dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Dicyclomine was ordered by my doctor to treat my irritable bowel syndrome. I have found it to work very well for that purpose. I would get terrible stomach cramps and diarrhea after eating sometimes it would start before i would even finish my food. If I take this drug about a half hour before I eat, I have close to no symptoms. The only thing is that I wish it was given to me sooner, it would have saved me quite a bit of suffering.

dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Bentyl is a lifesaver. As soon as I have a IBS spell
coming on I take my Bentyl and within 15 to 20 minutes I can feel the relief from my symptoms. Its great. I don't like taking pills everyday unless needed and
this pill does the trick. I have been using Bentyl for
about 7 years now and have had no side effects from it.

Bentyl (dicyclomine) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Bentyl has made a world of a difference to me. I no longer have quick spasms where I have to run to the bathroom. I can finally live my life without worrying if I will be able to make it to the bathroom or not. Of course, not all of my symptoms are completely gone but I don't think that is possible with IBS.

dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I had pancreatitis 2 years ago, then ended up with IBS. Doctor prescribed this to me. It really worked on the cramps and gas. The only thing I didn't like is it made me feel weird, a little fuzzy headed and made me sleepy.

Bentyl (dicyclomine) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I have had stomach issues since I was a kid. I was recently prescribed Bentyl up to 4 times a day. It works great, calms my stomach and digestive system down like nothing else I have tried over the counter in the stores has. It can make me a little fuzzy headed or tired on occasion but it doesn't happen every time. I will take that small side effect over my stomach problems any day. I highly recommend it.

Bentyl (dicyclomine) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: After being diagnosed with iriitable bowel syndrome with constipation, I was started on Bentyl 20mg up to 4 times a day. At first I was not happy with the tiredness so I only took twice daily, but now I take it 3-4 times a day as needed. Although it doesn't eliminate all of the cramping and gas pains, it does make a huge difference.

dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I was having horrible debilitating stomach cramps on and off for about 3 months. I went to the doctor and he gave me dicyclomine and told me to take one every 4 hours the next time I had cramps. I took a total of two capsules, and the cramps went away forever. Great stuff.

Bentyl (dicyclomine) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Overall, the Bentyl works really good but at times, the spasms get to be to much that I take a prescription pain pill along with the Bentyl. Works great.

Bentyl (dicyclomine) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I find since taking Bentyl 10mg twice a day, I have a very salty taste in my mouth and I salivate more. Even though a side effect is dry mouth.

Bentyl (dicyclomine) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I've been suffering for two weeks before I got perscribed Bentyl. Bentyl has helped greatly and helped with the urgency I was feeling. I don't like the drowsy feeling it leaves but I suppose I'd rather have the tiredness than the constant problem of "going". Bentyl has been a good medicine for me. I recommend it to others who suffer from irritable bowel syndrome or other problems!

Bentyl (dicyclomine): I was prescribed this medicine for diarrhea associated with a bad case of Giardia I picked up. It not only gave my bowels a rest but eased the cramping and dulled the pain. I found it an excellent sleep enhancer as well, which is about all you want to do when in the midst of a cramping bowel attack.
dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: This medicine has literally changed my life. I went from being afraid to go out to eat because I didn't know how my body would react, to being able to eat anything I want at any time without any stomach upset. It made my mouth really dry when I first started taking it, but that went away within a week. Slight additional drowsiness on occasion. I also get drunk very quickly when drinking alcohol on this medication. Those are the only downfalls - but they're so worth it.
Bentyl (dicyclomine) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Just started taking it and it really hasn't helped much at all. One nasty side effect I'm having is that every time I take a pill I have a fever spike that runs up to around 101 and my vision is blurred. I have no idea why it's doing this to me.
dicyclomine for Colitis: Agree with other posters saying this medicine is a lifesaver, at least as far as quality of life! Was suffering from colitis post gastroenteritis for four days with low grade fever (100.5) and finally couldn't take the pain. Was prescribed Bentyl with Flagyl and doxycycline for the colitis. Starting working within hours to relieve the terrible cramping and bloating.
dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I love this medication. Yes it makes me tired, but it beats going to the bathroom all day. I have little to no cramping anymore and owe it all to this. I would be the perfect poster child for this medication.
dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I really am grateful for my doctor prescribing this for me. I personally only take one when I am having an episode (even though the bottle says something different. I don't like taking pills if I don't need too), and within a few minutes I'm feeling more relaxed. The only side effect that I seem to have is I get a little "loopy", dizzy and tired as well... but maybe the tiredness is from everything being released from my body. Not sure... I do NOT drive while the medicine is in my body because my judgement and reflexes are a bit slower then normal. When my daughter was a week old, I had an irritable bowel syndrome episode. I took a pill and then I was unable to breastfeed for 24 hours. I just pumped and dumped. Otherwise, I love this.
dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: This medicine works great for my abdominal pain, but it doesn't stop it completely. I still feel nausea almost every hour of the day, but I do have a slight appetite back compared to before I0 started taking this. I can tell that it's working because I will start feeling more sick and more pain and realize it's been four hours and need to take another dose. A downfall that is almost making me want to stop taking this is that it makes me so tired I can't focus on anything, and I can barely function. My memory is horrible and it bothers me a lot when I am in the middle of doing something and forget what I was doing.
dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I had horrible pain for months before I was diagnosed. Twenty minutes after I took the first pill my pain disappeared! Forty minutes after I took that pill I was goofy. I became extremely loopy and that lasted about four hours. I gave a lot of hugs that night.
Now I take half a dose at bedtime and that seems to be keeping the irritable bowel syndrome under control.
If I take it more than once a day my throat swells up and my vision blurs. Also, my mouth is dry all the time now.
UPDATE: After taking it for a couple weeks the loopiness lessened I am no longer feel drunk when I am on it BUT now when I take it I start sneezing and become VERY congested. I can only take it with an allergy pill now or this side effect is horrible.
dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome: I just started today and I do feel very sleepy but I am noticing less gas and cramps I'm happy! I hope this works.
