Can I break my 5mg abilify pill in half or is it time released?

Abilify is not time released and is ok to split in half if doctor prescribed.
If your doctor has recommended that you should break your pill in half, then it should be appropriate.
However, you should consult your doctor prior to breaking your pills in half and taking only 1/2 of the recommended dosage.
You are correct if it is XR or sustained release then breaking it in half would not guarantee that you are receiving 1/2 of the dosage.

Thank you! Yes my doctor recommended to break in half and try a half dose. The full dosage was causing some agitation.
