For Acne "This pill certainly works for birth control and my periods are significantly lighter and shorter, but the acne on my face worsened and I suddenly had back acne as well. I had to get another prescription for acne medicine to get that under control."

For Birth Control "I was so nervous reading the reviews, but I've had a great experience so far! My last prescription made me so nauseous I had to stop mid-pack (it was my first birth control experience too). I was scared to try Junel-Fe but I really love it so far! I've been more bloated than usual and my boobs have been sore, but other than that I am okay! Been taking at night to reduce nausea and that's been helpful, but sometimes I'll get a little dizzy during the day. Usually doesnt last long & can resume normal activities!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Junel Fe 1/20 for a while now. Decided to write a review because I know when I was googling b.c.’s I’d get nervous from all the negative reviews. I’ve only ever been on pills and have tried quite a few but have been sticking to this one because it works fine for the most part. I do feel like I’ve noticed holding water retention and bloating a lot more than with my microgestin fe which I loved. Junel fe hasn’t had any effects on my weight or appetite though and I’ve always had oily/combo skin but notice it’s sometimes more oily when I’m nearing my period. Overall I’d say for me, a 18 year old girl, it works and I get nervous reading bad reviews but the truth is it’ll work for some and not for others. I’d say try it out because it may work perfectly fine for you!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this now for a month and I LOVE it! My doctor prescribed it to me to take continuously - that way I can skip periods all together. I was very nervous to start it after reading reviews but I am SO glad I did! I was on camila before and since starting Junel my mood has improved significantly, I haven't gotten a real period yet, and my weight has actually steadied - it used to fluctuate to be higher, now if it even fluctuates I weigh less! The first week I was spotting - not even enough to have to wear a pad or anything. If you're considering taking this pill, I say to go for it! Everyone's body reacts differently and it might just work for you :) No bad side effects for me!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for about 5 months and I have no major complaints. I was on Lo Loestrin FE for 6 months prior but unfortunately had to switch because it was too expensive. The only thing I've noticed is that I get very emotional over tiny things unlike when I was on Lo Loestrin. My period is extremely regular. (Always comes on the first day of the placebo pill week, very light and only for about 3-4 days.) Also cleared up my skin big time and no weight gain at all. (I've actually lost 7 pounds since being on BC and have had very little change in my eating patterns and physical activity.) Would've given it a 10 if it weren't for the mood swings."

For Endometriosis "I have been suffering from endometriosis for 3 years. A low estrogen pill with iron "reminder" pills has been the only thing to help my severe cramps and bleeding. My periods are lighter but unfortunately not shorter. I'm willing to overlook that because I don't get nausea or headaches as much."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Junel for 4 years and have always thought the pill worked great. No pregnancy, no weight gain, lighter periods, etc. But now I am starting to wonder if my more frequent hair loss is because of it. My hair was very thick before starting the pill and now I have average to thin hair. It has really thinned my hair out by my part line, to the point where I don't feel comfortable putting my hair in a high bun without a headband. I never put two and two together but I also have no sex drive since starting the pill. After reading these reviews, I'm starting to wonder if its all because of the pill."

For Birth Control "Month 1 ok. Nothing that noticeable Month 2 extremely tired al the time. No patience, over emotional, beyond ragey. Full period on second week on the pack. Dry flaky patch on my usually non acne face. Headaches, some abdominal cramps. Want to give it a chance but the tiredness I can't deal with ...the side effects of feeling depressed."

For Birth Control "I was on the medication for 4 months. In the beginning, my period was fine. As time went on, my period got lighter and lighter and was eventually 2 days long. Usually I have a 4 day period so this freaked me out. I also had yellow/brown discharge. I took pregnancy tests and had blood work done and I'm not pregnant. I was very emotional from start to finish. I cried every week, nearly daily. My depression and anxiety was at it's worst in a while. The only good thing it did for me was I guess lighten my periods (way too much) and clear up my acne perfectly."

