"Midrin was the best migraine medication! As far as I know I cannot get it anywhere in the area that I live locally in Lake City Florida. I was reading this post to see if anyone had any ideas. I guess I will check on having it compounded at a pharmacy. I have tried Fioricet and fiorinal and they work but my doctor does not like to prescribe them because they have the potential for dependency. She has prescribed for me amerge, it is a triptan and it works but my insurance does not want to pay for it. I do have high blood pressure and sometimes it affects that. Sometimes I use toradol and that works, but it cannot be used regularly."

"Midrin is the only medication that I have had success with to combat a migraine. I could take it at the onset of a migraine to stop the pain dead in it's tracks. I'm currently taking Sumatriptan (generic Imitrex) which makes me sleepy enough to sleep through the pain but doesn't always elevate the pain. I've been researching Midrin today to learn whether or not it will ever be available again for migraines but I'm not having much luck. Posting here to see if anyone knows the status and to ask other what meds they used if Imitrex didn't work for them."

"This was the first medication I received for my migraines, and it worked for 90% of my migraines. However, the side effects left me dizzy, disoriented, drowsy, and just generally intoxicated and unable to perform normal work. I switched to Fioricet, and it's been a much better experience since."

"I have been taking Midrin for a week for chronic headaches. It does help enough to let me rest. The relief is somewhat short in duration but it is better than anything else I have taken. Considering I have had a chronic headaches for almost 6 weeks - this is progress."

"I take this for migraines. It is amazing, it usually stops my migraine within a half hour. I usually take 3 Midrin, Excedrin migraine, and 2 aspirin. I take it during aura, usually I have visual disturbances and numbness that travels around my body (along with some other weird crazy stuff). I've also tried Propranolol as a preventative but it causes chest pain and very slow heart rate, so I'm trying Topamax. I still get 3-5 migraines a month, hormone related. I have the Mirena IUD, I would get the Paraguard which has no hormones but I'm allergic to metal, go figure!"

"Midrin was the best thing ever for my migraines. They worked fast and very well. I don't know why they were discontinued. I've had migraines for 42 years and they were the only one that worked perfectly."

"Five doses at best only eased migraine slightly - and at the cost of increased nausea and increased duration of migraine. Then there's the rebound headaches that last for days. Not worth it for me. Glad it works for others, though. Maxalt works but is terribly expensive and very limited, which means it cannot be used as often as indicated."

"Been taking Midrin for 6 years, migraines are getting worse with age. Auras, numbness in arms, cluster headaches. Can't take Motrin anymore, doctor says I've taken too much. Midrin makes me feel like I've taken a muscle relaxer after I wake up the next day. So, the day after I take this I feel like a zombie. Still looking for something better!"

"Midrin is lovely for my migraines- I was taking 800 mg of ibuprofen a day for them, and now I only have to take one Midrin for a headache to completely go away. There was slight nausea and change of appetite, but that's to be expected."

"This medicine is really good, though sometimes I need to take up to 5 of them for really persistent migraines. It is very affordable but sometimes I feel I need something other than the Elavil to really help."

"Miss Midrin, was the only thing that helped my migraines/headaches. I've held on to a few since may 2018, but I haven't found anything equal to it"

"The manufacturers aren't making enough money on the OLD migraine meds (which MIDRIN is the only one that ever helped me) so they want to FORCE everyone to pay for the newer ones."
