Mirvaso (brimonidine) "Lifesaver! Here's the secret to applying Mirvaso. Firstly, Mirvaso is NOT meant to be worn everyday. Only occasional use. I only put it on before situations i normally flush or blush. Instructions: Wash face. Put a TINY pea sized amount on your fingertip with pea sized moisturizer on same finger tip. Rub them both into one cheek. Do same for other cheek. Apply regular meds (mine is metrogel) Then apply overall moisturizer. Then any makeup. Soon as you get home, wash/moisturize face. Sooner you wash it off the better. I have done this many times with no rebound effect. Seriously is my favorite drug for my rosacea. It's the only one that stops flushing/ blushing in it's tracks. Just last weekend we were visiting friends and i felt a blush episode coming. I excused myself to the bathroom to apply Mirvaso. 15 minutes later i re-entered with zero reddness. My anxiety went away, and i was relaxed and felt in control and able to enjoy my friends. Thank you Mirvaso!!"

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "I didn't give Mirvaso a 0 or a 1 because it really does what it claims. I had mild rosacea and it seriously took it away within 30 minutes to an hour. The effect lasts about 10-12 hrs, and even by the time I'm going to sleep the returning pinkness is only very mild...but then in the morning it's on fuego. I don't feel my face burning or anything, but it's redder than my original starting point. I kept with the Mirvaso for a few days because even with the seemingly stronger redness I would wake up with, the Mirvaso would always erase it like magic for 10-12 hrs. Eventually the redness got so strong in the morning I stopped using it. It's been 3 days and my face is still way redder than usual with a few pimples which I usually don't get."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "I tried Mirvaso as recommended by my dermatologist. He gave me samples to try. The first few days using it, I was so excited. My face looked clear of redness and "normal". I loved what I saw and thought there was finally something out there that would combat the redness for good. After a few days at night when I washed off the medication, I noticed that my face looked redder than ever. It looked red like a tomato and a little swollen. I continued using the medication thinking it was my skin adjusting to it. Wrong! The redness only continued and got worse. I stopped using Mirvaso for good. Hopefully others have a better outcome than I did."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "My dermatologist gave me samples of Mirvaso. I’m sure glad I didn’t pay for this horrible, damaging cream. Like others, it worked great for me at first. But the rebound has been absolutely awful - so much worse than the original redness. I really wish I had read reviews before trying it. Hopefully others will be wiser than I and see all of these horror stories before suffering the same fate. If you’re thinking of trying Mirvaso, don’t! Just don’t."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "I don't normally review products I've used, but I made sure to share my experience with Mirvaso. I am 20 and have had extreme redness for about 12 years now. I finally went to the dermatologist who then recommended mirvaso. I used it for about four days. The first day seemed to take away the redness completely. Thrilled, I continued use and it went downhill quickly. After the 6-8 hours of clear skin was up, it flared up way worse than it was before. I stopped using it but still see splotches of intense red all over. DO NOT USE. Waste of time."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT! My 15 year old son is light-skinned, blonde and blue eyed and tends to flush(German descent). This bothered him, so we spoke to his dermatologist and she prescribed Mirvaso. He was so excited to try it and applied it thinly over his face. Within 20 minutes his skin was deathly pale with mottling at the edges and around his eyes. He looked terrible. Within 10 hours, his face started turning an angry red as if he had been slapped repeatedly. He then started feeling faint. I took him to the med clinic and the doctor there prescribed steroids to reduce inflammation and Benadryl. We are still waiting anxiously for his handsome face to return to normal. This is after ONE use."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "A dermatologist prescribed Mirvaso to me for my rosacea and it cost nearly $80 for the tube. I used it for 2 days and my faced swelled up and blistered and I got a rough itchy shocking rash. My faced looked terribly burnt and I stopped using it immediately. I wouldn’t recommend this product to anyone."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "Bottom line: Didn't work for me. I had wanted to try this a few years back but it was too expensive even with insurance. I went to (yet another) derm to see if he had any new suggestions for my redness and he Rx'd this. He gave me a sample and info for a company he uses, IRMAT, that will guarantee cost of $80 if your insurance will not cover. I used the sample, which only lasted 3 days, and thought perhaps it was working so I filled the Rx. After about 7 days, my redness was worse AND I broke out, which I don't normally do. I had to stop using it and go back to my MetroGel but the redness will not subside and the breakouts won't go away either. So back to the derm I go...."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "Wish I had read these reviews before wasting $86. First application was at night next morning the redness was gone second night a little while after using had bright red cheeks gave it one more try my cheeks and nose were red and had pimples over nose face very hot and burning this took days to settle down. Have gone back to using Rozex. Galderma must know this product causes more problems to us who suffer from rosacea. They should have to refund money wasted on this product. Don't touch this product bad news."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "I have rosacea and my dermatologist recently prescribed me Mirvaso for my erythema. It's good for removing the redness but it's only temporary and after 6-8 hours the redness comes back even stronger than before. Can be useful for exceptional situations where you want to hide your redness but apart from that it actually makes my rosacea worse so I wouldn't recommend spending 65$ for it."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "My derm gave me some samples to try because I can't afford laser treatments. Applied some on day one. A little sting but that was gone quickly. Within minutes I noticed a definite reduction in the redness. Within an hour my face was just slightly pink. Spent the day enjoying not having to look at the deep red on my face in the mirror. Day two was a different story. The rebound was so bad the redness was back even worse than before and the pain was excruciating. Even had some puffiness like my skin was rebelling. I chucked all the samples in the trash. I'll never Mirvaso again. Hope others have better luck."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "This Mirvaso is awful medicine. I used it the past two days but not today. I've had redness all three days but today's redness is the worst. The heat coming off my cheeks is some of the worst I've ever experienced. I already use Metro cream and it manages my rosacea well but I also have Mirvaso and decided to give it one more try. Never again. This stuff makes me feel so ill. They should not be able to sell this overpriced, awful medicine."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "I used it for 3 days straight, worked wonderfully. The rebound redness would come on after about 5 or 6 hours, so I just put on more medicine. Started to have stomach issues, not sure if related but figured I'd stop the treatment to see if that fixed the issue. The rebound redness came back and 3 days later hasn't left. I had very mild rosacea before this, now I look as if I've been sitting near a fire. My face is so red it's almost purple, and it burns like crazy. I feel like my face is several degrees hotter than the rest of my body. I have NEVER had such a red face! I will ever use this stuff again. If you are going to try it, start out using a very very small amount, as maybe I used way too much. As for me, never again!"