For Birth Control "I never feel compelled to review anything but this pill ruined me so badly that I feel I need to. I only lasted 2 weeks taking this pill. When on Junel Fe 1/20 had horrible head aches, nausea, and depression. I cried constantly for no reason I blew up on people for no reason, and my skin began to break out horribly. The worst part was the bloating. I have been bloated day and night for over a week. My weight is up from the water weight. I’m so uncomfortable 24/7. I stopped taking the pill and am now withdrawal bleeding heavy blood with the worst cramps I’ve ever had in my life. DO NOT take this birth control. It is ruining my life."

For Birth Control "I was on Junel Fe 1/20 for 2 weeks, and I changed instantly as a person, my personality changed dramatically, I didn’t even know who I was after being on this, I got depressed, I cried for no reason, I felt really crazy from it. As soon as I stopped taking it I felt instantly better, I became myself again."

For Birth Control "I have taken Junel Fe 1/20 for two months primarily as a method of birth control. So far, I have had a few episodes of mild nausea, and one more serious episode where the nausea was nearly immobilizing and accompanied with harsh pelvic pain and spotting. I have had some mood swings and low feelings -- though I experienced this prior in the form of PMS, too. My breasts seem slightly larger, though I have not gained weight otherwise. Prior to taking Junel Fe 1/20, I had very occasional breakouts, which I am still experiencing. I experienced spotting and light bleeding on the active pills -- which will hopefully subside as the hormones regulate."

For Birth Control "I was on Junel FE 1/20 for the 3 month adjustment period. Once I finished the 3rd pack I decided not to continue because every 3 weeks I was getting yeast infections. In total I had 4 infections during the 3 month period. As for my acne, it got worse the first 2 months and then better. Skin was really dry though. Sex drive decreased. Didn’t gain any weight though which was nice and my emotions were very stable even with my history of anxiety and depression."

For Birth Control "I'm in the middle of my fourth month on the pill, and during this month I feel much better! I had some weight gain at first, but that's okay now. My face is having a lot more issues with acne so that sucks. The worst thing was during the first three months I had spotting for two weeks then would be off for a week and would spot again for two week. It was light, but constant and annoying!! I kept telling myself I was going to change and make an appointment asap but hesitated because I wanted to wait it out and give it more of a chance. I reccomend people to do that with this pill because it's all evening out right, it just took time."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control Junel Fe 1/20 for 2 1/2 almost 3 years. The first 2 years were great. Cleared up my acne, no PMS symptoms, period was light, no side effects. This past year or 1/2 year, I have had nothing but issues. Periods are a bit heavier & irregular, for the first time I got migraines 3 days in a row with some nausea. I also have started having panic attacks, a bit of depression, & anxiety, which is so unlike me. Thinking about going off of this."

For Birth Control "I started Junel Fe in the summer of 2011 after being on Tri Lo Sprintec in 2010 and breaking out in severe hives the size of my fist. My doctor wanted to give me something that was low in estrogen. I was on Junel from august of 2011 until April of 2013. During this time my periods were regular down to the day of the week that I got them. However, my mood swings were TERRIBLE in the beginning. I mean bipolar jubilant to depressed in minutes. But that ended and it was perfect. I still had PMS and mild cramps but nothing insane like the beginning. The reason I changed was because they said Junel was not being made any more and my pharmacy gave me Gildess instead. All in all, regular periods and no pregnancy gets an A."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for about four months now and it’s been good to me so far. The first month my emotions were heightened a little bit but since then I’m back to normal. My periods are so light and I’ve only gained a couple pounds, which honestly is probably not even because of this birth control. Would recommend"

