Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Wow. Cymbalta changed my LIFE! Prozac made me a zombie, as did Paxil, Xanax, & Klonopin. I have depression & anxiety. Prozac seemed to have made my depression worse! But then...Cymbalta saved me. I'm so happy to be able to actually GET OUT of bed, not yell at the kids, etc. I experienced a mild euphoria at first, now, (it's been a week) I just feel happy and energetic! I really hope it keeps working!!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Fibromyalgia "I don't usually comment on things like this but I felt I needed to. I've been suffering from pain for as long as I can remember, along with chronic fatigue, stiffness, depression, and a general loss of zest for life. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia a few months ago and started this medication (30mg for a month then upped to 60mg). I have to say it's been a miracle! I knew I was in pain, but I didn't realize how much of me was in constant pain until it was taken away. My fatigue levels have improved drastically - I still need to nap in the day, but it's not the crippling fatigue I suffered with before. I'm happy, mobile, pain-free, and full of energy thanks to this medication. I have also lost weight, which is a great side effect!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "Cymbalta has radically changed my life. Prior to taking this medication, I wanted to end my life due to severe depression and anxiety. After a couple of weeks on this drug, my mind began to shift. I am now calmer, more balanced, and happier than I'd been in years. I feel so much more level-headed. It allows me to associate more meaning with people, things, and activities in life. My relationships with coworkers, customers, and people around me have been strengthened. I used to never talk to or invest my time in other people around me and now I actually enjoy socializing. It even helps me in other strange ways like making me more organized, keeping my apartment clean, getting rid of junk I don't need or use, etc. I thank the universe for leading me to this drug."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "Changed my life. I had been experiencing slight bouts of anxiety starting at around age 19. Hitting me hard, randomly of course, only a few times a year. Then when I was 24, something changed with my anxiety and I became completely crippled by it. I was being consumed by constant anxiety, worry, fear, etc. every single minute of every day, including when I slept. I was out of control emotionally and mentally. I had to take a box of tissues with me everywhere because the anxiety was so severe I would burst out into tears even during the 'happiest' of times. Finally, after suffering for months, I decided to give Cymbalta a try, reluctantly though. After a week of relatively mild side effects, it had changed my life and saved my life."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "I have been on 60mg Duloxetine daily for 1 month, 30mg daily before that to wean off Effexor. The Duloxetine was so ineffective & the withdrawal from the Effexor was so bad that I had to take both for about 6 weeks. Now with no Effexor I am back to feeling no effects from Duloxetine. I'm painfully depressed and have sudden bouts of extreme anger & irritability. I cry all the time, have no appetite, and hate going out in public. I've been on every antidepressant on the market. With Duloxetine, I might as well be eating Tic Tacs."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Back Pain "I woke up bent over with lower back pain every morning, which led to sciatica pain for 2 years. Turning over in bed feeling like a 50-lb weight was attached to my lower back started around 3:00 am and felt like a tight ball every morning that needed some air released. After trying 3 different medications, I started Cymbalta. Within two days I was pain-free in the morning and my sciatica pain eventually disappeared as well. At one point, I couldn't sit or stand for more than 15-30 minutes without getting up hunched or feeling like my back was giving out. My quality of life had been taken over by what was becoming a 24/7 literal pain in my back. For me, as time went on, it not only left me pain-free in the morning, it also removed the nerve pain in my left sciatica. It was/is a Godsend."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I had insomnia badly for the first couple of days, but taking it in the morning helped. I also experienced lack of appetite for the first couple of weeks and felt very energized. It faded, but same things when the dose was increased to 60mg. It was great for anxiety, even helped with things that I didn't know were from anxiety; however, I had no relief of back pain unfortunately. I currently have no side effects after 2 months."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "Wonderful medication. If your ready to get off then tapper slowly and then get off medication. After I got off I smoked medical marijuana and it helped with the zaps and feeling sick - the withdrawals only last a bit. Hang in there."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "The depression & anxiety was unbelievable before I took meds. The doc put me on the lowest dose of Prozac which did not work and actually made it worse. So then I was put on Cymbalta, here it is less than two weeks and I can feel little by little every day my symptoms lessen. Now my depression & anxiety hasn’t disappeared so to speak but it’s easier to cope and maintain. I've had zero luck with SSRIs in the past, my body adjusts better with SNRIs... there is a blood test you can request to see what works well with your chemistry so they don’t use you as a test puppet... Cymbalta is amazing and I would definitely recommend it!