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "I was diagnosed with rosacea earlier this year after I was trying to treat my own skin and it became out of control. My dermatologist started me out with a cream for the inflammation then on my second visit -one month later -recommended mirvaso for the redness I was experiencing. From the first use I had a major improvement in the reduction of redness. I have not experienced any problems (rash, rebound, worsening, etc.) I use it almost every day but do take a day off every so often. I know that everyone’s skin is unique so the only way to know if it works is to try it for yourself. I was worried after reading so many negative reviews but it has been a positive change for my skin. The instructions say to use a full pump on the five areas of the face and I find I do not need to use nearly that much. My insurance does help with the product but I am left with a fair amount to cover which I find worth it at this point because of the improvement I have seen."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "My rosacea is only noticeable/active during the winter and after hot showers. I was mostly being vain when asking for this, and truly learned my lesson. I used Mirvaso twice (pea- sized amounts) and while it made getting ready in the morning easier for those two days because it worked almost instantly, on the third day my face was a PLUM. I had dark purple-ish welts/bumps all over my cheeks. Later, my entire face was red, swollen, burning, itching for 2 WEEKS. Absolutely nothing worked to make the burning redness stop (benadryl, soothing creams, naturual remedies). I never in my life experienced anything this terrible. It's been a while but I feel like I still have an uneven complexion in comparison to before."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "Like many others on this board, I was prescribed mirvoso for moderate rosasea. I used it for maybe a week but it caused very severe rebound flushing (my face was all over magenta, even in areas where the drug was not used) so I discontinued use. Soon there after, I started developing almost cystic-acne like papule began to appear along my cheeks and forehead (where I had never gotten such acne before) and have persisted for the past 6 months. I have learned since that these withdrawl effects, while sometimes temporary, can last for as long as a year or more. In short, this drug greatly damaged my skin and so far I have not found any product or regime either prescription or OTC that can provide relief. Strongly do not recommend."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "Have tried about everything for rosecea. Metrogel mirvaso lasers chamomile and finally went to get a holistic spa treatment where I got facial. She said your rosecea is bad going to use mix of rose extract oil and Moroccan oil. My redness was gone the entire day. Bought these oils online and not greasy. Not only is my rosecea under control but I have a nice healthy glow and was actually carded. The girl said I look under 40 they card under 40. I am 50 years old. My skin looks and feels younger and is so hydrated."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "Like others, I used the product for a couple of days but stopped on day 3 after experiencing intense rebound symptoms. It seems to have burned my face. I don’t think they should be allowed to market this product to people with rosacea given that it makes the symptoms worse. Hopefully this redness/burning isn’t permanent."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "Wish I read the comments on here first. Worked wonderful for the first week, then slowly I had to use more and more to get the same effect. Eventually my face started breaking out in bad rashes and the rebound redness/heat was extreme. After I stopped using this gel (2-3 weeks) my face and eyes were still bright red and felt like they were on fire, also kept breaking out in bad dark red rashes. These nasty side effects lasted for roughly 1-1.5 months before disappearing completely. Strange how this medication worked so wonderfully for <7 days then caused so much distress. I would stay away from this gel!"

I specifically asked about side effects. DO NOT USE this product. Anyone that has a bright red tomato face after this product should be suing. How is this product on the market???"

Doctor prescribed it for my facial redness over my cheeks, but now ,2 weeks later, my cheeks, forehead and chin are all bright red, with small pus filled spots and feels like it's burning. I don't like going out as I'm embarrassed about how I look. "

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "The first time I was prescribed Mirvaso I was not made aware of the rebound redness as a side effect (holy moly). I found this medication works best mixed with moisturizer. I mix a half a pump with Prosacea moisturizer and it keeps the redness in check without completely bleaching all color from my face and causing rebound redness. I feel like I don’t need to do this on a daily basis either, every other day seems to prevent redness really well."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "It works great while it is applied, but I feel it is too powerful of a treatment option for this condition due to the withdrawal my face has had while coming off it. Also, my rosacea comes up in different areas of my face that I have never had redness in the past. Lastly, I sometimes get a very subtle rash on my forehead while using it. I spoke with my dermatologist and they suggested I stopped using it due to adverse reactions."

Mirvaso (brimonidine) "Omg...I was so excited after I tried this the first day! I had forgotten what I looked like without red cheeks. But then after the second day I had a few bumps on my cheeks and the redness did not disappear like it did the day before. Tried it again and now my cheeks are VERY red & hot. This must not work on fair skin. I'm disappointed in this product. I look worse now than I did before I tried it."
