For Birth Control "Loestrin 24 Fe was discontinued and I was switched to Minastrin 24 Fe. I was told it was the same exact pill, I had been on Loestrin for 4 years and never had a problem. Sadly Minastrin was not the same. I had horrible side effects from this pill, besides the weird periods I had mood swings that made me miserable. I also had a horrible allergic reaction to this medication. It was extremely unclear whether this has to be chewed or not. "

For Birth Control "I freaking love Minastrin 24 Fe! I was on Loestrin before, and when the generic came out, was happy to save money, but even better than that, now it's FREE with my insurance! Plus, I've been on this for, I don't know, 8-10 years, and don't have periods. At all. It's awesome! No periods, no cramping, no hormonal issues. Yes, I have women ask how can I tell if I'm pregnant, but I just don't worry about it. I use the pill and my husband uses a condom, and honestly, I had more worries about pregnancy before, because if you were a day or two late, it was total meltdown time. Now, it's just a non-issue in my mind. There are no negatives to this pill for me."

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I've ever taken and I've had a few mood swings, at the same time I'm still a teenager and hormones are flying everywhere so it doesn't truly bother me. I used to have terrible periods where I would have to miss school for a few days at a time and immediately the medicine fixed it. My period only occurs on the placebo days and is very light and with minor cramps that a few period relief pills help. Last month I did feel very sick during my placebo days and Im sure it's because I was taking it but not eating. I was told that would happens so I advise you to always eat before taking it. I also had terrible acne and it has cleared up immensely. Overall it's great for me."

For Birth Control "If I could give this pill less than a "1", I WOULD. I was switched to this pill by my OBGYN after I was told that the LoEstrin24FE I was previously taking was now Minastrin24FE. I was on the Loestrin for over 4 years with zero problems and zero side effects. Then the lovely Minastrin came in to my life and I immediately began to bloat and put on weight like I never had before. I have always been fairly lean for my height because I eat strict paleo and do crossfit approximately 4-5 times per week. EVEN WITH KEEPING ALL OF MY SAME HABITS I HAVE GAINED 10LBS. The weight gain, on top of the bloating, is more than enough for me to stop taking this pill because I would rather deal with the pain of endometriosis than deal with this weight gain."

For Birth Control "I was switched to Minastrin from Loestrin, just like everyone else. But unlike most, I am doing great on it! I was taking Loestrin for over 2 years and loved it. Minastrin has been the same for me, no unusual side effects at all. No acne, which I had when I was a teenager and still use Proactiv for. No unusual headaches or bleeding, etc. I rated it an 8 only because I don't like chewing it, its gross tasting but works good for me so I'm sticking with it."

For Birth Control "I had to switch over to Minastrin because Loestrin was discontinued. I've been on this pill for a year and a half now and it's the worst pill out there. I'm 21 and fit but I have developed varicose veins from this pill. Ever since I started they have been popping up everywhere on my legs. Also I have no sex drive putting a strain on my relationship. And I have gained over 30 pounds. I'm just dropping this pill all together."

For Birth Control "I was switched over to Minastrin 24 Fe from Loestrin 24 with no control over it. At first, I thought I was doing alright but no I am not. Because at the age of 42 my whole face is covered in blemishes and acne. I have not had this problem since I was 25. I have not changed anything that I am taking or any products that I am using or what I am eating. This is the only change in my routine. I am going to try to switch to something else."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Minastrin 24 Fe for 3 years now and I have no more cramps or period ever! My period stopped completely for a year now! Before I used to suffer from horrible cramps and heavy period but now I feel amazing every month! I totally recommend and wish I had found it when I was a teenager!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 7 months, and the only side effect I've experienced is that I no longer get my period at all. I've been to my doctor who says that this is completely normal. The reason I started taking Minastrin is because I had very severe period cramps that often caused me to throw up and pass out, and since I've stopped getting my period, obviously this problem has been solved."

For Birth Control "I've been on Minastrin for maybe less than a year and for my body it works great! I had no nausea, less cramping and bleeding and cleared my acne up. However, I did gain about 10 lbs and lots of bloating. Overall, it worked great. My periods were much lighter and lasted about 2-3 days, plus I haven't gotten pregnant. Unfortunately my insurance company does not cover it so I've been paying around 80$ per month. Keep in mind everyones body reacts to birth control differently so do not get overwhelmed with the negative reviews!"

For Birth Control "Like the others here, I had been on Loestrin 24Fe for about six years before I was forced to switch to Minastrin because they discontinued it. It was awful, gave me horrible mood swings and I kept having huge fights with my boyfriend and everyone and I knew it was this pill because that is not like me at all. As soon as I switched the mood swings went away."

For Birth Control "I wanted to write this review because I see others really struggling with Minastrin at first and I want to tell you - take heart! I'm in my second month on this pill, and the first was rough. I had mood swings, bloating and bleeding every day for a month. I felt miserable and was convinced I would stop taking this. However, took the very first pill of my second pack and every single symptom disappeared overnight. I don't have a single issue anymore and the bleeding stopped. Not even experiencing spotting. I know every body is different so I'm not saying this will work for you as well, but in my case, sticking it out that first month was so important. I'm really glad I stayed with it, and I hope you give it a chance too."

