Carvedilol Pregnancy Warnings
Carvedilol has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have revealed evidence of fetotoxicity and teratogenicity at high human doses. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Carvedilol should only be given during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk.
Carvedilol Breastfeeding Warnings
There are no data on the excretion of carvedilol into human milk. Studies in rats have shown that carvedilol crosses the placental barrier and is excreted in breast milk.
