For GERD "I have no side effects with reglan after 3 months of use. It works well when combined with Nexium, this combo is only med that works for my gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). I have tried them all and these 2 medicines reduce the GERD down by approximately 75%. I also have my bed propped up at the head by 6 inches."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was given this a year ago in the ER. Almost immediately I had unpleasant side effects. I felt like I couldn't sit still, and I was extremely anxious. For two weeks I couldn't take care of my kids alone. I cried all the time and thought about suicide. I ended up in the ER a couple more times after that. Fast forward to three days ago, I was given Compazine for vomiting. I had no idea the two are closely related, and I experienced similar side effects. On the drive home I had to talk myself out of jumping out the car. Very deep thoughts consumed me. I do have a history of anxiety and depression so I'm not sure if there is a correlation or not, but I've never had a voice in my head trying to convince me to take my own life. It was very scary, and three days later I'm still anxious and unable to sleep or stay at my house alone. I know all meds affect people differently, but please take these reviews seriously. There are much less dangerous meds that can treat the same things."

For Migraine "Caused immediate dystonic reaction, hallucinations, derealization, depersonalization, agoraphobia, monophobia, daily panic attacks, severe depression, Akathisia, legs stopped working, muscle tremors, severe fatigue, chills, fainting, diarrhea, nausea, dry heaving, loss of appetite, acid reflux, shortness of breath, red burning skin, numbness in limbs, headache, restlessness, chest pain. Was given this drug via IV ONE TIME DOSE! It has now been 6 months and I am still completely disabled feels like I'm living in a dream, scared all of the time, can't eat, no joy, suffering for months on end. I’ve heard it can take a year or more to recover. Please join the Reglan Support Group on Facebook if you are suffering long term effects from this med and don’t let doctors gaslight you!! Keep in mind I have no history of mental illness and now have similar issues to TBI and severe panic disorder."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I went to the ER because I was extremely dehydrated due to vomiting in my pregnancy, I was given Reglan thru an IV. Within minutes I felt jittery and despite how sick I was I couldn't sit down. They then gave me Benadryl thru my IV which knocked me out. The ER doc released me with a script for reglan and told me I wouldn't have the "jittery" side effects with the pill like I did thru the IV. I took reglan 4 times a day as prescribed for 5 days. In those 5 days I have never in my life felt so miserable, I was sweating, had a fever, became jaundice, hallucinated, QUIT MY JOB. never felt so sick in all my life. Today is day one without Reglan and it is night and day difference in how I feel off the medicine. I don't recommend this drug!"

For Gastroparesis "This medication can be dangerous but it works REALLY well. I used it to treat stomach motility. I've been admitted in the ER many times during flare ups (severe nausea/vomiting/no sleeping/misery that would last for days) and as soon as I would get it through and IV, I would feel so good! So it's a miracle drug when it comes to treating nausea/vomiting. I took only 10mg, because of the warnings and only took it at night and if I needed it (if I ate something that would not digest) It worked really well to manage gastroparesis. I started to function, gain weight, eat food. Then after 6 months I woke up one day and my speech was slurred, and I was losing fine motor control, couldn't write or text, so I had to stop taking it."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Was given an IV dose of Reglan before I left the hospital and I cannot sit still. Wanted to rest when I came home but all I'm doing is pacing, moving my legs, and wishing I never let them inject me with this."

For Gastroparesis "I started Reglan while I was pregnant with my daughter. Symptoms of nausea and vomiting continued after delivery. After countless ED visits, specialists, scans, blood work, I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. I asked for the same medicine I had when I was pregnant with her (Reglan) and if I’m being honest, this drug helped me so much. It emptied my stomach rather quickly so food didn’t linger, and it helped with nausea as well. To many people struggling with gastroparesis, this drug did help. BUT. after being on it for so long, I was suddenly admitted into the ED for Acute Dyskensia. This drug became a nightmare really quick. I couldn’t control the movements in my mouth or jaw, my jaw was clenching and my tongue seemed as if it was trying to force its way into the back of my throat. I will never take this drug again, but am thankful for the temporary relief it provided. It has been Black Boxed by the FDA for Tardive Dyskensia. Beware. Stay informed, stay safe."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I got prescribed the Reglan, for my nausea, and gastroparesis, and I only need to take two or three days worth and not the full months worth, it works great, except for one of the minor side effects that I get every time I take it. I would recommend it to anybody who has nausea, gastroparesis, GERD."

