Mederma (emollients) "This gave me a Extreme Allergic Reaction Over Entire Body. Within three days, my feet were blood red, extremely itchy, hot and uncomfortable. Finally, I had to go to the emergency room. Treatment was only for my left foot, however, both feet, both legs, entire stomach, my mouth and lips are swollen. Inside my nose is scabbed. Still itching deep into my palms and Cannot STOP CLAWING my palms. Have discontinued for 5 days now and still itching! Still look like a burn victim with an extensive rash. My doctor did not recommend I place Mederma on moist skin. He also tried to push this off on a new soap? New food? WTHeck!"

Cetaphil Cleanser (emollients) "I bought this product because it was on my dermatologists lists of non-comedogenic cleansers she approved of. I used it and I felt this weird burning sensation and afterwards my skin itched. I thought it was just because I was using a new cleanser. Everyday I would notice my skin texture was getting rougher than before. I thought it was my prescribed medicine. On the fifth day, my face broke out in hives and redness and it itches so bad and it began to peel of at my chin. I then knew it was the cleanser because my medicine I'd been using a month prior never had side effects on my skin like this. Luckily I caught it in less than a week, and not months."

EpiCeram (emollients) "Cracked dry and itchy skin on my hands is much better after three weeks of use. I no longer fear getting my hands wet which used to cause a flare up of eczema especially on my knuckles. This is the best results I have had from any treatment in years. The only problem I did have was after putting it on my face after shaving (as directed by my doctor) vapors from the cream irritated my eyes."

CeraVe (emollients) "I had non-infected, red spots as well as uncolored bumps on my thighs and back of arms I thought might be from clogged pores or hair follicles. I tried CeraVe with salicylic acid, applying after showering. After third application, I awoke with what others described: elephant skin with large raised portions of skin that seemed like water was pooling under the surface, hundreds of red spots that were not there before, and a mild tingling I associate with too much sun. My first thought was to take Benadryl, but the symptoms reduced significantly after my next shower. I chalk the whole experience up to my sensitive skin, plus an obvious reaction to the ingredients in the product."

CeraVe (emollients) "I have been using CeraVe for almost 3 weeks. I liked it the first few days and then I got some dry patches on my cheeks and forehead. I kept using the moisturizing creme thinking it would help. A few days ago my eyes got puffy and the dry spots worse and today my face felt like it was on fire. I was miserable and made a trip to a First Care Clinic since it is Saturday. I got a steroid shot and am feeling better. She thought it was the CeraVe moisturizer."

Biafine (emollients) "Biafine was awesome at treating my dry skin areas of my elbows, knees, and feet. I live in an area where it is cold most of the time and my skin gets super dry in the winter. Biafine treated the dryness and helped my skin heal up good."

EpiCeram (emollients) "Our baby girl had eczema and the normal oat bath & moisturizing routine was not helping. We had to see a Pediatric Dermatologist who prescribed EpiCream for regular use and Hydrocortisone cream for the more stubborn instances. We were honestly sceptical about using EpiCream and did not think this overpriced product will help, but nevertheless gave it a try. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the product worked very well for our baby and the eczema almost disappeared within 48 hours of usage. I have to agree with the reviewer earlier who mentioned that the cream creates more of a stinging sensation for the baby than a tingling sensation as mentioned by the manufacturers. Happy to be proven wrong in this instance."

Biafine (emollients) "I had two facial skin biopsies performed by a dermatologist who gave me several packets of Polysporin to aid in wound healing. I had a horrible reaction to this salve (itching, redness, draining). I went back to this doctor who looked at the wounds and told me I had an allergic reaction, discontinue it, and substitute with Vaseline. After several days of using Vaseline this also didn't help at all, I went to another dermatologist who examined my wounds and gave me two sample tubes of Biafine. Within two days I was sooooooooo much better. Redness, itching and wound weeping were down considerably. I firmly believe that if I had Biafine right away, I would not have suffered as I did."

CeraVe (emollients) "My cheeks became puffy and bright red. Maybe it was the hyaluronic acid. Checked out online ratings, this produce is very low. 1.4/10. Disappointing that CeraVe would put this product on the market. Look for something else to use on my face after shaving and shower to keep face from drying out."

