Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I have had psoriasis for 35 years tried herbal, steroids, quack diets, tablets, different ointments (except daivonex cream) and nothing improved my condition, I have been on Cosentyx for four weeks and my skin is already 75% clear."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I have had plaque psoriasis for over 20 years tried otezla, methotrexate creams and lotions. Cosentyx has come to my rescue it has cleared my skin and I feel like a human being. For the first time in years I can wear clothes with short sleeve shirts there's no plaque on my face. I've only started this treatment but it keeps improving my skin all the time. I have never been happier I thought this could never happen and it did clear skin does happen!"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I've been taking Cosentyx for just shy of a year and my psoriasis has gotten way worse. The itching is something I never had to deal with and it has spread. The sinus troubles are horrible. I've been on so many, I'm not sure if anything is going to help."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I've had plaque psoriasis for about 5 years now, had it on my scalp as a child and it laid dormant until I turned 30 then BOOM covered in plaques all over. Was prescribed methotrexate originally in low doses which helped but never got me clear. Then slowly my doses had to be increased just to keep me somewhat controlled. I begged my Dr to let me try the newer meds (biologics), he was old school and insisted we stick with the old drugs. I was given a referral to a new dermatologist and thank God for him! Within the first week of my loading doses, my skin began to clear and also feel "normal". Those with psoriasis know how you feel it coming on just under the skin. I'm about to take my 4th loading dose and all that's left is the red areas where my bad plaques were. Every time I shower and exfoliate, they get lighter and fade more and more. The only side effects I've had are feeling slightly jittery directly after my injection and feeling tired. To curb that, I take my shots at bedtime now."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "Have been on Cosentyx for almost a year and wondering if anyone else may have experienced vision problems after taking this drug? I am 43 years old and had an “eye stroke” called BRVO in one eye, which is very uncommon for someone my age. I also have a lot of eye twitching. My ALT & AST enzymes have also been elevated while taking Cosentyx. Thank you in advance for your feedback."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I just took my injection yesterday and I'm already seeing some improvement so by the mid-month I should be clear I'm feeling very hopeful I've been dealing with this over 20 years I was on Humira but as most of us know your body gets immune it did work I was on it for maybe over 5 years it did clear it up but for the last couple years my body has resisted it."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I have had psoriasis since I was about six months old, having to lay on a towel from being unable to wear diapers, breaking out in horrible burning rashes from almost anything scented. Years of being subjected to laser therapies, tar shampoos and soaps, oatmeal baths( oatmeal EVERYTHING....don't even get me started on aveeno), all it does is smell good. I have tried vitamins, light therapy, other shots, medications, and nothing would get rid of the growing scaly red flaky patches on my scalp, forehead, ears, and elbows. Side effects I had itching for a few days, bruising from site injections, dizzy for about 30 minuted after dose, but otherwise no complaints. This is a specialty drug. It has to be refrigerated and you have to take two shots once a month, self inject or have a family member do it but they are sensory pens so not too hard or complicated."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I've had psoriasis since I was 5 yrs old the moderate to severe form of them. I developed Psoriatic Arthritis on top of my already moderate to severe psoriasis after being abruptly removed from Stelara in 2016 when I was diagnoised with thyroid cancer. After I had the thyroidectomy I developed Psoriatic Arthritis Flare its believed to have been brought on by Endocrinologist abruptly stopping my Stelara injections (most doctors don't understand biologic medication). I started Cosentyx Sept 2018 and I have been 100% clear ever since self injecting is easy peasy 30 minutes on counter top and couple minutes under my arm pit (yup) no pain only mild bruising. I have to say for me Cosentyx has not been a miracle for my psoriatic arthritis flare that has been on going now for 2.5 yrs attacking my tendons and now knees. This disease stinks and has left me house bound alot...awful. Remember all magic comes with a price!"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I just need to tell people if you have mild Psoriasis, live with it, because if you take strong medication, later you will end up with all body covered with Psoriasis, during my 30years with Psoriasis I had very small spot on my leg & because I wanted it to disappear, I follow all kinds of medication and now I am 90% covered with P, anyway this is my advise to new patient with Mild or little, when it is little, it does not hurt, I know it looks bad, but live with it, it is a monster, when you have too much of it you will wish you didn't start I use to be on Enbrel but it failed after many years, now I had 5 weeks of cosentyx , first 3 weeks I had so much spots may be 60% of my body because I stopped Enbrel and I had so much pain , and so much skin on my floor after the 4 weeks I feel better, little pain, very little skin shedding but all the spots are not cleared yet, I hope it will be cleared in next month , I let you know I put 5 stars because I am still starting"