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "NOTHING matters about this drug except the fact that withdrawal is horrific if you ever need to come off it. Don’t start! I am now in my 13th month coming off this drug. It has been the worst thing ever. I am now counting beads in capsules and reducing slowly; am down to 10 mg. Five more months and I hope to get my life back. This drug should be used only as a last resort when all else has failed. Would give it a zero if I could."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "I'm suffering from Depression, Borderline Personality Disorder, OCD, and PTSD. With the exception of feeling a little sick after taking it, Cymbalta has helped me after only a few days. I've tried Effexor, Zoloft, Paxil, Pristiq, Prozac, Celexa, Seroquel, Trazodone, Amitriptyline, and a few more I can't remember the names of. I think everyone responds differently to medications, and all you can do is keep trying and not give up. My mental illness has had a negative impact on my life and ruined many personal relationships too. I have never had any medication work this fast or so well before."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "My depression/anxiety the past several months has been disabling. Mornings were filled with crippling anxiety/depression and I'd stay in bed to escape being with the emotional pain. I felt overwhelmed all the time and just couldn't get motivated to do anything. Since Cymbalta, I have pep in my step! I have tons of motivation to spend HOURS cleaning a house with years of accumulated hoarding, and to clean my apartment which I couldn't touch in 6 months. I can get things done without the overwhelmed feeling—bills, job, etc. I'm no longer deeply blue and crying. This is an answer to my prayers! My psych said that my desire to get better, counseling, and making changes is what is needed as part of treatment to succeed. Praise God!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "I have been taking Cymbalta for 3 months now to combat depression and anxiety. I am taking 30mg per day. When I first started taking it, I was very sleepy. I had to take naps during the day, which wasn't too good. I finally had a breakthrough with it and now no longer need the naps. I had good side effects for a few weeks like no hunger pangs. Those went away. I haven't gained any weight either like I did on Zoloft and Serazone. I feel great and during my PMS now, it is so nice to actually be nice to others again. It is a wonderful medicine. Keep taking it and you will feel better. The sleepiness will go away, and the sun will start shining again. I laugh again like I used to, and I have NO SEXUAL SIDE EFFECTS yeah."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "Cymbalta was really hard to take at first. I felt very out of it the first day. The second and third days, the nausea was unbearable. I had terrible stomach cramps, but the worst was the insomnia (but I had that before I started taking Cymbalta). I was advised to try to stick to it and not give up because the benefits were coming. After 6 days, I was so happy that all the side effects disappeared. I'm sleeping on my own without insomnia meds. I feel like myself again, and the terrible panic and depersonalization I was having are gone. I know I still have some time to go until it's in full effect. I'm only in my second week, but I'm excited to know that it's going to be even better. Yes! Side effects suck, and you feel you can't take it! BUT I think about the quality of life I was having without it, and I'm grateful because it was so bad I was thinking of doing 'anything' to stop it. Cymbalta is giving me the opportunity to enjoy life again. If you are struggling with side effects, just hang in there. It will get better."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Depression "I want to warn you about watching what you drink and other medicines you take. It turns out that even a little alcohol (3 drinks a month) and Motrin (6 pills taken over one week) will hurt your liver while on Cymbalta. I found this out through a routine blood test."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Generalized Anxiety Disorder "I have struggled for years with pain from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. I could not have normal relationships with family or friends and became a recluse. The constant pain caused me to be deeply depressed, and I often planned my suicide. I wrote a will because I knew I could not live this life anymore. I tried many antidepressants and took Dilaudid by the handfuls. I started taking Cymbalta 13 days ago. I no longer take Dilaudid. I am planning on giving up gabapentin. My mood has gone a complete turnaround. I am able to function. I am walking again, swimming. I am laughing, and for the first time in 15 years, I feel hope!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Generalized Anxiety Disorder "Was hesitant to start the drug with all the horror stories, but I guess that's with any drug that's not right for that individual. I had a horrible experience with Prozac. I suffer from GAD, fatigue, and was dealing with back and neck pain. The drug started to work pretty quickly. My doc switched me from Zoloft to Cymbalta when Zoloft stopped working after a year. I had some dizziness and felt off for a couple of weeks, but nothing like Prozac. I started out at 30mg during the transition but jumped up to 60mg after 2 weeks when I stopped Zoloft. The drug has worked well so far. I can see a significant reduction in anxiety, which has given me the energy to start exercising again. It's also put me in a good mood and reduced pain by 80%. I'm on week 2 of 60mg so I hope it continues to improve."