Zilretta (triamcinolone) for Osteoarthritis "I had high hopes for this injection after failed cortisone, and other injections. I iced my knee several times a day. I have a bit of relief in my knee but by the end of the day I'm "toast". It has been one week since my injection. I'm glad others had success, however, it is not working for me."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have suffered excrutiating back, hip and knee pain for 15 years. I had my first injection and felt thirty years old again. I was able to walk normally and without pain. The second shot had no noticeable effect and the euphoria from the first faded away. The first was given very close to the spinal nerve involved. The second one not so close and today's shot was very close to the nerve. I would recommend this if medically cleared by all your specialists. It will change your life, at least for a while."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Allergic Reactions "Worst drug EVER! I got the shot yesterday to help with a severe sinus infection I fought for 2 weeks. I expected jitters, BUT was never warned about dizziness; the muscles in each of my arms ache, I can't even put one arm above my shoulder; my throat is tight (I could still breathe, but swallowing was difficult). I woke up at 3 am with my chest having full convulsions--like upper body was on a paint shaker. Lasted 30 seconds. I almost went to the ER, BUT I knew they wouldn't be able to do anything. I called Dr this morning...and she said take some benadryl today & let them know tomorrow if it helped. I'm not sure what the course of action will be if it doesn't. I'm tempted to take some activated charcoal, but that will lessen the effects of my antibiotic; so i just don't know what to do. They said it's a slow release one so it'll be in my system for WEEKS! Weeks on benadryl is no way to live. I can't take the throat & chest tightness for weeks. So fingers crossed benadryl does the job."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Allergic Rhinitis "I had been dealing with a year and a half of sinus migraines, several rounds of antibiotics, OTC allergy meds, etc. and my sinuses never seemed to clear up from seasonal allergies. It was more like year-round allergies. My doctor recommended the kenalog shot and within 2 days, the sinus pressure went away, I didn't have migraines, and I felt normal. I don't recall having any shakes or other side-effects like that, but I DO have an indentation in my buttocks at the injection site. However, I recently discovered that I am sensitive to some adhesives in bandages so it may be from that instead of the injection. Also, it may be interesting to note that ~1mo after my injection I had 6 weeks of vaginal bleeding, not quite a period, not quite spotting. It went away on it's own, so I am curious now if that was related to the Kenalog shot or a different cause. About 2 months after that cleared up is when I felt the Kenalog effectiveness go away and I'm "due" for another shot."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Osteoarthritis "I am 74 years young, active person. Had pain in my jaw for about three weeks, could hardly talk or eat. Thinking it was something awful, I went to the E.R. and the MD there ordered a CAT Scan of the mandible, etc. Finally, the report came in as Osteo-Arthritis of the jaw area and inflammation, etc. Well, I was given 2 injections: one of Toradol for pain and Kenalog for the inflammation. Amazingly, after about one hour, I felt much better. Hardly any pain. The doctor told me to see my own MD for follow up and to take Aleve for pain until then. I will be making an appt. ASAP since I was good for three whole weeks but now the pain is starting again. I don't want to take Aleve too much as it irritates the stomach and could be harmful if taken consistently. No side effects from either drug."

Kenalog-10 (triamcinolone) for Alopecia "I've been getting Kenalog shots for my alopecia once a month for five months now....Very little hair regrowth, the hair that has grown back is grey now, and the alopecia continues to spread. I've lost 40% of my beard over the past few months and nothing is helping, including Kenalog."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Osteoarthritis "I had an injection of Kenalog 3 days ago in my left thumb joint at base of thumb. I am miserable, pain, swelling, redness up my arm and burning itch and blisters. Some type of allergic reaction which apparently is not common…however I got this reaction. I’m scared since my symptoms are similar to a skin infection (cellulitis), so just started antibiotics and an anti inflammatory. Terrible drug..I was so happy to relieve my arthritis pain and this has happened. How long until this drug is out of my system?"

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Osteoarthritis "70 years, was given kenalog-40/lidocane 10% injection in knee. 2 days later, stomach problems started; queasy, cramps, partial loss of appetite, burping constantly, and not feeling well. I am in to a week since the injection. Called the Dr's. office and was told this is one of the common side-effects. Lasting time varies on individuals. Please be informed of side effects before receiving injections. I will not take it again, I will endure knee pain. I have stomach cramps all day/everyday. Pray and hope side effects end soon. Please be informed about what a doctor is administering."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Inflammatory Conditions "This injection dex/kenalog was the only treatment that works for my severe atopic dermatitis; I would have preferred never taking this shot If I knew the side effects once I stopped. Let me give a timeline since I stopped: Month 3 Debilitating Anxiety/Sense of Dread. Month 5 Sinus Tachycardia when driving (unable to drive). Month 8 Anxiety/Heart Palpitations. Month 12 Manageable Anxiety. The recovery from this drug is agonizing, the only peace I had while recovering was learning to accept my own mortality. I'm still recovering and it might take another year to be 100%. Taking hydrocortisone 5mg allows temporary relief from anxiety. Needless to say I'll be rating this a 1."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I went to doctor and told her my left arm was starting to freeze up like the right one did. I have R A for 15 yrs. The next morning I thought a miracle had taken place. Never felt so good for so many years. Went to Costa Rica and after about two months it returned. Came home and after searching for the drug. They had it at the hospital. Took it to my doctor and he gave it to me in right hip. Didn't last but about one month. Next time he gave it to me in my left hip and it maybe lasted 3 weeks. The next time I ask him to give it were my other doctor in Panama city beach,fl gave it to me. In my left arm and it is still lasting. Also noticed how my complexion cleared up. I have rosacea. Once it got in my eyes. You need to get it from a hospital drug store."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Frozen Shoulder "I have had nothing but a horrific experience with the Kenalog injection my doctor gave me. I asked him what were the side effects. All he said was I had never had a patient have any at all that it is a safe injection which will help you. What this doctor did was not give patients a true and fair opinion, so should not be practicing medicine! All people should get a full opinion of the risks period which over 300 reviews I have read almost all the patients claim the very same thing! Just one shot has given me life changing side effects an it’s almost been a year now. 1) Immediately I almost fell down 2) within 15 minutes the left side of my face an ear was red hot 3) shortness of breathing which still exits 4) nervous all the time 5) very strange growth in my abdomen which no one has figured out yet 6) ear infection 7) extremely painful head aches. People don’t ever let ur dr do this to you. My dr lied 2me"

