"I hate to write a review this awful but I have to. People should know how life altering this pill is. I started taking Estrylla A WEEK ago and had to throw them in the trash. If you have or have ever had any bouts with anxiety or depression DO NOT even look at this pill. I don’t remember a time I have felt so low and lethargic and then let’s not forget the cyst acne that popped up on my jaw and chin. If it works for you that’s great but it has TORN ME UP!"

"I was prescribed this form of BC to help treat my PCOS and irregular periods. I've been taking Estarylla (previously Mononessa) for about 10 years now. To be honest, I think it works very well. My periods are light flow, light cramping and always on time. My acne has always been mild and usually only on my face. I do experience some depression and anxiety but I figure that's just me. It is important to take this at the same time every day for best results. I also recommend drinking plenty of water (because it's great for your body! :)"

"I was diagnose with POS and was told that my uterine wall was thickening. My periods became abnormal so my uterus was not shedding its wall the way it's suppose to every month. My doctor put me on Estarylla to clear the cysts. Six months later, my follow up showed no more cysts and uterine wall was normal. She suggested to stay on the pill for three more months but I decided to stay on it longer for the birth control effect. This pill worked effectively in ridding my cysts. The side effects weren't too bad. Loss of weight, but I always lose weight with birth control pills. Little to no sex drive. Maybe a little moody, but I can't really say, because at the time, my family was going through changes-everyone was stressed and moody, even my five year old :) Overall, it did its job which was to reduce or clear my cysts, and thin out my uterine wall. Side effects, not too bad. I've had worst with other BC pills. This is only my personal experience. Everyone's body reacts differently."

"Dangerous. Especially if you are prone to anxiety or depression. My pharmacy switched me to this twice after Mononessa was no longer available. Once last year and again in the last month. I’ve spotted every day on this pill, with abnormal depression and anxiety. Definitely will never take again, and definitely do not recommend!!"

"I was on Mononessa originally for about 2 years because I have ovarian cysts and endo. I was switched to Estarylla in January and I've been taking it every day, as directed, since. I've had some really odd side affects that I had no idea were side affects until I read some of these reviews. My boobs are constantly tender and achy, I've been losing hair like you couldn't imagine, and recently I've been having some other (worse) issues that I haven't seen a lot of women talk about so maybe it isn't the BC but I've never had these issues before. My vagina is CONSTANTLY itchy and dry and there is always a crazy amount of thick white discharge. Originally I thought it could've been a yeast infection or even PID but literally nothing has worked and it's been about two months. Also sex is extremely painful. Let me add that my skin is the best it's ever been since starting this brand. Nice skin does not make up for all of the other bad things that are happening because of this pill though."

"This is a TERRIBLE pill! I was on Mononessa for years, mainly to balance issues related to PCOS- depression, anxiety, irregular bleeding, excess hair. All was going OK- better when I ate right and exercise regularly, then suddenly no pharmacies near me would stock Mononessa, and they switched me to Estarylla claiming it was exactly the same pill. I spoke with my doctor and nurses, and they assured me it was the same. They are NOT the same. I've been on Estarylla for 3 months, and have never in my life had panic attacks and depressive episodes like this. I've had spotting between periods, and my libido is dead. Makes you wonder who's making $$$ off this pill- because after reading other reviews it sure as hell isn't helping anyone."

"I was very scared to start Estarylla at first because of the reviews, but keep in mind that we’re all different. When I first started, my emotions were all over the place, I wanted to cry and then just felt angry, this then went away after the first week. I also got some headaches and definitely nauseous through out my first month. I missed two days and spotted for like a week idk if that’s normal or not. And, lastly my breast were sore as anything!! But overall I don’t think it was a terrible experience, I still have to see if it did anything to help with my ovarian cysts even though I still have minor aches on my sides."