For Birth Control "I was dreading starting this birthcontrol of horror stories online & feared it'd worsen my anxiety/depression. The first 2 weeks were bad; chills, shakiness, body ache, nausea, crying, bloated, & swollen boobs. My dr. said to give it time & symptoms will ease as my body adjusts, & said to take it nightly to sleep thru the nausea. After first 2 weeks I was ok & I've taken it for 9 months with out issue, but: 1.) I take it nightly & if I wake up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night I'm nauseous & often dry heave. I'm often nauseous next morning too. 2.) I've not had a period since starting it. First few months I had spotting & the past 3 months I've had no period at all. My Dr. said it's common & I don't mind but miss knowing I'm not pregnant each month. It hasn't worsened my mental health & maybe even helps regulate my mood (having no period and no PMS). It's a very low dose & I feel anything stronger would give me more adverse symptoms, so I'm sticking with it because my body tolerates it relatively well."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "DO NOT go near this pill...gave it a few months to kick in per my gyno and I have no idea how she prescribed this horrible medication. I took it to regulate my period and now instead of one, I get two a month every two weeks or actually whenever it feels like coming. It has made me EXTREMELY emotional, sad, and easily angered by things that are normally nothing. I also got crazy hungry more than the typical Pms'ing days before. I can't stress enough to stay away from this."

For Birth Control "I took Junel Fe 1/20 for one month. Within 2 weeks I was throwing up everyday (up to 30 times) I couldn’t keep anything down and I was soo sick I couldn’t even get out of bed, I quickly put two and two together and realized it was the birth control. I stopped it and felt better the next day. It would make me deathly sick for like 16 hours! I also bled nonstop extremely heavily for 12 days and still going.."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL!!!! I have only been on Junel FE for 4 days and I could feel my anxiety increasing each day but last night I had a full blown anxiety attacked. I couldn’t sleep AT ALL, I threw up, I had the shakes, my chest felt like I was at the top of a roller coaster about to drop down and that feeling wouldn’t go away so I had to call off work today. After googling Junel FE I absolutely cannot believe this is on the market and that it was prescribed to me even while being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. This medicine drove me crazy."

For Birth Control "I started June Fe four months ago and never had a period on the days I took the hormone free iron pills. The first month I had lots of breakthrough bleeding and bled two weeks threw up almost everyday, had headaches daily, The second month bled four days thought ohhh yes! I can get used to this, couple weeks later into the third month I bled for two weeks again in mid pack, face broke out to the point of scaring, my thoughts have been awful. I’ve been anxious and then going into the fourth month I was emotionally unstable, crying, raging, I am a step mom of four kids and a mom to a daughter of my own I can’t be acting like this or bleeding to the point I think I’m bleeding out, I was supposed to start a pack Friday before Labor Day and I didn’t , I’m not and won’t ever again. I don’t recommend it to anyone. Now hopefully I won’t get knocked up lol"

"The first month I felt horrible. The next few months after I could feel my body getting used to it. About six months in I was slowly losing myself. I would lash out at my kids, boyfriend and even got into an altercation at my workplace. I stopped taking it midway through because I felt I was losing my mind. I’ve been off it about 2-3 months now but I now suffer from severe crippling depression and panic attacks and crying spells. My Doctor tried to put me on Prozac which I refused at first. I had to take a leave of absence from work because there were days I couldn’t get out the bed nor stop the crying spells. I went through a week of waking up between 5-6am vomiting and having panic attacks that almost ended me on the ER. I lost over 20 pounds, stopped eating, had no appetite. I describe it as “living inside my own head “ it’s awful and dark. I am 34years old and never suffered from depression. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BIRTH CONTROL TO MY WORST ENEMY."

For Birth Control "I am only on the begining of week two, however I've never had a lower sex drive in my life. I've also never been more nauseous in my life. I throw up nightly. Took a pregnancy test and I'm not pregnant. Unless it gets better after this packet of pills I'll be calling my pharmacist to switch to a different type of birth control."

For Birth Control "I actually recently got off of Junel, and since being off I realized I'm much happier, my sex drive has increased, I've been able to lose weight, and I'm not downright exhausted all the time. When I was still on it I'd notice right before my period I'd turn into a(n even more) psychotic, emotional wreck. I am also significantly less depressed now. I did not like the pill and these are my personal experiences, but of course everyone takes differently to medication."