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Asthma "Really helps for lung constriction, but the side effects are staggering. Within forty eight hours I was shaking uncontrollably, face red, felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest, face turned into steroid "moon pie", sweating and cannot sleep. Breathing is more important, but this is a ride I wish I could get off of."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Frozen Shoulder "My doctor offered this shot as a miraculous and risk free (except some rare infections) solution for my minor shoulder pain. I took it like an idiot, trusting him. I got 80mg in each shoulder. My shoulders do feel amazing. Range of motion is like I’ve never had before. But the sides have been debilitating. I am a month out. I really hope I will not be dealing with this long term. Here’s what I’ve had: -Insomnia (I slept no more than 2-3 hours for 3 whole weeks. It’s better now, but only just) -Acid Reflux (Never had that before. Severe. Lasted 2 weeks) -Acne from hell (No really. My otherwise clear face, neck, chest, back broke out in painful pustules that burned and lots of them. Antifungals and antibiotics did not touch. It is starting to clear after one month) -Huge Spike in Blood Pressure (went from 100/60 to 150/85) -Myopathy (I am an athlete. My training has been wrecked. I am so much weaker than I was. This continues to deteriorate despite continued training)"

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Allergic Rhinitis "I receive Kenalog 40 as an injection in my arm and within 1.5 weeks my nose is like a normal healthy nose again! I have a full sense of smell and no longer lose my sense of taste either, it’s absolutely glorious and is the only thing that makes me feel like a normal person with no nasal problems. It also definitely lasts longer than 3 months for me, it’s closer to 6 months in my experience."

Zilretta (triamcinolone) for Osteoarthritis "I had Zilretta injections several times in my left knee which was bone to bone from degenerative arthritis at age 73 and I am a big man of 200 pounds. First injection gave partial relief for about 9-10 weeks maximum and each consecutive dose less effective down to about 4 weeks of relief with last dose. A big problem is they would only give another injection after 90 days so waiting for the next dose meant a lot of pain between doses. I quickly realized it is pain management only and the degenerative condition gets worse as you do more activity on the knee with reduced pain. So surgery is inevitable. You might as well go ahead with TKR. Also, it is a steriod. Several of my injections were painful at injection time and fact was for me, the surgeon delayed my surgery by 120 days saying Zilretta, as a steriod, gave increased risk of infection if given close to surgery date. I would not do it again. I would opt for TKR as soon as pain of bone to bone appears. They do not tell all up front."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) "I’m 53 years old and do resistance training 5 days a week to keep my genetic cholesterol in check. My shoulder was hurting for a few years and getting worse. It was so painful when I finally went to the doctor I could hardly lift my arm to put a shirt on. I received this shot on a Friday. By Monday morning I felt like I was only 20 years old. I went from dealing with constant pain to zero pain in three days. I went from struggling with 25 lb. dumbbells to easily using 40 lb. dumbbells. I went from doing 4 sets of 25 pushups to 4 sets of 50 pushups. I almost doubled all the weight I had been struggling to lift before this medication and I felt like Superman. It was amazing for me! I had no side effects. The negative thing is I was 100% pain free for only three weeks and then the pain started slowly coming back. It’s still tolerable after two months. Now it only hurts when I resistance train even though I’m back to using lighter weights. At least I can still lift my arm pain free when I put on a shirt."

Kenalog-10 (triamcinolone) for Alopecia "I have been on monthly injections for over four years. At one point I recovered 90% of my hair back only to lose my hair once again. Injections have since stopped as it just was no longer working. I am now trying the acid treatment on my scalp as a final attempt. It could be very frustrating yet only causes stress when people make it a point to remind you your hair is falling out."

Zilretta (triamcinolone) for Osteoarthritis "I have been getting Zilretta injections in both knees for about 18 months, the early injections were lasting 11-12 weeks, now I get about 8 weeks of relief starting about the second day after the injection. I now schedule almost injections exactly 12 weeks apart, I wish I could get them every 8 weeks and not have to deal with the pain for 4 weeks waiting for the next injection. I am 43 and need both knees replaced, it stinks but I am holding off as long as I can. I have seen no side effects of Zilretta."

Kenalog-40 (triamcinolone) for Lupus "I was in such pain from the multiple autoimmune diseases I have. When asked about my pain scale at my rheumatologist I said I had passed stage 10 ages ago. I literally didn't want to move, I hurt everywhere. My doctor said we would try kenalog 40. I was so incredibly pleased. I got fairly quick relief, and in several days was moving normally. I had no side effects I am aware of. This so far had been a success story for me. I had my 90 days shot a couple of weeks ago."
