For High Blood Pressure "I was surprised to see the serious difficulties some folks had. My primary couldn't find a HBP Med that would work. He tried maybe 5 different kinds none worked till Carvedilol. My HBP dropped to a regular number in 2 hours or less, I have no side effects. Been taking 25mg am & 25pm for 3 years."

For High Blood Pressure "While being care giver for my dying husband I rarely remembered to take BP meds. One day I felt terrible and checked my BP. It was 120/111. Trip to doc. Put on increasing doses of Carvedilol, up to 25mg twice a day with zero results. Lowest BP 147/89 usually 190/86. Do not feel this is working and have asked doctor to try something else. Problem is systolic is much higher but diastolic is not. Doctor says my heart is good and lungs clear despite having the flu. I am 82 years old. Had a stress test two years ago, which was perfect. I am hoping she may add something to bring down the systolic. I have had few side effects"

For Heart Failure "Symptoms using Generic: Sudden severe weakness nearly always occurring mid morning, blood pressure plummets and one time it went so low my defibrillator had to zap me. There is a difference between Coreg brand drug and generic carvedilol. I have been in the ER many times in the past because of it and they found nothing each time. Thanks to O-care coreg costs $110 out of pocket now and I cannot take the generic for very long without the side effect I stated. Cure: Short term: drink some V8. The potassium in it will help reregulate your heart quickly Long term: Pay for Coreg BRAND prescription. Well, It is very hard to afford this so what I do is take Coreg once every 3-4 days and this seems to keep the issue from occurring"

For High Blood Pressure "(Carvedilol 25 ) This drug makes me feel terrible, it makes me very sleepy, it makes me have nightmares. I forget this and I get confused, I also get depressed and don't care about anything or being around anyone. Most of the time I am awake at 4 and never go back to sleep but it does keep my BP down."

For Atrial Fibrillation "I've been on Carvedilol since June of 2018. I started off with 3.125mg and my Cardiologist just increased the dosage to 6.25 because it helps to stop the PVC's and palps I had started to experience in April of 2019. My pacemaker picked up a very small Afib event that happened in April of 2019 during my period of throwing PVC's. I started to take "Tumeric" to see if it would reduce the chronic body pain and "It Did". I also found out after I started taking it my, "PVC's Went Away". I saw my cardiologist after I started taking the Tumeric and asked him to increase my dose of "Carvedilol" and he did. This combination of Carvedilol and Tumeric worked out well for me. I haven't felt any incidences of Afib even though all the causes of the PVC's are still there. It appears any Afib, PVC's and Palps are under control but I won't know it's a sure thing for another year or more after my pacemaker is checked for events about 4 more times."

For High Blood Pressure "Carvedilol was added to current medication, Losartan, I am taking. It is NOT helping lowering my BP. And after having taken Carvedilol for three months, I started having terrible headache (back and both sides), upset stomach (feeling nauseous) issues. I plan to ask my doctor to approve me to stop Carvedilol."

For High Blood Pressure "I just started taking this med once a day with the 6.25 dosage and it really did not help much. Blood pressure was still high. My doc recommended taking this twice a day, but lowering the dosage to 3.125, once in the morning and once at night. It made a huge difference. It took a month or so, but there were no longer erratic/high readings in blood pressure. I got it under control on a consistent basis. Instead, there were consistent normal readings on my blood pressure along with my pulse rate being normal/lower than what it was before..."

For High Blood Pressure "OK so my blood pressure shot up to 240/140 with a 140 heart rate. It stayed that way while I was in the emergency room. It was early September. Maybe because I’m a nurse but also because I question everything I also saw that my calcium levels were up and I remembered they had been up before at my doc appt labs. My doctors always dismissed it. This time I did my own research. I was not taking any calcium supplements. I asked for a vitamin D and PTH level to be drawn. Voila, I have hyperparathyroidism. I am perceiving that’s why my blood pressure has been an issue for quite some time but we worse after getting Covid this year. Still better than getting the vax. I am taking 10 mg amlodipine 45 mg of losartan and most recently started carvedilol 6.25mg 2x/day. I am having stomach pain, nausea, and fatigue. I’m going to talk to the cardiologist about getting off this crap tomorrow. I will tolerate possibly a lower dose but I wanna know why it’s causing G.I. issues."

