Will Pravachol help guard against mini strokes as well as Coumadin, does itneed weekly blood tests?

... blood tests like coumadin, my mom is 88 yrs old and she has trouble with the weekly blood tests and she cannot take pradaxa due to a chronic wound.

Is there any cholesterol lowering medicine that does not cause muscle pain?

I have been on various cholesterolmeds and they are fine for about three months and then the horrible muscle pain in my legs start. This really affects my sleep and ability to exercise.

Isn't there another med I can take other than the ones that cause?

muscle pain that would work for me? I already have a hard time getting to sleep and the side effects of the statins are just too much. :(
