If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Selenium Foam while you are pregnant. It is not known if Selenium Foam is found in breast milk after topical use. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Selenium Foam, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.
Selenium sulfide topical Pregnancy Warnings
Selenium sulfide topical has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal reproductive studies have not been conducted. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. The manufacturer of Selseb shampoo has stated that their product should not be used by pregnant women.
Selenium sulfide topical Lactation Warnings
There are no data on the excretion of selenium sulfide topical into human milk. Because many drugs are secreted in human milk, caution is recommended if selenium sulfide topical is to be used by a nursing woman.