For Birth Control "I have tried so many different birth control pills for so long and could never find the right one. Then tried Minastrin Fe. I'm very pleased with it. It does make me a little more hungry. But I am aware it's only a side effect and ignore any extra appetite I may feel. In general it's a good pill!"

For Birth Control "This is my first time on birth control so I'm not comparing it to another brand. I started taking this to help with my extremely heavy and painful periods. Pros: periods are 3 or less days + are extremely light, I no longer experience horrible cramps, just very minor aches. I haven't gotten pregnant. only 4 placebo pills compared to 7, my skin cleared up. Cons: My transition period was rough - I spotted 20/30 days the first two months. I had extreme nausea the first month that killed my appetite. I still have occasional nausea, particularly at night, but I no longer spot. Only side effects I've noticed. It took care of my main problem though - heavy painful periods, so it's been worth it I will stick to it."

For Birth Control "I've been on birth control pills for 20 years now. After I had my daughter I started to have consecutive problems of urinary infection because my doctor decided to switch my pill to something that would not affect my breast milk. After I tried many different kinds of pills and other ways of contraception I was finally given the Loestrin, which changed my quality of life. No more urinary infections, which made my sex life and consequently my marriage much better. Never noticed major side effects. Then when I had to switch to Minastrin, everything was the same, as great as with Loestrin."

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I have ever been on, and it's awful. I only gave it a 10 because it does what it's suppose to. I've been on the pill for 6 months. The first three months I had severe acne. I've never had an acne problem until then. Spotting is a severe problem, I have to wear pads majority of the time (two weeks at the most with no spotting). Periods are very irregular, one day I'm good the next few days I'm not. I've experienced mood swings, and cramping. Not a good experience at all."

For Birth Control "I am 16 and have been on this for almost a year now. I like this medication because for me it has done a great job on easing my headaches and nausea. I still get some once in a while but it's not as bad as before. I have not had any real problems with my mood but I do see that I cry more often and sometimes get a little depressed, but I am able to blow it off. The only real criticism I have about this medication is that when I started on my period again it was regular then it stopped. COMPLETELY! but I was like what t?!? I would spot but at random times. For the year I have been using it I can say I have only got my period maybe twice. Very hard to know if ur preg without a period."

For Birth Control "Honestly I love this birth control so much. I've been on it for almost 3 years and I've never had any problems. I feel it has actually helped me to not gain weight, though I am naturally thin to begin with. No mood swings, no weight gain, no weird side effects for me. My hair seems to grow faster, like from my scalp... but no weird body hair growth (as I had on a progesterone-only pill I once tried out. yikes.) No acne. No problems. The only thing I would say is weird to most but really great IMO is that I haven't had a period on this stuff. I bleed lightly for 1 day once a year. I frequently have unprotected sex with my longterm committed partner and we've never had a problem. 10/10 would recommend."

For Birth Control "I have endometriosis and polycystic ovarian disease. Both of which have been proved via ultra sound and surgeries. I've been off birth control for 3 years and decided to start taking it again to preserve bit fertility I have left. After only a few days I felt what was similar to a UTI paired with throwing up. On top of that I have had panic attacks, high anxiety, suicidal thoughts, you name it. Following a heart to heart with a close friend, my mom and my sister I've realized the birth control definitely induced this. I haven't changed anything over the past except that. For anyone that has a very busy life, stressed anyways, or has any kind of underlying depression/anxiety- please be very careful when you take this."

For Birth Control "Absolute worst pill ever. I switched onto this pill bc I was having spotting and constant yeast infections on other pills. Switched onto minastrin in early December. Immediate weight gain. Not 1-2 lbs, 15lbs. I am an active female. I work out 4-5 times a week for 5-10 miles. I kept gaining weight no matter what. No sex drive. No period which is scary and a problem onto itself. I was just switched to another pill to see if these side effects diminish. Terrible pill. 15 pounds in 5 months. Not worth it. Stay away."

For Birth Control "I am 36 years old. I have previously been on Loestrin 24 FE then Generess FE. My physician switched me to Minastrin and I have gained weight, I am so lathargic and tired all of the time. I am moody and overall unhappy which I have never had in my life. I get cramps periodically and I get spotting at random times although very very light. This is the most horrible pill I have ever been on. I will be getting off of it immediately."

For Birth Control "hello ladies! well I started taking this pill about 3 1/2 MONTHS ago after taking Lo Loestrin for over a year, which btw I loved. I switched because apparently my doctor wanted me to get my period back and he thought that by increasing the estrogen dosage my period would ergo come back. Well, it didnt! So far I do NOT like this birth control. My mood has changed and so has my libido, which is crazy because I'm like the female version of Christian Grey (Fifty Shades of Grey reference) I gained 6 FREAKING pounds, I already can't see things that are far away and this pills has made it worse. I CANNOT wait to go back to Lo Loestrin. Hope my experience helps some of your ladies and please let me know if any of you also lost your period lol"

For Birth Control "Within a day of starting this, I started experiencing horrible side effects- my skin started to break out and my appetite was fluctuating drastically. But the worst part was the terrible mood swings. I became terribly depressed and was crying for an hour day for no reason. Couldn't finish the month."
