"Extreme pain and inflammation on the sight where injection was done. It happened in my first and now my second set of injections. The swelling last for about a week. I will not be getting my 3 rd set of synvisc injections. Too painful."

"Had the Synvisc injections (3) a year and 1/2 ago with success. Was able to move knee joint freely and returned to exercising. In the last 2 weeks pain, stiffness and swelling has returned to same knee. Was given a steroid shot after excess fluid drained. Some help but not like the Synvisc shots. Orthopedic doctor tells me they are no longer covered by my insurance!"

"Had the series of injections years ago. Didn't help at all. Ended up with knee replacement. Now other knee is going and WITH insurance, injection of SynviscOne costs over $130 (co-pay) + $30 co-pay for visit. I'm not having it done unless I get a guarantee that it will work. RIP-OFF for the cost and a RIP-OFF that insurance doesn't provide better coverage."

"The first synvisc injection I had pain but the second has been excruciating! I can’t walk without crutches (because that’s all I have for assistance). My knee is swollen and very painful to walk. Cannot get comfortable no matter what I do and cannot sleep! Taking ibuprofen and Tylenol but no relief! Not doing another injection!"

"I received Synvisc 3-shot series every 6 months in the left knee for 13 years and started on both knees about 5 years ago. It worked wonderfully for all that time on my bone-on-bone knees. No injection pain or side effects. Finally, at 70 years old, my knees were begging for replacements. Synvisc helped stave off surgery until I reached the perfect age for it. The replacement went great! I am 5'4 and weigh about 125 lbs. Keeping off excess weight is really crucial."

"Had meniscus tear surgery five years ago on right knees. I was walking two to three miles five days a week. Beginning January 2017 started having knee pain and cannot walk half a mile. My ortho surgeon suggested some knee exercise and physical therapy. Went thru six weeks of physical therapy but did not help. Got corticosteroid shot back in June 2017. Ninety percent pain free for about two months and then back to same knee pain I had before the corticosteroid shot .My ortho doctor suggested to try Synvisc gel injection treatment. Just got Synvisc gel injection 24 hours ago. This injection was little more painful compare to corticosteroid shot but able to walk to parking lot and my wife drove me back to home. I am already feeling lot better"

"I have had all three of these type of shots over approx 12-13 years now, first the synvic, had moderate relief for 9 months, Doctor no longer accepted my insurance. New Dr and used Hyalgan, great results, even getting 2 years at a time even playing softball. Now moved to Florida and trying the supartz once already, not real good results but trying it again, into my second shot, lets see"

"Horrible pain during injection after numbing to the point of being light headed and having to lay down. I have an extreme high pain tolerance. I have had multiple steroid injections with no pain. Pain medication injections that didn’t hurt. Have had no relief after 2. Would not recommend this drug."

"My last knee injections with Synvisc lasted 3 years. I just finished my 3rd week injection. I can feel some improvement, but it usually takes about 2-3 weeks after the last for me to feel the full effect. I do get a light headache and lethargy the day after the injections. Tylenol helps."

"I have arthritis in my knee. I had so much pain I walked with a heavy limp. I just turned 51. I don't want to have a knee replacement so I tried steroid injections, didn't work. I was recommended synvisc injections and It gave me relief along with 1200 mg. Fresh health care pure turmeric with bioperine. Amazon sells 3 mo. supply for $20. Mix 2 caps (broke open of course) with olive oil, enough to bind it and take it that way for max obsorbtion. That stuff is amazing with the injection I can do what I want most of the time."

"I had a knee replacement on the right knee. In the three months since I had the replacement my left knee was worse the Dr. suggested a knee replacement for the left but I couldn't as the right replacement did not go to plan and I have a bent knee for life. I came across the Synvisc and asked the Dr about it. he said that he has not heard of anyone that it has worked on, I went ahead and ordered it and had him inject the left knee it was good for about 4 weeks and then the pain came back with a vengence. It cost me over $400 it was money not worth spending. They say you should get up to 6 months mine was maybe one moth."

"I went through 2 rounds of 3 shots each. I had NO RELIEF from the 1st round. My doctor wanted me to try it again 6 months after the third shot of the 1st round. I don't know why to this day that I agreed to allow this. I have a high pain threshold, but damn!, these shots really really do hurt. Unfortunately I had my 3 small children with me for one of those visits (couldn't get a sitter). I don't know who it hurt more, me or my kids. They were all holding my hand trying to comfort me but in reality I was trying to comfort them. They were all crying because they could tell it was painful. After all that crying I had to take them out for ice cream after that. Too bad the Synvisc never helped!!!"

"I wish to God I had never consented to having this medicine injected in me. I am 49 years old and suffer with mild osteoarthritis in my right knee. My nurse practitioner (NP) strongly suggested this med. I read the pamphlet which in hindsight was more of an advertisement for the drug instead of unbiased information. I wish I had done more research on this drug. I was to receive a series of 3 injections. Nothing much happened after the first injection, but after the second injection my knee became swollen, stiff, and very painful. I couldn't bare weight on my right foot without extreme pain. I contacted my NP who apparently thought I was exaggerating or simply had no experience with adverse reactions to this drug. Well after begging to be seen, she finally realized it was serious. I ended up having my knee drained and given a cortisone injection. Unfortunately that only relieved the pain slightly. The pain and swelling eventually returned. Please do your research."

"I have been taking synvisc 1 for over 10 years and absolutely love it .I have bad OA in both knees but don’t have bone on bone. I get a year- 14 months before getting a shot again. The longest I ever had to wait for it to kick it was 3 weeks but normally I’m out and about within 4 days.I don’t want to push it ."

"I'm 60 years old, 6'5" 390lbs, had a traumatic knee injury in my early 20s, after it healed I pretty much went back to being athletic, martial arts, tennis, running. Had a steroid injection first, which probably did what it was supposed to do, take any swelling away, then I started feeling cracking in my knee which I never had, pain significantly increased. I followed up by having the 3 synvisc injections, which increased my pain dramatically, 6 weeks after the 3rd injection, I got an infection on the old scar on my knee, I normally heal very fast, but I had to take antibiotics for a couple weeks, it took 6 plus weeks to finally heal, pain is worse then ever, I go no relief at all, probably because I'm heavy, very frustrating, I guess everyone is different, I wish that I never tried this, but I guess if I didn't, I wouldn't have known. Now I can't even perform my job."

"I've been getting Synvisc 3 for about 20 years. Never had a bad side effect. I would walk around (shopping) after each injection. This seemed to help with the soreness. It would take 6-8 weeks before I noticed a decrease in pain. I was pain-free for about a year, until now. My last set of injections only lasted a few months. Cortisone didn't work. I'm now trying to decide which other injection I want to try."
