For Birth Control "I am now in my third month of using Minastrin 24 Fe, the first time I've been on the pill in four years. Aside from a random day in the first month that I was extremely emotional and two weeks out of month two when I spotted constantly, I haven't had any other noticeable side effects. My weight has been constant and my mood the same. I don't have any real complaints other than the adjustment period being pretty awful."

For Birth Control "This has worked great for me! 9/10! I only say 9 because of something that has recently come up. I'm on my 4th pack of these pills and all of a sudden, since Thursday of week 2 (it's now Saturday), I've been spotting on and off, which I thought would happen the first three months, but it's month 4 and just starting now. But otherwise, my actual periods are almost nonexistent, very light only lasting about 2 days, so this really works great for me!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking this pill for almost a year, probably by far the worst birth control I've ever taken (side effects wise). This pill makes you bleed and spot ALL the TIME. I take it at the exact time every single day and yet somehow my period will start like 2 weeks before I'm supposed to get it and it will last for like a week of just pure spotting. This is verrrrrry annoying and inconvenient for a woman with a boyfriend. You never know if one day you're just going to start bleeding or not. Periods are just as bad as before I was on the pill, cramps, bloating, and heaviness of bleeding varies. I also have almost a non existent sex drive which sucks. Also I have been having stomach issues on and off since I've been taking this."

For Birth Control "I have nothing bad to say about this pill. I had the Mirena for almost a year and it was the worst bc ever. I had bad acne, weight gain, not able to lose weight and stomach pain. I am very active (even had a trainer and ate healthy) and once I got the Mirena I was not able to lose a pound and felt bloated all the time. It also made my migraines way worse. About a month after I got it out I lost 10lbs. Then after a couple months I got nexplanon. I have pcos so bc helps with my bleeding and cramps. I only had that in for a month and it caused weight gain 4lbs, water retention, migraines and acne on my neck. I have been on minastrin 24 fe for a month and it is a savior. No acne, no weight gain and has helped my migraines. I highly recommend."

For Birth Control "This pill is horrific. I have been on it for only a few days and it's making me feel super emotional and depressed and I have never felt this way before. I will no longer be taking this and need to find something to switch to."

For Birth Control "I have been on Minastrin for about 5 months and have had no real negative physical side effects. My boobs grew a half of a cup side but that was it for physical effects. I did, however, experience emotional and psychological side effects. I noticed that I rarely wanted to leave the house and had no desire to see friends. It made me extremely overdramatic and moody. I just switched to another BC because I was beginning to feel too depressed. I'm not certain that this depression is coming from Minastrin but it began around the time I started this pill."

For Birth Control "I have been on Minastrin for 7 months now. It is the first birth control I have ever been on. My OBGYN recommended I get on the pill due to severe cramping and unpredictable periods. During the first month, my breasts were very tender. I could not even stand to have a bra on. The first three cycles I had a strange brown discharge and the fourth cycle I completely skipped my period. However, since then my period has only been a day long, predictable, and very light. Other than the breast tenderness and weird cycles, the only other symptom I had was constipation. Overall, I found this pill to be wonderful. The only reason I am switching is because I have new insurance that no longer covers it."

For Birth Control "I have been taking minastrin for over a month now. I loved it at first because there was no nausea! I took it as soon as I got it to post pone my period for an upcoming cruise... I read from 3 reputable sources that it was fine. My period was really heavy and lasted for 9 days..... wtf I thought birth control was supposed to make them light. I also had painful cramps 8/9 days...... Again wtf.... Anyways, I've also noticed my vision isn't as sharp as it was before I started taking it and I most recently have had depressive thoughts. I was never like this before I took this mess. I won't be giving it time either. This is awful."

For Birth Control "I had been on a different BCP for over 20 years and had a generally low libido but pretty much no period with that pill. I went off to have a child then retuned to the same pill and became very emotional and depressed with a worse libido. My doctor changed me to Minastrin and my emotions were much better and libido improved also. I do get spotting the week before my period which is non existent. However now that I've been on this pill for over a year my weight has increased 14 pounds. I am so hungry and my blood sugar doesn't seem to be very steady ( I tend to get low blood sugar easily and am not a diabetic ). So now I'm really hungry and can eat as much as my husband and even though I'm exercising more I continue to gain weight."

For Birth Control "I have been on Lo Estrin 24 Fe or Minastrin 24 Fe for over 5 years now. Overall, I have had no problems with it. At first, I did gain some weight, but I was just entering high school at the time so it may not have been just from the birth control. Before, I had very irregular periods - with them coming about every 2 weeks and they were extremely heavy. Now I get my period every month at the same time for about 2-3 days and they are very light periods. Before birth control, I had a few cysts on my ovaries, which is why I was originally put on the pill and I have not had one in the last 5 years. I have never had acne either on or off the pill. I get very little cramps each month - usually only lasting a day."

