Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Cymbalta was a miracle for me. I was paralyzed by anxiety and couldn't function in daily life, and it made me feel better than I've ever felt in my life. I've tried tons of anxiety/depression meds - Xanax, Klonopin, Buspar, Ativan, Zoloft, Celexa, etc. - and they all barely worked, just made me catatonic, or had really serious side effects (listlessness, decreased libido, etc.). Cymbalta made me feel like my true self minus anxiety, rather than a dulled version of myself. It actually increased my libido because I wasn't too depressed to have sex for the first time. I also lost weight while taking it, which wasn't desirable for me, but I know it is for some people. The only negatives I experienced were nausea and decreased appetite at first."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have been on Cymbalta for 7 months, and it has changed my life. I have OCD, GAD, and severe anxiety over health. I haven't felt like myself in 4 years until Cymbalta. I do get night sweats BADDDDD, but it's something I have gotten used to. I take 60mg a day, and I never want to get off it. I am a 26-year-old healthy mom, and anxiety now doesn't rule my life... I do! :-)"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I started this medication after I basically had a nervous breakdown in June 2013. I couldn't function as a mother. I felt scared & nervous all the time. Lights were too bright. Sounds were too loud. I couldn't deal with all of the things that needed to be done around the house. Started out at 30mg for 2 weeks then went up to 60mg. Made me super tired in the afternoons at first (take around 7am). Cymbalta slowly brought me out of the 'fog' I was in. It took about 6-8 weeks before I could say I felt 'normal' again; whatever that is, right?"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "After reading about others' experiences with Cymbalta, I was very hesitant to try it. However, I got to a point where I was willing to do anything to feel 'normal' again. I started Cymbalta (30mg) about 3 months ago and I am SO glad I did. The first week was unpleasant — I was close to stopping it, but my family encouraged me to give it a fair shot. By the second week things were better. Now (still on 30mg) the only side effects that remain are loss of appetite (causing weight loss), occasional vivid dreams, and some difficulty with orgasm. For me the benefits have been huge — I am able to focus, more energy, no more racing thoughts, no more crying spells, and no more anxiety/panic. Everyone is different, but for me this has worked great!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Chronic Pain "I was started on Cymbalta for pain at 30 mg per day the first month. I experienced mild disruption of sleep for a few nights, but no other side effects. My pain was initially reduced by 70% but began to wear off by evening. Second month my dose was upped to 60 mg per day, which I take at lunch time. My neck pain and neuropathy in hands and feet have been reduced by 90%, which is like a miracle to me. I have been able to resume yoga and biking. Life is very good now. I was switched to generic Duloxetine with no loss of benefit and no more side effects. I'm one of the lucky ones who does not suffer many side effects from medications. My sister cannot use this one at all."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Chronic Pain "One of the worst medications ever. 1st 5 days, had no desire to do anything. Complete apathy about everything. Also had terrible nausea for 5 days. That finally went away. Then it started feeling like something was literally tapping on my brain. It did nothing for the chronic pain I had. I don't know how anyone can take this medicine. Stopped taking it. Had a headache for a few days, that was it."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "I have been on almost every anti-depression medication there is and Cymbalta has been the absolute best in not only helping my depression but my nerve pain. I’ve had zero side effects with this medication. That has never happened especially as a female. If you’ve tried everything and nothing has helped. I highly recommend this medication. With therapy and medication it has really helped a lot."