Blood levels and effects of oral contraceptives may be reduced if severe diarrhea occurs during treatment with prucalopride. This may increase the risk of breakthrough bleeding and unintended pregnancy. You should use an additional method of birth control if you experience severe diarrhea while taking prucalopride.