Cetaphil Cream (emollients) "I have used Cetaphil for a long time because it is dermatologist recommended for sensitive skin. However, I recently purchased a new bottle and didn’t pay attention to the addition of b5. I used a lotion with b5 previously that caused a prickly rash where I used the lotion. The itching was unbearable. I realized what was causing it and used a prescribed steroid cream to clear it up. So, I thought it was safe to just go back to Cetaphil, and it was until recently. I went to use it the other night without worrying about what’s in it because it was Cetaphil. The next day, I had a ready eerily similar to the one that had b5 in it. I went and looked at the bottle, and sure enough Cetaphil has b5 in it. So, not really made for all sensitive skin types and I’m now trying to get rid of this itchy rash again. They say b5 is safe to use, but it causes insane rashes on my skin when I use it."

Bag Balm (emollients) "My grandson had a severe diaper rash. Well his boom boom was severely irritated from him having watery bowel movements for months. I would clear it up n it would come back. Soon as i applied it he was all smiles n back to being busy. Prior my daughter read the can rather than Googling its uses. I came in from work laid my grandson down n told her to hold his arms while i applied the bag balm. It's like he knew what it was going to do No scratching no grabbing at his secret area. This stuff is a true life saver. So whoever made the recommendation God Bless you."

Cetaphil Cream (emollients) "My skin ABSOLUTELY did not agree with this product. I am disappointed and mad at it. I got a really bad rash and burning and itching and anything you would hate having on my face from this product. I’ve had small red bumps all over my face it dried my skin to the max it ruined everything. I am in pain it’s been three days and it still hurts when I shower and wash my face. 0/10 would not recommend"

Dermasil Lotion (emollients) "I give this product a nine--at least. I have excess dry skin on my legs and arms. Sometimes it's so dry that I itch. This lotion is the only thing I have found that actually works and keeps working throughout the day. I apply a nice coat over my legs and arms daily. No more dry skin or itchiness. It's easy to find and affordable. I've even found it in the Dollar Store. I recommend trying it as a body lotion...it really works!!!"

Bag Balm (emollients) "For five minutes a day five days a week, seven weeks, I had radiation therapy on my vocal chords. Redness quickly developed. The last week i had gruesome raw looking painful gouges on my neck. The medicine from my care takers was painful on these . My sister, Sheri, reminded me of 'Bag Balm'. As a family we have used this product for several generations. I put some on, liberally. Pain was minimized and healing started. The visual difference before and after is startling. Great goop!"

EpiCeram (emollients) "Went to see my derm about a spot above my eyebrow and my hella dry skin and she knew right away that I have Basal Cell Carcinoma above my eyebrow and a rash all over my face that isn't dry skin. They did a biopsy of the cancer and then gave me a sample of this Epiceram for the rash/dry skin, I instantly fell in love with this medicine and then noticed on GoodRx how expensive it is. You can get it much cheaper through your derm so that's what I will have to do but this medicine has already made a serious difference in my skin in less than 12 hours."

I woke up one morning with huge scaly patches all over my eyes. My under eyes now look and feels like elephant skin! This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a “beauty product”."

Gold Bond Ultimate Healing (emollients) "I was also one of the unlucky ones that experienced getting a very bad red, raised, extremely itchy rash. Couldn’t for the life of me figure out what was going on, went to the doctor and got a cortisone shot and was on steroids for a week and nothing helped.... because I kept using the lotion. Finally narrowed it down and googled Goldbond allergic reaction... sure enough it’s the lotion. I guess I’m just thankful I finally figured it out. Definitely won’t be using ever again."

CeraVe Facial Moisturizing (emollients) "My daughter tried this per her dermatologist. First 2 times it didn’t bother her except she thought another product for blackheads might be causing some stinging. Third time she used it (it was the only thing put on her face after showering with products she has used for years) went to class, and by 4-5 hours later she had horrible awful redness especially around and under her eyes, and it feels like a sunburn. Washed face, has splashed it several times, & waiting to see if an ER visit will be necessary. Wish I could post a pic of what this stuff caused- it is very scary & she is away at college. Thank God there is a roommate there who could help in an emergency. Internet research reveals quite a few irritation reactions and a number affecting eyes."

The only problem is he screams every time we put it on him so its more like stinging for the first 10 - 15 min, rather then tingling as listed in side effects."