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "This medication was a lifesaver for me as it helped me to overcome anxiety at work and allowed me to regain my focus. This also helped a lot with my irritable bowel syndrome issues! Only downfall was the first few weeks where I lost a lot of weight due to having no desire to eat, and I had to switch to taking it at night because when I took it in the morning, it made me dizzy and tired all day. I am taking 30mg once a day and have been on this for about 8 months. Hang in there if you just started the medication because it takes about a month to really kick in."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I was experiencing awful panic attacks and anxiety that wouldn't let up. I tried so many medications, but Cymbalta was the one that worked best for me. Started at 30 mg for a week, then went up to 60, and now up to 90 mg where I'm at now. The only downside was it seemed like it took a long time to get back to normal after almost 2 months, but I'm glad I'm here. I have not had a panic attack in weeks, anxiety is down, and I'm off all benzos. Stick with this medication, it did wonders for me, and I'm very sensitive to medications."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Chronic Pain "Cymbalta has helped me so much for chronic pain. Initially, I felt dizzy and weird for about a month on 30mg a day. And, I didn't think it helped my pain. My doctor increased the dose to 60mg a day and said that is the standard dose for fibromyalgia. Since the dosage increased, my pain has been helped 70 to 80%. I am glad I stuck with it. I haven't gained weight, and my appetite has decreased a little, which is good."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Chronic Pain "I have RSD = Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, which is a nerve problem caused by damaged nerves. Mine is in my right foot, in my toes. This pain is so bad, it makes you cry; it is that painful. I have had this for 15 years, and I will always have been told there is no cure for this disease. My doctor put me on Cymbalta. Keep in mind I also have a pain pump implanted in me to help with the pain, which it does help, but there are times I need to take the edge off. So, he put me on Cymbalta. I've been taking it now for a few weeks, and I have noticed a huge difference in the pain being much less. It is doing the job it was given to me to do and is working well. Nothing is worse than being in pain and not being able to live life; it's miserable. But now, things have gotten better. I'm not in that miserable state where it ruins your life. Life is so much better!"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Fibromyalgia "Look up Cymbalta Syndrome. If prescribed, before you take it- research it- have your dr research it. It will help for 2-3 yrs MAX. Getting off of it is a whole other story- the manufactures KNEW this- and pushed it anyway. They could fix this issue but choose not to. This drug needs to be removed from the market! You don’t know long term pain and crippling sickness until you try to get off this med. The manufacturer gave us no easy way to taper, no painless way to wean off. I am on my 2nd YEAR of weaning and I will be honest- withdrawals can last months to YEARS. I have 30 mg still to go till I am Cymbalta free... and tons of horrific side effects to still face. Do your research- don’t take this pill, it is beyond hell. And big pharma knew it.... yet sell it anyway as well as pay drs to prescribe it and down play the true horrors of it"

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Chronic Pain "I feel the need to write this review as I read so many negative reviews online of Cymbalta before I started taking it, and they really freaked me out. However, while I cannot negate what others have said as I know this type of medication varies for almost everyone, Cymbalta has been really great for me! I have mysterious chronic pain for over two years now, and after trying so many different things to lessen it (other medications, chiropractic, PT, supplements, acupuncture, stretching, icing... the list goes on), this has been the only thing that has really helped me. My pain hasn't gone away fully, but Cymbalta has made my life a lot easier. I have experienced no side effects so far."

Cymbalta (duloxetine) for Anxiety "I read reviews for years and was always too afraid to try an SSRI or SNRI. I tried several SSRIs that only increased my anxiety. I got the courage to try Cymbalta after talking to dozens of people and reading the reviews on this site. The reviews often said that they wanted to give others hope since it worked for them. When something works for you, it is literally the difference between life and darkness. Please don't be afraid to try. I am grateful to all the people who developed these medications and for everyone who helps others with anxiety."

For Anxiety "After reading some of the duloxetine reviews on this website, I was terrified to begin taking it. I decided to take the bull by the horns and started it and let me tell you - it was no where as bad as some of these reviews stated. I had mild nausea and was a bit sleepy for the first few days but nothing that I couldn't handle. Those side effects have already started wearing off and I can already feel a difference. If you are debating whether or not to take it- I would say do it. The horror stories on here are not true to my experience."
