"So it has been a month and I am on my 25th day. What I can say is, yes it does control my period. My skin seems to be better than it was, although my breasts are coming out my bra and nipples are extremely sensitive. I've managed to gain 7-10 lbs (I was also sick home for two weeks and did nothing but stay in bed) but aside from it my breasts were so sore but today I woke up and it seems like they had deflated overnight although still slightly sore. Experiencing headache that won't go away but I'm assuming its because of the period. Anyways hoping the weight will drop and thats its all water or something."

"I’ve been on Tri Sprintec for about a month now and started having breakthrough bleeding 2 weeks ago, even though my period isn’t due for a week. Also I've been having painful breasts ever since starting it, I feel like I’m about to lactate since they are so swollen."

"I was prescribed Sprintec after having an irregular period. I absolutely love this birth control! I went from having 3-4 periods a year to a PERFECT cycle. This birth control is not for everyone!! I experienced no symptoms at all. My flow is regular about 4-5 days of light bleeding. I usually feel breast tenderness and slight bloating before my period otherwise I have not experienced any negative symptoms."

"I started taking this medicine because my periods were so irregular and I had terrible cramps. I was on it for about a month and a half before I had to stop taking it. The first five days I took it, I woke up in the middle of the night vomiting for hours. I could hardly sleep because I was so nauseous. After that, it just made me feel nauseous all of the time. Every time I would eat I would feel like I was going to throw up. I had constant gas and had to use the bathroom multiple times a day. It also made me feel sluggish, but that could also be from the nausea. On top of the nausea, I gained 5 pounds while taking this. It did however give me the nicest skin I have ever had. Overall, I would not recommend, but I’m sure that it would be okay for some people."

"I used to have really heavy periods and Sprintec has really lightened my period. It has also taken away the cramps, bloating and diarrhea that my period used to cause. My back pain has gotten worse though and I have started to get cravings. All in all it is great at lightening my flow and making it to where I don't have any "surprises." It's the first pill I've tried and I don't plan on switching."

"I started this pill with my period like I was instructed too, I was on this birth control for almost 48hrs when I was rushed to the emergency room because of muscle spasms and vertigo. I collapsed and wasn’t able to speak or control my movements. It was diagnosed as psuedoseizure. I’ve never had any issue with any birth control until this one, and lucky me I got the rare side effects. Doctors think it had to do with fertility treatments in relation to this pill, so be cautious if you have done hormone injections and other fertility treatments. I also spotted every day after I finished my period"

"I love this birth control! My mood has stabilized and I am no longer a roller coaster of emotions, as I had been previously on other pills. My skin has also cleared up tremendously and my break outs don’t happen as frequently anymore. However, the one downfall that I’ve experienced is spotting almost every single day, which is a shame considering how much I love it."

"I've been on Sprintec for over a year and some months are fine. Others I'll get horrible cramps 2 weeks into the pill or even get a period that lasts 2 weeks. Every month it's something different. I guess you get what you pay for."

"I was put on this pill because I have no insurance and needed something to help with my heavy periods. Everything was fine for the first month and a half and then halfway through my second pill pack I started bleeding and it lasted 17 days, stopped for 5 and started again! The day it started again I switched to a new pill. Also during those 17 days I experienced the worst cramps I've ever had, was constantly nauseous, and had really bad mood swings. I don't know anyone that's had a good experience on this pill."

"I switched to this pill from Jolessa (Seasonale generic) because I was sick of the non-stop bleeding. Sprintec did stop the bleeding within two days or so, and I haven't had any problems with it for about two weeks. However, near the end of the second week, I had some spotting. I kept taking the pill at the same time everyday, but all this did was make the bleeding worse. I've already ruined three pairs of underwear and one of my pajamas because this pill gave me the heaviest breakthrough bleed I have ever had. Every morning, I would wake up with excessive bleeding. It was that terrible, and made me anxious every time I left the house that I would bleed through my clothes. I wish I had never taken this pill."

"The pediatrician put my 14 year old on sprintec. Over three months she experienced severe migraines, loss of vision, anxiety attacks, stomach and bowel problems. We spent every minute of the day in severe debilitating pain. She missed 30 days of school, went to numerous specialist, medical procedures and suffering she lost 122 pounds. Finally, I tracked it all back to the start date of sprintec. We have over 33,000.00 in unpaid medical bills and continues to suffer daily. DO NOT ALLOW your daughters to be placed on this life threatening drug!!!!!"

"So it seems like everyone has this problem with Sprintec??? I've been on it for years, tried different pills for a bit, but realized Sprintec was the best but the ONLY thing is the spotting!!!! It happens during the second week of the blue pills, usually on Saturday -ish and lasts for a few days but it’s super annoying when having sex , etc. I never have to wear a tampon or pad but it’s always brown spotting, some months worse than others. HOWEVER , Sprintec keeps my weight manageable, skin clear, not depressed, legit no other side effects than annoying spotting every…. Single…… month…… but I’ll take it if that’s the only symptom?"

"First time on Sprintec. I was previously on TriSprintec. First period being on this bc and I have never had cramping so bad in my life. I am also bleeding heavier than I ever have. I am having to change my tampon every hour to hour and a half at this point. I will be stopping this bc immediately because of this."