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I’m now 40 and I just started to have psoriasis at 36. I started Cosentyx in February and it’s now May and the plaques have lightened a lot but haven’t went completely away. My biggest concern is that I’ve been actively working hard to lose weight since November and had lost close to 35lbs when I started Cosentyx. I’ve been on a strict diet since November and exercise program working out 5 to 6 days a week starting January. February I started the starter doses of 2 shots a week for 4 weeks of Cosentyx, I’ve gained the entire amount of weight back mainly in my midsection, regardless of how much I try to lose. I’ve taken the monthly dose now for 2 months and keep gaining. I’ve talked to my dermatologist about it and he just keeps referring to the companies claim it doesn’t cause weight gain. I disagree because that’s the only thing that’s changed in my regiment. I think I’m going to stop taking. I’d deal with the psoriasis than to keep gaining."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I had very mild psoriasis, it was mainly on the scalp had 6 or 7 small lesions on different places on my body. I started consentyx 6 weeks ago. I started with a loading dose of 150 once a week for the 1st 2 weeks. I didn’t see any progress and I was really frustrated so I decided to increase the dose to 300 once a week after that, within 2 weeks I was 100% free , now I take 300 every month as a maintenance dose and I thank god everyday for this medication."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "Plaque psoriasis started when I was 22 (13 years ago). Used steroid creams but it got to where it covered so much of my body, it was impossible to treat - so I simply maintained. About 18 months ago, I finally decided to get a dermatologist. We started on Otezla and after about 5 months, there was no more improvement (which was very little). After 1 year of Otezla, asked my derm about Cosentyx. We started that March 2018. After the first month of loading doses, I went from about 60% of my body clear to 75% clear. After my May dose, I am now almost 100% clear. It did leave behind discolored areas of skin where the larger plaques were but that is slowly fading away with tanning and continued Cosentyx injections. Easy injectable pens and little to no side effects. Definitely worth considering. "

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I started Cosentyx after my Dermatologist did a biopsy on 2 spots & it came back psoriasis. She also suspected psoriatic arthritis due to my complaints of joint pain. After expensive lab work to check for TB/hepatitis, I was started on the 5 week starting dose of Cosentyx @ 300mg/week. After week 3-4 I noticed more sinus trouble than normal, developed an acne like rash on both sides of chest, psoriasis developed in ears/lobes, and scalp worsened. It did not do a thing for me & I do regret taking it. I found a new dermatologist who told me to d/c Cosentyx, gave me topicals & wants me to start Humira to treat PA and psoriasis. I’m nervous due to the reaction & lower immunity but told I need to treat PA or joints will worsen. For years of not knowing I had psoriasis, then getting diagnosis & treatment has been life altering. I feel the Cosentyx made things worse & was not for me."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I was put on consentyx about five weeks ago before that was on remicade. I had no blood sugar issues until now. Please just for your safety get your blood sugar checked. I had no issues on remicade and went for routine physical and blood sugar was 500 mg after fasting should be in 100-112 range. It can cause big health issues. They are trying to figure it out now. I’ll keep u posted. I am not bad mouthing the drug because I am grateful they are finding better treatment - I just think they should look into this. Search for this online and you will see."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "My grandma had it bad. Then at 49 I got it bad. Tried humira, no luck. Now I've been on cosentyx for about 14 months. The thick plaques are gone. Dr did have to up me to 450 mg a month as of last week. It kind of makes my stomach hurt, but I'd rather have a tummy ache than be itching to death. I never knew how tough granny was. This stuff isn't cheap but I was ready to just die. Feel better now."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "I just started taking Cosentyx for plaque psoriasis I took my 4 weeks of injection and now on my once a month injection I have cleared up but still not sure what it will do at taking only once a month but this is the trial period but so far so good. Every now and then I still itch some but nothing like before. No side effects which is great cause everything I tried before I had side effects and had to stop taking I felt so bad all the time nausea was extreme."

Cosentyx (secukinumab) "50 year old Trial attorney with an exceptionally stressful job. Second year of law school, developed a few small spots. Lived with it for 20 plus years with only two large patches on both ankles of which I would cover up; one big spot on my left knee. While on vacation, severe case of strep throat. Started Penicillin, cleared my strep throat up and 4 days later, my ENTIRE body flared up. It was horrible. This NEVER happened, ever before and was clearly caused by strep throat. Began first (nothing else) Cosenytx 300 mg. Just finished my 2nd dosage and starting 3rd Tuesday. It has "SLOWLY" helped. Itching is gone. The red patches have definitely reduced in their inflammation. I feel positive but the jury is still out. I will give it more time and see what happens. Fortunately, insurance covered it after much fighting (and photographs of my body). First biologic ever as never needed it before. Some mild edema on both ankles but no "major" side effects as of yet."
