthier physically!"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Sertraline literally did everything I wanted it to do. In December 2023, I went through a severe bout of anxiety for no apparent reason. It may have been after a stint of the flu I had. My mind went into overdrive, and I was in a panic for literally 6 weeks. When I started sertraline 50mg, I was so, so, so skeptical. Granted, the first 2 weeks were hardcore difficult with side effects (didn’t take benzos as I wanted to fight through myself). Fast forward to 3 months in, and I feel absolutely incredible! Incredible meaning, I am back to my good old self - anxiety went from 10/10 to literally 0/10. I haven’t had intrusive thoughts or any, I mean any, anxiety symptoms since week 6. Will I stay on it long term? Who knows... I will do a year on it as it has changed my life for the better without a doubt. If anyone is going through the wringer, give it a try. It has brought me back from the brink, and I couldn’t be more delighted with life! :D"

For Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I am on 50mg of sertraline. It did take a long time for the medicine to fully level out. I experienced some of the initial side effects: increased anxiety, insomnia, headaches, shakiness, jaw pain and dizziness. But all eventually went away after a month or so of use. My husband noticed a difference in me around week 4, but I didn’t really notice much of a change until week 6/7. Honestly, I wasn’t even sure the medicine was truly working until about 12 weeks in. I have had a lot of ups and downs, but the downs have been less often since about week 4. Now at a little over 14 weeks, I feel like things have really leveled out for me. I still feel emotions. I cry, I laugh, I joke around, I get excited for family outings. All of the normal feelings are back. I don’t feel emotionally blunted. The side effects can be tough in the beginning… and from my experience, the doors and windows don’t start to open very quickly. But once they do, it can feel really incredible."

Zoloft (sertraline) for Depression "I’m 28, 106 lbs & never taken anything like this before. I went through a very bad breakup which I think led to me having a couple of mild panic attacks. After the 2nd panic attack I saw a psychiatrist. He told me that if we could deal with my mild depression that the anxiety/panic attacks would go away. He started me on 50mg of Zoloft. I’m reading through these reviews & see that most people start on 25mg. The first few days my panic attacks got SEVERE. I had suicidal thoughts I never had before. I was constantly tense with fear, couldn’t eat or sleep. I almost went to the hospital. I was scared to be around family or out in public. It was AWFUL. I felt paralyzed. After 7 days I decided to stop taking it and have been in bed for the last two days. I’m already feeling SO much better but still feel like it needs to get out of my system more. I’m very traumatized. They say things can feel worse before it gets better but to me that is a very dangerous game to play!"

Zoloft (sertraline) for Depression "I have been on Zoloft 100MG for the last 3 years. It has been a life saver for me. Before Zoloft everyone kept telling me I was depressed and experiencing anxiety. I didn't believe them. I thought that was just me. Then at my doctors strong recommendation I started with the Zoloft. It did make me tired at first but I continued to take it and am so glad I did. I no longer have crying spells or lay in bed not wanting to get up. I no longer freak out(as my kids would say) or obsess about small things that really didn't matter. I no longer have a short fuse. I am calm, relaxed, nice, and very happy. I cannot imagine my life without Zoloft. Zoloft has made me a much better mom and person."

For Anxiety and Stress "This has been one of the toughest medications I have ever been on. I've been on countless numbers of antipsychotics, antidepressants, mood stabilisers... Around 25 medications in total. I was wrongly diagnosed as borderline personality and suffered greatly as a result. Sertraline made everything so much worse for about three weeks: but then, it was like a switch had been pressed in my head. My racing, obsessive thoughts stopped, my constant headaches, insomnia, sweating, worrying, heart pains, vanished. I can think, I can feel and I can, for the first time in a long time, be 100% completely myself without the pain. You don't get points in this world for suffering and this has improved my life by about 100000000%. Stick with it."

For Anxiety and Stress "I started 25mg sertraline at the end of June 2020. I was depressed as well as anxious. I used to feel like life was pointless as we all die anyway and although I wasn’t suicidal I didn’t want to continue living this way. First few days I had an upset stomach and was waking up at random times through the night but this quickly went. I increased my dose to 50mg which I am on now. My main side effects are vivid dreams and lack of sex drive. I still experience anxiety every so often but it’s much better and easier to get over. I am considering increasing my dosage to 100mg to see if it helps with this. I am far less on edge and jumpy, I feel like I used to be on constant high alert and that’s definitely reduced. My depression, I would say, is completely gone. I feel happy again and excited for the future which I thought was impossible. I no longer think that life is pointless. I wouldn’t have thought that medication could help with these thoughts but it definitely has."

Zoloft (sertraline) for Panic Disorder "I promised myself after reading so many reviews that I’d come back and leave one myself, but I’ve been doing so good I almost forgot. I was so nervous about starting this drug. Last January my anxiety had gotten absolutely debilitating; I was having panic attacks nearly every day. I truly couldn’t imagine ever feeling good again. And I was so scared to start taking this. I started and stopped maybe 3 times before sticking with it. I’m so glad I did. If you’re reading this, and you’re nervous about starting, and you’ve been scouring reviews online to try and convince yourself, consider this your sign! Life is tough but it doesn’t have to be. Good luck out there friends ❤️"

Zoloft (sertraline) for Depression "My doctor prescribed this for depression issues/severe anxiety associated with adult ADD. I was very resistant to try, have been put on multiple other meds that made things much worse. I take 50mg daily. Immediately felt almost "euphoric." With each passing day, I feel better in every sense, and the anxiety is gone. I NEVER write any posts EVER, but this has been an unbelievable game changer. I have been battling these issues since childhood, and I can truly say I feel happy and hopeful about my future. The "internal storm" inside that I battled every day to cope with is gone. No side effects except for some vivid, strange dreams-but those are dissipating. I hope this helps someone-if this one doesn't help, keep trying and never give up."