For Lactation Augmentation "I was prescribed Reglan drops to increase breast milk. I was at work one day and had a wave of fear and anxiety overcome me to the point I had to be hospitalized. The horror of a side effect lasted about 2 weeks. It was the darkest, most perverse feeling I have ever felt- I feel like the word anxiety doesn’t encompass the full terror this drug caused."

For Migraine "So just last night, I went to the hospital for a virus accompanied by a migraine. The doctor decides to give me a Benadryl and a shot of reglan. 3 to 5 minutes after the reglan has set in ( I know it was the reglan because I take Benadryl no problem) I go into a full blown panic attack. I have this complete sense of dread, I felt as though if I didn't get out of my own skin, or just that hospital, I felt I was going to die then and there. I honestly don't think actually dying will be as bad a feeling as this. I ripped out my IV, there was blood flinging everywhere along with the fluids that were dripping in. The doctor runs in yells at me then goes out and slams the door behind him. Which totally intensified my panic and I ran out of the hospital. The whole way home I just kept thinking I wouldn't survive to see my kids again. It felt like an hour drive and it was literally 5 minutes. Never again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was in hospital after birth of my son. I was given Reglan after my Tubal for nausea and it almost was the end of me. I was highly allergic. There were 2 nurses in my room talking and I couldn’t even communicate with them that something was wrong. I had my phone in my hand and luckily my dr had text me earlier and was able to text 911 to her and send right at that moment. She immediately contacted the nurse and I was not breathing when the nurse turned around. So scary."

For Gastroparesis "I live with a Type 1 diabetic who developed Gastroparesis 3 years ago. Our GI put him on Reglan, he was highly anxious, angry, suffered from restless leg and was still throwing up. On the Reglan he puked a lot or more and here's the kicker IT MADE HIM THROW UP after taking him off of the drug. The primary care we had explained how Reglan can only be used for short periods of time and although she took him off Reglan. Also, be aware that he was still gonna puke till he was weened off of it. The erythromycin he was given only gave him diarrhea, and was still puking. They need way more research for this because the 2 options you give to these people are garbage. He didn't want surgery but he is not gonna have a choice this disease can't be controlled yet and watching him suffer is out of the question."

For Gastroparesis "I use metoclopramide for mild gastroparesis flare ups, as I've had Type 1 Diabetes for 27 years. It works wonders on moving food through my stomach! The only side effect I've had is tiredness after taking it, but it doesn't hit me all the time. When I take it before I eat I don't vomit or experience nausea. This is especially great since I love salad and I can't eat it without metoclopramide. Great drug! :-)"

For Migraine "This is not good I thought I was leaving this world I'm still experiencing side effect I took it yesterday through the IV and I got really paranoid it was the worst feeling it might not cause this feeling for some but I can related to anyone who has had a side effect from this med. If I have a headache next time I know what not to do when I go to the ER. I thought I was the only one but thanks to the internet we can share our experience. I would think they where using us as lab rats that med has weird side effects I'm still feeling it. I took it on 9/6/2015 and today I feel jittery & can't relax. I gotta move around a lot and I feel like taking off running its just the worst feeling."

For Migraine "I went to the ER for extreme neck and head pain. They said they were going to treat me with a headache cocktail. The nurse shot 3 medicines in me quickly. The first was reglan. Immediately after she put this in my iv I felt an intense pressure in my chest and I could barely breathe. I began to feel so restless and jittery. I wanted to jump up and rip the IV out and run. I tried to lay there and calm down but I felt terrible intense anxiety and worried I was going to die. I felt panic like never before. I thought something was wrong with me, I'm so glad I'm not alone. I'll never agree to this medicine again, and my head still hurt when I left!"

