The following interaction applies only if you are receiving vancomycin orally:

colestipol may interfere with the absorption of vancomycin when these medications are taken at the same time. This may reduce the blood levels and effects of vancomycin. To prevent or minimize the interaction, vancomycin should be taken at least 1 hour before or 4 to 6 hours after the colestipol dose. Contact your doctor if your symptoms worsen or your condition changes during treatment with these medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.

Using colestipol together with multivitamin with minerals may decrease the effects of multivitamin with minerals. Multivitamin with minerals should be administered at least 4 hours before colestipol.