"I've taken 3 weeks of this medication. I was prescribed this to regulate my periods as I was having light bleeding every 2-2.5 weeks of 4 months. The bleeding started again at 3 weeks instead of two so maybe it will get better if I take another months worth but I doubt it. I've always had a few acne spots but since taking sprintec it's much worse and all over including on my neck."

"I started the pills because I have terrible periods (vomit, diarrhea, headaches and terrible cramps). The first month I was so irritable, my mood changes were unbearable, I got sad, depressed-normal- extremely irritated. Now, on the second month, I have controlled a little bit the mood swings but I'm very nauseous. I have never liked olives, but now if I'm even close to one, I want to vomit. I feel like I gained around 4-6 pounds. I gave it a 4-rating because even though it has side effects, it helped me tremendously with my menstruation. My periods are shorter, lighter and not traumatic nor painful at all."

"Do not try this birth control. I was put on the pill because I have god awful PMS and when I started college, my hormones went crazy and I started getting my period every 2 weeks (can you imagine). I began to develop a very mild form of cystic acne on my cheeks so my doctor decided to put me on Sprintec. While it did a great job regulating my cycle and lightening my period, it made me look like a monster... as in cystic acne all over my cheeks. I could barely stand to look in the mirror. Keep in mind prior to this year I had NEVER had acne in my life, not even 1-2 mild breakouts. So you can imagine my anxieties when every day, despite my best skin care efforts I had painful cysts all over. I decided to take myself off the pill and my face gradually cleared but unfortunately, I was left with horrible scaring (now being treated with Tretinoin), and I'm back to the 2 week cycle and horrible PMS. My doctor decided to switch me to Yaz, so I am hoping for the best!"

"I'm prone to very painful, heavy periods and this birth control made them much lighter. My cramps were still bad, and my periods got longer (from 2-3 days to 4-5) but much lighter. The best thing about this medicine for me is that it's extremely easy to regulate when/if you get your period while taking it. I didn't experience any weight gain or unusual breakouts, and now after 3 months of use I'm noticing my skin is clearing up nicely. This is the only pill I've tried but so far I'm happy with it."

"my first time using this medicine, I took it on the first of my spotting, however, my period didn't even after 10 day, I had even heavier bleeding than before, and my emotion was terrible and I felt depressed during that week of taking this medicine. Eventually, I had to talk to my doctor and switch to another medicine"

"I would just like to point out that I wasn't taking this birth control for protection while having sex. I am a lesbian. I was taking this medication to help with the severity of my periods. When I first started this BC, everything seemed great. This was my third time switching pills so I thought I finally found one that was great. After three months this was sadly not the case. I became very angry and furious at everything and everyone for no reason. This pill made me extremely depressed and anxious so bad that I could barely sleep. I almost ended things with my spouse because I was so angry at her (for no reason). Cramps are horrific and I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. I am giving up on BC completely"

"This was the first bc I have used, for my crazy abnormal periods and as a birth control. The first month was crazy, headache, fetigue, nausea, extreme cramps, but I decided to stick with it and eventually that went away. My period started on a Tuesday and ended on a Saturday and were way lighter, and I hadn't experienced normal period symptoms besides bloating. The second month I had crazy mood swings, followed by the month after that. Periods still came on Tuesday-Saturday, but I started noticing on my new packs, I had headaches, fetigue, nausea, etc.. My fourth and fifth month, I have had my period for two weeks. It would start on my 3rd week pill Tuesday, all the way until I had to start my new pack. I am shortly switching."

"Another lovely review for Sprintec, though I know symptoms vary for everyone, resolving them is the problem that’s yet to be solved. I’ve been bleeding for over 4 weeks now, I’ve gotten dermatitis at the same time and all I’ve been doing is healthy habits and Sprintec. Not only now have I stopped taking it entirely 5 days ago, but the bleeding has now intensified. Waiting for my new prescription to stop the bleeding. Waiting for this pill to be cancelled. Prolly will have to see a dermatologist and OBGYN to fix both problems, can’t imagine what would’ve happened if I stayed on it, symptoms have yet to subside tho to this day. Wish I never started, wish the dr. that prescribed was more keen on the sensitivities I voiced earlier on."

"So I have been on Sprintec for 12 weeks. Always bled more frequently. Went to ER to find that my bleeding (darker reddish brown) of 18+days is due to a uterine fibroid. 2.7cm. I am a "lucky one" to actually have fibroid symptoms besides the bleeding. After research, for one to grow to 3cm (size of walnut), it is 10 weeks old. Now I'm not thinking it is a coincidence that it developed and grew once I started Sprintec. And it feeds on the hormones of birth control especially estrogen. Don't wait.. See a Dr and quit Sprintec!"

"this scary because I had a blood transfusion because of heavy bleeding, I thought I would get relief but no. I have been in pain since day one I would deal with everything if it would just stop my bleeding .The cramps are so severe Ibuprofen isn't even working I'm definitely switching . I would advise ladies to take note of all these stories because if I had saw this I wouldn't take this at all. I'm in hell right now"