"I’m not sure if I like this pill or not, I’ve been having irregular bleeding for years and I’m at the point where I wanna have children. My DR. prescribed me Estarylla in June. I just started my second month but I’m still on my period. This period has been AWFUL! My period is heavy & I’m going through Super+ in maybe 2 hours & the cramps were HORRIBLE. I ended up going to the ER after waking up with severe stabbing like pains in my pelvic area. I could barely walk or sit or lay down. I also felt the sensation that a clot was going to fall out of me for about 4 days and it never passed. I got a CT scan at the ER and they told me I had a mass of blood in my vaginal canal (that was the clot!). I’m still seeing how this pill plays out because I want a regular period, however this massive bleeding sucks. I can’t say don’t take it, because our bodies are different. I have not experienced: -Weight again -Loss of sex drive -Depression -Anxiety -Acne -Mood swings"

"Please be careful if you decide to go on this medicine if you’ve previously had a history of stomach problems. I went on this pill to prevent ovarian cysts and to help with severe pain during my period. It’s been a lifesaver in terms of helping me to feel less pain, and helped with my acne, and makes me have less mood swings but that’s really all it’s done. This medication has messed my stomach up. I can’t tell when I’m hungry or full, I gag on food, can’t stand the smell of most foods, I have pain after eating, and painful bathroom experiences. If you struggle with mental illness then beware. I have less mood swings but the catch is that I feel withdrawn from family, friends, and my boyfriend. It also dried out my skin on certain parts of my body. Overall this medicine is good if you need birth control and aren’t sensitive to medication ,but if you have sensitivities, this will not be your pill. Good luck to anybody taking this, hope I helped!"

"I was on Mononessa for several years. The pharmacy stopped carrying that brand and switched to this brand. The first three months were not great but tolerable. Periods were moderate flow but still an average of 5 days long. Fourth month on this drug started nausea mid cycle. Then spotting started the third week of the pack. Followed by an 8 day moderate flow period. This is absolutely awful. I take the pill the exact same time every day, never missed a pill. This pill is supposed to be the same as Ortho Cyclen and the other generics, but I think there is something drastically wrong with this brand. Do NOT recommend this one at all. Back to find Mononessa."

"I was switched like many other users from MonoNessa to Estarylla and have experienced increased anxiety. I was taking MonoNessa with no problems until Walgreens switched their supplier. I have contacted my doctor to get a prescription stating not to give a generic, so hopefully that will help."

"I recently been taking Estarylla for about 1 month now and just stopped it completely. It did help with my secondary amenorrhea. I usually get my period once every 4-7 months and I got it about a week ago. But I’m getting off it because I now have severe acne and weight gain. Not to mention, mood swings, constant UTI’s, weight gain, bloating, and indigestion."

"This has worked really well for me. I was on 3 month cycle packs of a different birth control for 10 years to treat PCOS, and had tons of side effects. This gives me no side effects, it's re-regulated my cycle again, and no breakthrough bleeding. I'm really glad my new gyno suggested the switch."

"Like most everyone else that left reviews, I was on mononessa and Walgreens switched over to this medication. I have to take a birth control pill to prevent cysts unfortunately. Even though I exercise and am on the go regularly, I have gained a bit of weight and am struggling to get it off. The worst part for me though is the migraines! Like clock work they start every month the week before I have my period. I didn’t put it together until the last few months and actually went to a neurologist about the severity of these migraines! I will be finding a pharmacy that carries mononessa ASAP! I absolutely do not recommend this medicine."

"Do not take this! I have been on it for a few months, and it has done nothing but make me depressed, gain weight, and be incredibly moody, my eczema has gotten worse, my skin is breaking out, and overall it just makes me feel terrible. There are better options out there."

"Using Estarylla to treat PCOS has made my period somehow even more painful. My period is heavier and the cramps are unbearable. Definitely going to have to try a different birth control to see if anything changes."

"I have been taking this birth control for 5 years now and I have more energy. My periods are heavy and I do have some mood swings around the time of my period but that’s normal for me. I’ve taken other birth control and so far this one has been the best."
