Medrol (methylprednisolone) for Inflammatory Conditions "I’ve been on 4mg of medrol once a day for over ten years. Nothing else gives me the relief I need to get through the day...I’ve weaned off a few times only to go back. I’m aware of all side affects and interactions but nothing else works for me. The day my Dr says I need to get off is the day I look for a new Dr. I have hypothyroidism and have been infected with Epstein Barr in my teens, both of which cause me wide spread inflammation in my soft tissue and joints all over my bodily. This is my miracle medication."

For Gout, Acute "I had one week of help me please trying to use my medications on gout. Gout in the toe in my ankle and then my left wrist. The last place was the wrist and the pain was so bad I started to go to the emergency room but held out for a dr. Visit so much cheaper. My dr. Prescribed me methylprednisone. By the next day the wrist was down to almost normal size and pain was almost gone. I gave it a 10. Its great medicine."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had been experiencing shoulder pain from repetitive strain for about 3 years; it started off quite mild and then in the past 3-6 months had developed into a constant stabbing, throbbing pain. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with rotator cuff tendonitis, and was put on methylprednisolone and valium. After the very first day on the steroid, my pain symptoms reduced *dramatically*. On day 3, it barely hurts at all. So, so, so relieved.. I wish I'd gone to the doctor much sooner!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "I am on the methylprednisolone 21 pill dose pack and on day 1 it cured my sinus infection that would not go away after 2 long weeks. The side effects will hit you. I have experienced sleepless nights, racing heartbeat, and nausea, but tbh I’ll take that over the unrelenting sinus pressure and headaches I was experiencing. The after taste is not fun either but again I can function now so I’ll take it."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I figured I'd share my somewhat neutral experience with this drug after reading mostly negative reviews. The reviews about the side effects alone made me cringe and NOT even want to give it a chance. Rarely will you find a positive review when the drug actually works. It's always when it doesn't work that you end up reading the horror stories. I understand everyone is different so this is just my experience. I was originally given this medication for heel bursitis and planter fasciitis. Although at the same time I had a terrible reaction to poison ivy and sumac. I was told it would treat both. I followed the regime exactly. I didn't notice any side effects at all. Nothing. I was waiting for the panic attacks and anxiety I read about from other reviews. No insomnia either. Nothing happened. Saying that, the medication didn't work for me either. My ivy and sumac stayed the same. Same with my foot. I was kind of disappointed. I gave it a shot tho."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had foot pain on right side, my right hip also but not considered at time. I took methylprednisolone 4mg pack. By the end of the medicine, I was not having any pain in foot or hip. Wow what a difference. It made moving around and going to work was much better than a few days before. Eating with medicines helps the upset stomach. What a life change! Thanks!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "I'm 52 and started developing early signs of carpal tunnel. The pain in my left wrist would keep me up at night until finally, I went to the doctor. He prescribed methylprednisolone 4mg dosepake 21's. I took the first (6) pills that night and slept like a baby! By morning, almost no pain and I felt wonderful! It feels great to do the simply things like pinning your hair, putting on your coat, or pulling up your pants...so many things we take for granted. Oh, and my work station is ergonomically correct now!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had my third back surgery on 12/31/15. Pain and tightness has been off and on since. Recently the pain was so bad I couldn't take it anymore because my hydrocodone wasn't working. Went to the doc and he put me in the methylprednisilone dose pak 4mg. Over night it was better. You have to take it with food or it will tear you up. Don't take it close to bedtime. No significant side effects other than mild depression and lethargy. May not even be due to the med but it is a possibility."

For Inflammatory Conditions "Last month I was given this med by the orthopedic for a "pinched nerve" from my neck to shoulder down arm which was very painful. I took a double dose pak, 42 pills total. I had never took steroids before. Day 2, I immediately felt better. Great! By day 12, the last day of this regimen, I was sooo tired, bloated from lots of gas, but pain was 90 percent better. The days following, I got so weak and just wanted to sleep all the time. Good thing I am retired. It's been 3 weeks since I stopped. The pain is back full force, my legs are swollen from water retention, and I'm full of gas. Pills were good for a short time, but now I am back to square one. Had 2 MRI's yesterday, and will see the doctor in 4 days. Won't take these again."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I have osteoarthritis, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy as well as occipital neuralgia. In the past I was prescribed prednisone to reduce the painful inflammation. I hated taking it due to the side effects. There are not too many medications I can tolerate or that I don't have an allergic reaction to. This medicine methylprednisolone was great in between all the medical procedures. I felt like a new person without all the constant pain for at least a few months until my next procedure"

For Inflammatory Conditions "methylprednisolone caused me to go from a normal mental state to extreme panic. I took my pills up until day 5 and then I had to stop due to the side effects making me sicker. A week later with anti anxiety medications to counteract these effects and I’m still not sleeping through the night. The risks for me certainly outweighed the benefits. Do NOT take if you have any form of anxiety disorder."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking this medication for about 6 weeks. Prior to taking this I was unable to get out of bed by myself or even lift a cup of coffee because of a severe RA flare. I am 63, but feel like I’m 35 again. Energy is back, pain is gone, my mood has greatly improved. I have had no side effects,I even lost a few pounds, likely because I can be active again without pain. Life changer for me!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "I feel like this drug is a miracle drug. I know it's not good for long term use but the 6 day pack of 4 mg tablets makes me feel like a new person almost immediately. I have been taking it after shoulder surgery because I have had a lot of pain in my hand and inflammation. This is the third time I have taken the six day dosage since surgery 8 weeks ago but it relieves my pain really well for about 2 weeks. I have not noticed any side effects. I'm not sure if it affects my sleep because I have not been sleeping much because of shoulder pain anyway. I wish it was a more permanent fix but it's great for temporary relief while the shoulder heals and allows me to work on my physical therapy exercises more and use my hand more."

Then horrible stomach pains, no appetite, red rash on my face would come & go, I'm so extremely tired that no amount of sleep helps, leg cramps, I'm so sore all over I feel like I have been beaten, jaw pain. List can go on. Shortness of breath almost like a anxiety attack. I still have the cough.. I'll never take this drug again. I feel horrible."

Depo-Medrol (methylprednisolone) for Inflammatory Conditions "I had severe soft tissue damage. The inflammation would not subside and was creating other problems as the inflammation was choking nerves. I did a series of 11 injections in the area (12"x12" area) over approximately 8 weeks. It worked. It took about 2 months to feel full effects. My side effects included minimal pain at the injection point for a day or 2 after each injection and major upper body sweating. Thank God for this medicine as it was the only thing that worked to minimize the inflammation."

However the pain is almost gone. I hope my stomach restores itself soon because I don't remember feeling so bad. It's like a 5 day hangover."