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I nearly died taking this drug I took one 30mg tablet and felt like someone had hit me in the back of the head after that I started getting brain zaps apparently that’s what they’re called by the Doctors in ICU It made me feel very sick and unwell but I thought it would wear off by 6 o’clock in the morning the next day I called an ambulance I was vomiting, shocking, cramping even though I hadn’t eaten or drunk anything except for water they took me straight into intensive care my sodium levels had plummeted and they put me straight in for a brain scan I was four days in intensive care. They said another half an hour and I would’ve had a massive stroke I was 49 at the time, The doctor said it had damaged my brain and they don’t know how long it will take to come good if ever I felt alright after about a week never take this drug you can die from it"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Chronic Pain "Cymbalta has been the worst drug I've ever been on and was irresponsibly prescribed by my dr for chronic pain. I was on it for 4 months and it didn't work at all. To make it worse I almost died from withdrawal because my dr took off for 3 months and left no one in his place to write my prescription. Therefore I went into withdrawal, which he never warned me about. This drug is worse than any opiate. If you take your medication responsibly you shouldn't be denied other more helpful medication."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "Amazing! Best depression & anxiety medication I have been on & I have tried many. Horrible initial side effects but after 2 weeks subsided. Without a doubt completely worth it. Anxiety & depression dramatically diminished, libido back with a vengeance :) HIGHLY recommended from a person with a long history of acute anxiety & depression which was made worse by not being able to find a suitable medication until now. Best 6 months ever."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have only been on this medication for a week but I already notice a huge difference. I suffer from depression and anxiety as well as panic attacks. I noticed a difference the 3rd day. My mind isn’t racing 100 mph and I can concentrate. Anxiety is still there a little bit, but no panic attacks. I had some nausea and diarrhea but I’m not sure if that was from Cymbalta as a bug was going around. First few nights I had sleep issues, but those have passed. No sexual side effects thus far. I was on lexipro before and I hated it. Get like a zombie. This is altogether different. I know each drug is different for everyone, but so far cymbalta has done wonders for me"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I have never in my life functioned properly until Cymbalta. I have gone from panic attacks to public speaking with no hesitation. I finally have a real life. I don't overstress. I no longer ruminate. No shakings, no lasting side effects. A bit hyper and loss of libido but sorted out in a few months. I never want to come off it. Changed my life totally. Been on 60 mg for 20 months."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "Have been on Cymbalta for a week now for depression and chronic pain. Feel like an absolute zombie, have struggled to get my daily things done and have otherwise stared at the TV all weekend. Scared to stop because of all the horrid reviews but want to continue for the promising reviews. Why does treating depression have to be so hard? I feel worse than I did last week. Numb to the world. No motivation or desire to participate in life. I will persevere for another week and reassess. I am taking It in the morning, perhaps I need to take it at night??? I think I will do that this week. No change to my pains."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Fibromyalgia "I was prescribed Cymbalta 30 mg for Fibro & nerve pain. I took one pill. I had never had a panic attack in my life until taking this medicine. I took the pill at 10:30am. At 12:30 I couldn’t catch my breath. My heart started pounding. My vision became a tunnel and I felt like I was about to pass out. The only thing I could do was lay down and breathe deeply. Things calmed down, I get up from the bed and wham! It hit me again. This time however my skin started burning. My chest and arms felt like they were on fire. I couldn’t breathe again, my vision went tunnel like again. Ringing ears, pounding heart. Even my feet started itching really bad. The panic attacks were severe. The ER told me I had to let the medicine run its course and they gave me a xanax to help calm the panic attacks. It took 18 hours. The xanax helped. It was the Worst day and night of my life! The doctor said my reaction was not a normal reaction. I couldn’t believe one single pill did this to me."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "I started taking Cymbalta about one month ago. Initially, the dose was 30mg for 2 weeks and 60mg following. I cannot believe how well this has helped me. I suffered with depression and severe anxiety. I will continue this medication as I understand full benefit may not be reached for several months. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Cymbalta. My only side effects are constipation and decreased appetite, which I have resolved with Miralax and eating small meals more often. I also realized the increased taste of salt during my meals, which has seemed to decrease more each day."

