Was on 150 mg of zoloft and it did not work... doctor did a direct switch and and started me on 40 mg of prozac starting today... So my question is... will i get quicker results from prozac being its in the same class as zoloft or will have to start the same old process of waiting 4-6 weeks all over again?
Thanks
Will prozac work faster since I direct switched from zoloft?

Hi, clipper!
Unfortunately, although both medications are in the same drug class (SSRI) they are different drugs and work differently in your metabolism.
It'll be easier because you'll know what to expect, but remember that just because you had a problem with one it doesn't necessarily mean you'll have one with the Prozac. You may be one of the many users who have no or only minimal side effects.
You may see improvement as early as the first week or two but it will still take 4-8 weeks for the drug to become fully effective.
Best regards and I hope the Prozac works well for you.
