This is a dirty drug. I am very depressed. I am mean, emotional, tired angry, I forget things easily. I am losing everyone important in my life. My headaches are gone. But I think this is worse. What do I do? Should I just stop taking topamax? Help!

NO! Tell your Dr what you have told us here, let the Doc make the decision. Never just stop, you will regret it. Your Dr can help you stop in a way that will not cause you misery. Hope this helps.
I am in total agreement with kaismama and maso. This is a nasty drug. My son took it for the same problem. He had all the same side effects as you mentioned. Let your doctor know immediately.
Best to you ... pamee
I stopped a drug that affected my mood, Zonisamide. I was taking 200 mg, dropped to 100 mg for 4 days and I was off. I felt remarkably better in just over a week. I'll never go back on an anti sezure drug again. I took Topamax, also known as 'Dopamax', then Lomotrogine and lastly, Zonisamide. It is the only one that affected my mood, made me feel very unmotivated, 'sad', I was irritable and sensitive where I'd want to cry for no reason. Crazy!!! I had cognitive problems with the other two, I hate these drugs. I took my last "Z" pill July 18 and on July 19th I started 5 mg of Flexeril every night, I've had six migraines this past month, that is great!! I had 13 in June and 12 in May. The drug initially helped me, I started it on Jan 3, but after just a few months I was back up to having too many. Good luck!!
Strat, what about you, have you found a medicine that works for migrains?
Best to you.

Flexeril, 5 mg is what I have been taking for the past month. So far it's working good. Six migraines in one month for me... is low. No side effects, so I love it. I take it at night because it is known to make you sleepy. When I do have a headache, I take generic Imitrex or Maxalt, both work really well... Imitrex is less expensive. What do you take or what have you tried?
Strat, I do not have the migrains. It is my son that suffers from them. I will pass on the information Thank you! I am hoping my son will talk to his Dr. about it. He is against all pills, but I will give it a shot. Thanks again.. may you have a good day!

Flexeril is a muscle relaxer.
I took it too for my migraines , and you said it pal it is a "dirty drug", get off it asap ( you will only end up more depressed , trust me), you must stop gradually under medical supervision.
All the best,
maso.-
Hello maso, have you found a medicine to control your migrains?
pamee
Hello pamee, actually I have not, thank you for your concern, I truly value it!
Good evening my friend,
maso.-
Thank you! Enjoy your evening my friend!
peace and joy to you,
pamee
Go to your local piercing salon and get your daith pierced. I finally got it done and it has made a WORLD of difference! Now I'm going to wean myself off of this medication.
(In the month and a half that ive had the one side pierced I've had only 1 migraine as opposed to at least 2 a week. Going in soon to get my other side done.) And best of all, no side effects
--- This piercing severes a nerve, the same one they use in acupuncture to treat migraines
Tell your doctor you want off of it. You need to be weaned off of it, as there is a chance of seizures if you just stop it.