It takes away some of the chronic pain in my hands and I can get a full night sleep. Give it time to work if you're using it for chronic pain don't quit after one month because it takes a good 6 to 7 weeks to really enjoy the benefits of cymbalta"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I am a RN who suffers from severe social anxiety and moderate depression. Symptoms associated with SAD have included inability to write in front of others, eat in public, public speaking. Even drinking in front of others was difficult for me. I hated the shaking, heart racing/pounding, and everything else that went along with this horrible affliction! I remember it all starting around 15 years old but never could understand why. I'm 41 yrs old today and my anxieties have affected my life negatively and held me back in so many ways. I never felt normal. Many years and meds later, I came to believe my life would never change. That I would never feel 'normal' around people. Then I found Cymbalta..changed my life!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Chronic Pain "I suffer from chronic pain, depression, and anxiety for the past 10 years and I'm 30. Football ruined my life, but Cymbalta has made it worse. Not only did I NOT receive any benefit from Cymbalta, but I gave it a serious 2-month try and I'm now spending 90% of my time withdrawing from it. I cannot imagine if I was on this a year, let alone ten. If this medicine helps you, I would weigh the benefits seriously because either you're going to the grave with this medicine or you're going to have to feel the 'benefits' of coming off of this poison. Beware because no doctor will tell you these things. Worse than 2 years of clonazepam, alcohol, or opiates, no joke. Hope this helps someone!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Fibromyalgia "I took Cymbalta for 6 years after my house burned down, my husband was diagnosed with cancer, he lived 8 months. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and severe depression. It worked with minimal side effects. I felt like myself 3 days after starting it. I was in a good place 8 yrs. I weaned off and stopped taking it. 3 years later I had a massive stroke and slowly began to feel more and more depressed. I was suicidal in Jan. 2016. I asked a new Dr. to put me back on it. I felt better in only 36 hours. It was amazing how it changed my thinking. My back pain, suicidal thoughts, and anxiety had all but disappeared. I would recommend Cymbalta to anyone with any of these symptoms. Everyone is different and it may not work for you. I'm still taking it."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I am taking Cymbalta 30 mg for a week, now. My primary care physician gave it to me for bilateral hip pain when I sleep. It has been helping. More so, however, it has decreased my anxiety. Amazingly so! I feel calmer and I haven’t been grinding my teeth, which I do all the time from anxiety. It’s working for me. I think the 30 mg dose is plenty."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Chronic Pain "After suffering in a very serious way from chronic neck and back pain for about 5 years, I was giving up. I had no major injury, but small 'normal range' disc ruptures protruding in my C5 and C7 with other old back injuries. Fibromyalgia/Neuralgia. I've gone through multiple specialists, MRIs, physical therapists, chiropractors, and acupuncturists. Some relief here and there, mostly with acupuncture and specific stretching. Pain was horrible. Finally after persistent research, I found what truly works for me: Cymbalta (normal dose) with daily SAM-E and Malic Acid supplements. It took about 2 months to fully work, but now I'm virtually PAIN FREE. Cannot thank God enough for this."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I have been on several medications (citalopram) & after 6 years it simply stopped helping my anxiety. It made me tired, foggy & spacey anyways. I had a hard time being sharp at my corporate job. I then got off of anything and was just ok for 7 months. Then my spouse almost died and it sent me reeling into depression & severe anxiety. I was paralyzed with fear. I couldn't get my work done, cried all the time, had major anxiety. I was afraid to try anything due to the fear of being tired, foggy or dull. Started 30mg Cymbalta. It helped me within 3 days. First 3 days was nauseous. After 2 weeks I was no longer depressed, no catastrophic thinking or panic attacks. Wish I had tried 10-20 years ago! It has turned me around. Not foggy or tired!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I began taking Cymbalta six weeks ago for generalized anxiety disorder. Although the initial side effects of disrupted sleep were difficult, it disappeared after about three weeks. I started on 30 mg and increased to 60 mg after one week. The results have been incredible. For the first time ever, I can sit quietly without a million thoughts running through my head. I no longer feel 'stuck' on certain thoughts. I feel calmer, more relaxed, and happier. I also find that my thinking is very clear. Overall, feeling very, very good. Highly recommend Cymbalta."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I had a large but benign brain tumor removed a year and a half ago. After my recovery, I had depression and anxiety which I had never really had before. After dealing with it over a year, I started generic Cymbalta 3 months ago. First 2 months 30 mg a day. Some initial insomnia, 1 day of upset stomach, loss of appetite (lost 8 lbs) for about 3 weeks. Helped immediately with depression, anxiety issues took about 5 weeks. After 2 months, Dr put me on 60 mg a day which I've taken for 4 weeks now. Anxiety is so much better, feel it coming on now and then but it doesn't last. I've put the weight back on but nothing extra. Sleeping 6-7 hours a night, about average for me. This drug overall has really helped me, I take nothing else with it. I'm sorry to hear it effects some people so negatively, but please try to stay on this until your body can get used to the side effects. This drug has greatly improved my life."
