Side Effects of DexAlone - for the Consumer

DexAlone

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using DexAlone:

Dizziness; drowsiness; stomach upset.

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue).

Side Effects by Body System

Nervous system

Nervous system side effects have included drowsiness and dizziness. Other side effects such as excitation, mental confusion, and opiate-like respiratory depression have been rare and occurred at higher dosages. In some cases of abuse, patients experienced euphoria, hyperactivity, mania, and auditory and visual hallucinations.

Gastrointestinal

Gastrointestinal side effects have included stomach upset.

Hypersensitivity

Hypersensitivity side effects have included rare reports of fixed-drug eruptions.