For Heart Failure "2 weeks into taking Coreg CR 10 mg I noticed blurring vision, felt like I was walking with a lean to the right side and dizzy kinda like after 4 beers chugged in 10 minutes and would break out in cold sweats with chest tightness. I quit for 1 day and called nurse telling her the above. She agreed no more CR at 10 mg so I switched to the 3.125 mg morning and evening dosage. Wow what a difference in how you feel and act. The reason I am on this drug is I had my lungs fill up with fluid and they have no idea the reason as to why as I was in bed and merely rolled over oxygen level tumbled down into the 60's and I had very bad wheezing and felt as if I were drowning and I know that sensation all too well. But without any form of insurance I could not have all the test most people get but I did have a nuclear stress which showed no blockages and the echo showed a EF of 34% so the diagnosis was CHF ."

Coreg CR (carvedilol) for High Blood Pressure "Switched from Atenolol after many years due to usual beta blocker problems (tiredness, etc) and blood pressure wouldn't stay down long, tightness in chest and breathlessness. After 3 months on Coreg CR, tightness in chest much better, breathlessness no change, blood pressure stays down all day, but is 147/91 at night and in the morning. It is 113/57 two hours after medication, but I am also taking Isosorbide ER at the same time, which also lowers blood pressure as a side effect. Coreg CR is much more expensive, but I would rather take this anytime compared to Atenolol. Also beware of mixing these with Nasonex (no matter what they say) and any cold decongestants with phenylephrine. They will increase blood pressure."

My wife was in a wheelchair, & I pushed her all through the airport, lifted luggage , ate whatever I wanted, salt was not a restriction!!! Coreg changed all thr At in 8 weeks! I ended up developing bradycardia ! (Slow heartbeat) I could it rt it back! Now they tell me I have developed amyloidosis(?) overly hat slowing my heart rate had something to do with this, no matter what they say!"

For High Blood Pressure "If you are have to use EpiPen and you are taking any Coreg/Carvedilol, it can be LIFE THREATENING!. I found this out in ER after being bitten by (baby wasp) Cow Ant. We were just a few miles from hospital when I was bitten, so we went straight there, The ER Dr. told us what a good thing that I didn't use the Epi Pen said the combination with this bp med would have stopped or slowed my heart to very danger. Said Cardiologists are just getting this message. I had nearly died years ago from wasp bite, and have carried an Epi Pen. I didn't even know big red Cow Ant is baby wasp, my son was with us, and I got bit by one in the garden, and he said get to hospital now as this ant is wasp. Yes, the Drs. verified that too. Also, after 5 years of this bp med and I did loose 40 pounds, it has become too strong, (low bp) dosage was reduced, and most likely will be trying Cardizem in next week."

For Heart Failure "Started taking carvedilol the first week of May. My EF is at 33%. In the first week I already felt a difference. Prior symptoms were chest pressure, shortness if breathe, extreme fatigue. I would say these symptoms are 80% gone now. I feel it's time to start my cardio workouts again! In two months I will have another echocariogram. Hopefully I see some improvements. Also I would like to add that in some reviews I read of people combining CoQ10 with this medicine and I am now taking it as well. I feel more energized and I feel it makes side effect of carvedilol dissipate with it."

For High Blood Pressure "Just do yourself a favor and don't even bother with this medication! I am a 32 year old female that has been sick for 5 months now with unexplained high blood pressure and fast sinus tachycardia. I've never had problems like this ever before so doctors are blaming Covid, but don't actually know what the cause is. I was on propranolol since being in and out of the hospital with high heart rate and blood pressure and after being on it at 20 mg three times a day my blood pressure and heart rate was finally normal but it started causing me severe mental side effects. I had brain fog and confusion all the time vivid dreams and nightmares severe anxiety paranoia and panic attacks so after begging my doctor to please switch me to something else she gave me this medication carvedilol 6.25 mgs twice a day I took it and I felt like I was dying and my heart was going to explode out of my chest. I couldn't walk my heart was racing and pounding. I had severe body pain, confusion, drowsiness and ER visit."

For Heart Failure "I have had always had low BP and am very active. After Mitral Valve surgery, my ejection fraction (EF) was 29. I could still play tennis and lift weights even though the doctor was not sure how. He put me on Coreg to strengthen my EF, but it has no effect because lowering low BP and whatever else it supposed to do does not work. If I had high BP, maybe it would help, but it has only gone sideways or slightly down since I have been on Coreg for 6 months. I still play tennis, etc. The medicine should not be prescribed for people with Low BP in my opinion, but was told it is what is indicated for low EF."

