Just a little advice from someone who has been where you are. I would not start suboxone if you are down to 2 lortabs a day. Trust me! It is not pleasant to come off either medication, but withdrawals from 2 lortab a day will be far less than the suboxone. This is because subs stay in your system so much longer. Yes, the Dr. can wean you down from Subs and you wont be on them forever, but even as you lower your dosage, you will have withdrawals. I promise. If you have started subs, the klonopin is ok to take, but take as directed. It is also great to have during withdrawals, so when you decide to quit, make sure you have plenty. You will need them. Also, if you have started subs, you should not be taking any lortabs at all, because it is a blocker, therefore it is a waste of time. You will be taking lortabs for nothing. It will not even help with pain. I am unsure if you are on both or just thinking about subs. But like I said, I would not go on subs if I were down to 2 lortabs a day. I would go to 1 1/2 a day, then 1 a day, then half a day, then stop. You will have some withdrawals, but at that dose it will not last long. I know it is scary. I went thru horrible withdrawals coming off subs for 3 weeks. Where if I would have lowered my lortabs, then quit, I could have only delt with it for 5 days or so. There is a recipe on this site, called the Thomas recipe. I used it, and it does help alot. Robert 325 has all the information and a site to go to that tells you exactly what to do. He also is an expert at helping people lower their dosage of subs, if you are already on them, so you will not suffer the withdrawals as long or as bad. He tells you exactly how to taper off. If you think you will increase your lortabs without subs, then try them and taper off slow, but dont take the two together, because like I said, it the lortabs will be blocked and do you no good, plus it can cause you to have withdrawal symptoms when taken together. You have to have your liver, and only you know if youre ready to drop the 2 lortabs, use the Thomas recipe, and go thru a short period of withdrawals, or if you cant, then go off lortabs and try subs, but use the taper method that Robert 325 has on the site to wean off. He has helped thousands. If it were me, since Ive been thru both, there is no question, I would drop the lortabs, and not take subs, but as I said, only you know what you can handle or what you are ready to do. You have to be serious about quitting. You can do it. I promise. If you study up on Subs, you will see it is for people who cannot come off pills or heroin and use large amounts daily. I think to swap 2 lortab a day for subs would be a mistake as long as you are ready to quit. It will be much easier. If you give me more history, I can help you more. God Bless and good luck.
