Fenofibrate is used in the treatment of hypertriglyceridemia; hyperlipoproteinemia; hyperlipoproteinemia type v, elevated chylomicrons vldl; hyperlipoproteinemia type iib, elevated ldl vldl; hyperlipoproteinemia type iv, elevated vldl (and more), and belongs to the drug class fibric acid derivatives. Risk cannot be ruled out during pregnancy. Fenofibrate 48 mg is not subject to the Controlled Substances Act.