For High Blood Pressure "I just want to comment about the reviews. My wife had a heart attack three months ago. One of her medications was carvedilol, 6.25mg x2 daily. She was also on Lisinopril 5mg plus other heart related meds. It seems that everyone has a different experience with any of the BP, heart meds. It doesn't sound like the docs ever sit sit down with the patient and explain what to expect with taking of meds, especially two or more to treat the same condition. My wife is now on four different meds for BP. Her initial BP after two weeks out of hospital was in the 100-115/75-85 range. First visit, increased Carvedilol to 12.5mg 2x daily, next visit increase lisinopril to 20 mg/day, next visit prescribed spironolactone, last visit Jardiance. She feels like rubbish now. BP down but at what cost. I just don't get it. I am keen to include a pharmacist into the visit and prescribing 10 days of pills, not 30 days and then they should do a review."

For Atrial Fibrillation "In October of 2015, I experienced a defibrillation, after 3 days in the hospital it was determined that I was to have a triple bypass. A week after I had that operation I had another defibrillation. I had average to low pressure prior to my surgery and defibrillation, my cardiologist put me on Cardevilol generic 3.125 twice a day to help my heart gain strength after the operation. I also had a Defibrillator installed. In the beginning of my recuperation I didn't feel anything but as time went on I felt tired, gained weight and after 8 months started to experience dizzy spells when getting up or laying down. Moodiness, lack of sex drive were also side effects that hit me. My doctor has now taken me off the medication. Let's see any change"

For Heart Failure "I am doing so much better with carvediol than I did with Coreg. I know, I know, it's the same thing, but the dosage choices are much broader than with Coreg. I was having difficulty with the 20mg (1x daily) Coreg and switched to 6.25mg (2x daily) carvedilol and all the side effects went away (both drowsiness and dizziness). It has been three months since the switch and I am as happy as a person can be having to take medication(s)."

Coreg CR (carvedilol) for High Blood Pressure "Switched from atenolol to Coreg CR to avoid the wall I would hit when doing cardio-exercise. I felt less of the wall from the cardiac side, but seemed to not breath as easily while doing cardio and while at rest. Felt like I had to force myself to take deep breaths on Coreg CR. Never had that happen with atenolol. Also, lost some libido on Coreg CR which wasn't an issue with atenolol. Switched back to atenolol and these issues all went away. "

For High Blood Pressure "I was fine on 25 mg Carvedilol by aurolife pharma and teva pharma, but now Walmart uses Bluepoint Pharma and it no longer controls my blood pressure. Switching back to Aurolife resolves problem caused by Bluepoint? Evidently Walmart cannot order from other distributors so I must find a different pharmacy? Humana Walmart used in non walmart pharmacy is more expensive but necessary if their product doesn't work."

For Atrial Fibrillation "I have been on Bisoprolol for six years and have had severe fatigue from this, sleeping up to 13/14 hours every day. My doctor changed me to Carvedilol in the hope these side effects would improve. I started off on an initial dose of 12.5mg a day. From the first nights sleep, I suffered with insomnia, sleeping for five hours that night. I felt more awake, even though less sleep. After two days, I started to get tightening of muscles in my face, hands, arms and legs and abdominal pain. After increasing to 25mg on week two, I felt terrible. Four hours sleep for two weeks, muzzy confused feelings, feeling sick, joint pain - I couldn't bear how I felt. To top it off, drug induced sleep apnea was the last straw. I came off it."

For Heart Failure "I have used Carvedilol for 4 years after being diagnosed having heart failure at 45. I have never had any issues. I started with an EF of 33 and 2 years ago after my echocardiogram was told it was up to 55. I did gain some weight but a lot of that was from not moving around, I was so scared that I was gonna have a heart attack or something if I did. All in all, I've had a good experience using this drug."

For Atrial Fibrillation "Prescribed 6.25 mg Carvedilol 2x a day for my Rapid heart beat and blockage in main artery. . Second week and I am not liking it. Was on 25 mg Metoporal for 10 years; tolerated it well except for years of sleeplessness and it kept my bp in good range 128/77. Now on Carvedilol my bp is higher with spikes. I feel off, dizzy, vivid dreams turning into nightmare last night. First few days I was having bad stomach pains until I started taking med after food. I am afraid to take any other medications like Allergy meds and Ibuprofen. I am also waking up with a headache and felt like I was having an allergic reaction. Rapid heart beat a little less. Maybe side effects will subside? I hope."

Can this be white coat syndrome? Anyway doctor is switching me to another medicine. This next medicine will be my 6th blood pressure medicine."