For GERD "I was supposed to take it 3x's a day, after two doses I began to experience severe side effects. My heart was racing, I couldn't sit still, I couldn't control my eyes. They were rolling around, I couldn't focus on anything. I only took two doses of the medication before I stopped, not even a full days worth. The side effects (inability to focus my eyes) remained for over a week after I stopped taking it."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have sickle cell disease so in addition to severe pain I have bouts of nausea/vomiting. I was given Reglan in the ER; within 5 min I felt extreme agitation, restlessness, dripping sweat & shaking uncontrollably. I begged the nurse to tell the doctor I was having a reaction. She did but with very little urgency, instead telling me to get back in the stretcher but I couldn't due to sweating, shaking & needing to pace. I was sent for a chest X-ray but the tech sent me back saying she was uncomfortable handling me in this state. I again pleaded with the nurse to call the doctor. He finally came & I was given benedryl to reverse the effects. I felt calmer but it took a while for the shaking to stop. Nurse & doctor acted like I was crazy smh."

For Gastroparesis "For me Reglan was a blessing as it ended my nausea, pain, and vomiting caused by gastroparesis. I know that for some people it comes with severe side effects. I was put on it for long term use. After reading up on it, I learned that it is recommended to be used for no longer than 12 weeks as that is often long enough to control symptoms for the time without the risk of long term use. If symptoms reoccur a person can go back on it. This happened to me. I was off it and went back on it for a month and my symptoms again improved. Also, reading the reviews, I see that some of you have been diagnosed with gastroparesis by doctors suspecting it. There are tests that can give a definitive diagnosis so another problem is not missed."

For Migraine "I had been treated in ER for migraine and received tordol and some other anti nausea meds and I did wonderfully, then 2 mo. Later I went to ER for migraine and they wanted to try something new, tordol and reglan....thought to myself the other treatment worked well, why change it, but ER doc insisted. Tordol in IV great, Reglan went in and I felt it burn up my arm, I became agitated and within 30 seconds said to my husband...I think I'm having a panic attack and then did! I am a medical professional and here I was yelling for the nurses because I thought I was going to die. My poor husband! It was a wild experience of feeling like I was passing out but I was lying down. Felt like I was losing blood flow to my brain. Horrible experience!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Please avoid this drug at all costs. Possible life long side effects. Yesterday, I was in the hospital due to a Crohn’s flare up. Due to negligence, I was given a drug I’m extremely allergic to called Reglan. It induced a Parkinsonism reaction (akin to Parkinson’s disease) where I started violently seizing and convulsing. For 30 minutes, I lost motor control of my eyes, legs, arms, and mouth. The only thing voluntary movement I could do was move my eyes side to side. Benadryl counteracted the effects, but for 30 minutes, I thought I was going to die. And I bite off part of my tongue. And in those moments, I realized that some people live their whole lives like that. Paralyzed. So at the end of the day when you’re feeling upset over little things just realize it can be much worse. I beg the pharmaceutical industry to remove this drug. It’s not worth our lives."

For Migraine "Due to chronic pain I take a lot of meds to begin with. I ended up in the hospital with a severe migraine that I'd already had for a few days (among other things). Morphine wasn't helping, not even Dilauded helped. I don't know who made the switch, but finally at the end of the second day a nurse came in to give me the Raglan, Toradol, Benadryl combo. Oh how I loved her after that. It burned slightly going into my IV (but Potassium burned a hell of a lot more) but that was really it. I didn't feel jittery but it's the usual initial feeling of light-headedness and warmth. It didn't last long and within a few minutes my head was starting to feel better. I was surprised this worked so well."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was in the Emergency Room for a kidney stone and was given a couple medications in my IV. I told the nurse that I was becoming very nauseous and needed something to prevent myself from vomiting. She came back with a syringe and thought it was Zofran. The nurse began pushing the medication and said that she was administering Reglan. About 2 minutes later, my chest felt extremely tight, I couldn't stop moving my legs or hold still. I had an extreme urge to rip my IV out and run... and run... and run... I had a feeling of anxiety unlike anything I have ever felt before. It wasn't your typical 'butterflies', this was like I wanted to escape my skin or just end it all right there. I would much rather be dead than to feel the way Reglan felt."
