Drug Interaction Report
3 potential interactions and/or warnings found for the following 2 drugs:
- infigratinib
- Nephro Calci (calcium carbonate)
Interactions between your drugs
calcium carbonate infigratinib
Applies to: Nephro Calci (calcium carbonate), infigratinib
By reducing the acidity level in the stomach, calcium carbonate may interfere with the absorption of infigratinib and reduce its effectiveness. You should generally take infigratinib at least 2 hours before or 2 hours after calcium carbonate. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have questions on how to take these or other medications you are prescribed. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medication you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Drug and food interactions
infigratinib food
Applies to: infigratinib
Infigratinib should be taken on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after food. Do not consume grapefruit, grapefruit juice, or any supplements that contain grapefruit extract during treatment with infigratinib unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Grapefruit juice can increase the blood levels of infigratinib. This may increase the frequency and severity of serious side effects such as infections; decreased red blood cell, white blood cell, and platelet counts; fever; abdominal pain; increased blood calcium and phosphate levels above normal; eye and vision problems; mouth sores and inflammation; diarrhea; redness, swelling, peeling or tenderness, mainly on the hands and feet ('hand-foot syndrome'); nails separating from the bed or poor formation of the nail; and changes in kidney function blood tests. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
calcium carbonate food
Applies to: Nephro Calci (calcium carbonate)
Calcium absorption may be increased by taking it with food. However, foods high in oxalic acid (spinach or rhubarb), or phytic acid (bran and whole grains) may decrease calcium absorption. Calcium may be taken with food to increase absorption. Consider spacing calcium administration for at least 2 hours before or after consuming foods high in oxalic acid or phytic acid. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
Therapeutic duplication warnings