For Birth Control "I am 20 years old, and I was prescribed minastrin after being diagnosed with PCOS. I can say I am definitely very happy with it! It made my periods very light and over time they eventually stopped (sometimes they occur for about 5 hours on the last day of the placebo pill). I have been on this pill for about 2 years now, and have not experienced any acne, weight gain, or nausea like other people have. Sometimes I get very moody before my period, but it is not extreme. The only thing I noticed for a period of time was constant yeast infections, which was pretty miserable. But after getting through that I am perfectly fine on this pill (and haven't gotten pregnant, so that's a plus too)"

For Birth Control "I was on Generess FE for about 2 years (loved it) and then could no longer afford it because it no longer had a activis card to use when paying for it. So, the doctor put me on Minastrin 24 FE. I believe this pill has made me gain a little bit of weight in a very short amount of time and my biggest concern is how it has effected me emotionally. I feel very moody and so unhappy, almost depressed. I also have no sex drive which I am not sure if that is from the pill or the slight depression from the pill. Either way it is just not working well with my body. I Can't wait to switch off of this pill."

For Birth Control "I haven't had any problems with the new pill. I had loestrin before they switched it over and I never had any problems with it then either. If anything it's made my period go away completely. I've been on both the old and new name combined for about 3 years now. The only thing that's changed is that they've made the chewable option which taste nasty so I just swallow it"

For Birth Control "I got on Minastrin, because I used to take Loestrin 24 Fe and my doctor told me it was the same thing, but just a different name. Loestrin was perfect - I didn't even feel the effects of the pill (never gained weight, suffered from mood swings, etc.). Minastrin was the complete opposite experience. I'm constantly crying, I'm in constant PMDD mode, and my sex drive is literally non-existent. I tore apart my relationship with my boyfriend, and I completely regret ever going on it. "

For Birth Control "1/10 does not even begin to describe my awful experience with this pill. I was on this pill for almost a week and had to stop it due to EXTREME mood swings and massive depression and anxiety. I have been on SSRIs for 7 years now and my depression and anxiety are relatively under control. From the minute I started this bc, I started gaining weight, breaking out and having intense mood swings to the point where I thought I needed to go to the hospital. My breaking point with this bc was one night when I went through the cycle of angry/violent thoughts, to intense anxiety, to feeling completely normal. That cycle happened about 5 times in an hour. After this experience I am now terrified to try another birth control method besides condoms."

For Birth Control "STAY AWAY FROM THIS PILL. This is my second month with this pill and let me tell you how horrible my experience has been. Sudden weight gain, like literally 15 lbs more during this past two months. Lately I've been very depressed, I've had two panic attacks, pain on my left arm and short of breath. I thought I was having heart problems and rushed to the ER and my heart is fine. This is all the pill, this pill is driving me crazy. I've never felt like this in my life. So many mood swings. I'm stopping these pills starting now. The only good thing is that your period is lighter and you get zero cramps. THATS IT."

For Birth Control "I was on Minastrin 24 Fe for nearly 5 months. During this time period I had horrible mood swings and I was constantly emotional. My boyfriend said that I didn't seem like myself. I also ended up gaining nearly 10 pounds and had very tender breasts all the time. I also would get awful cramps, backaches, and headaches during my periods. My periods were very light though! All in all, Minastrin 24 Fe was not for me. I have now switched to Loestrin and I already feel so much better."

For Birth Control "I started this pill as my first pill ever and it definitely helped with the intensity of my heavy bleeding issue prior to starting the pill. However, I noticed a lot of mood changes, a decrease in sex drive, weight gain, lots of spotting, and I never missed a pill. I am switching to Beyaz now hoping to get better results."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin then switched to Minastrin. I love both pills, and have zero problems. I used to be EXTREMELY hormonal without the pill, and I first got on it to even me out emotionally. The first pill I got on worked well, but my body got used to it after a year so I had to switch. I went to the shot, and when I first started going to my obgyn the first thing she did was get me off the shot and onto Loestrin. I love loestrin/minastrin so much."

For Birth Control "When I got my period at 12 I was getting it 2 times a month for 7 days each. Literally half of my life I was on my period. Then I was on a pill that was good ( Tilia Fe) and got my period regularly for 5 days at a time. Then my doctor told me about this pill and that her entire staff used it because they either got their period for 2 days or not at all. I was sold!!! And I'm still sold after a solid year on it. NO weight gain, NO cramps, NO mood swings, and I get my period for 1-2 days max!!!!! It's a miracle pill for me- I'm so sad to read such negative reviews about minastrin 24;( it's funny how pills are so different for people)! YAZ made me completely insane- it is very expensive though at $54 - I would pay a million$ I LOVE IT!!!!!"

For Birth Control "I took Loestrin 24 Fe for a number of years and had no issues. I stopped taking birth control for two years and recently started back, now on the Minastrin 24 Fe. I have been on it for two months, and have had daily headaches since starting. I have nausea off and on, gas/bloating and an inability to orgasm since starting it. It's not the same medicine at all. Plus a nice rash has begun on my chest. I went to my gyno and am switching asap."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin before it was discontinued and have been on minastrin for a little over a year now. Immediately starting, I stopped getting any sort of bleeding and started getting cyst zits around my second week of the pill each month (I never had any acne when I was a teen). This was tolerable until about nine months into the pill when I started getting large white heads all around my nose and chin. Bye bye minastrin!"
