Interactions between your drugs

Major

BCG omadacycline

Applies to: TheraCys (bcg) and omadacycline

If you are currently being treated with omadacycline, you should talk to your doctor before receiving BCG. Antibiotics like omadacycline may reduce the anti-tumor activity of BCG in the bladder. To ensure adequate response to your cancer treatment, you should not receive BCG until after you complete your antibiotic therapy. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Drug and food interactions

Moderate

omadacycline food

Applies to: omadacycline

Do not take iron supplements, multivitamins, calcium supplements, or antacids within 4 hours before or after taking omadacycline. These products can make omadacycline less effective in treating your infection. Omadacycline should be taken at least 2 hours before (4 hours for dairy products) or 4 hours after meals. Dairy products can make it harder for your body to absorb the medication.
