For Dry Eye Disease "I have been using Lacriserts for 12 years. They are remarkable. So why have they stopped making them. Walgreen's says they are the only provider and they can no longer get them. Please let me know where I can get these"

For Eye Redness "I make no tears. If it were not for this insert, I would have been put on the disabled list over 10 years ago. This medicine is safe and wonderful. I love it and thank God every day for it. If not for this medication, I would never be able to leave my house because without it my eyes hurt terribly"

For Eye Redness "My eyes are painful if I open them too quickly. Sometimes even when just blinking, they stick closed. The Lacriserts are a God send. The only major drawback (well, minor in relation to the benefits) is that I have to remove the inserts within 10 hours or they become like a glue and actually add to the pain. But during the 10 hours it's like a miracle!"

For Dry Eye Disease "I have been using Lacriserts for at least 20 years, I have dry eye from sjogrens disease. Like other people say they are a God send. I have not been able to get them this last month and I now get to be totally miserable with my dry eyes since they have absolutely no tears. This is the third time his has happened to me. It is a necessity for me. Can someone please tell me why they are not available? I am in a lot of pain and so far this is the only medication that works for me, OTC or prescription"

"I used Lacrisert 3 times and on the third and final use I experienced extreme adverse reaction that has caused blurred vision that has never improved. The pain and vision loss was so bad I was seen in the emergency room triage. The nurse stating "This drug has messed your eyes up " I was given two injections to counter act the drug and one for pain. I now live with one eye that will not open completely ,near constant blurred vision to the point I am unable to do anything for up to 10 hours at times. My right eye wanders around independent of the left eye. An opaque film almost constantly until I can clear it with preservative free Over the counter eye drops. This is an incredibly expensive way, but the only way to gain any relief"

For Dry Eye Disease "I have been using Lacrisert for thirty plus years and have not been able to get a prescription for months. I was told they are on six month backorder. My pharmacy has given up calling the company. I have contacted the company to no avail. I need help and don't know what to do."

"I sit in front of a computer non stop for 7-8 hrs a day at work for decades, and these have given me a quality of life back! I used to pour lubricating eye drops in my eyes repeatedly throughout the day. I suffer from severe dry eyes, and nothing else has given me long term relief like Lacrisert has. I was on Restasis Drops for over 10 yrs, tried Lipiflow & Blephx treatments, a few times, all are expensive, but I did not have the positive results as I do with Lacrisert. I did not notice the but price of the Lacrisert has also just increased through my insurance provider. This is terrible! But, I cant live without them, heavy sigh ........."

"This was more effective than anything else I've ever tried, including the very expensive Restasis and Xiidra. Since Bausch and Lomb clearly has no interest in making this anymore (it's been over a year and a half that it has been unavailable), they ought to sell it to someone who will or release the patent so someone can make a generic. I'll never buy another B&L product."

For Eye Redness "I have tried everything to help with my dry eyes...Lacriserts have helped me so much! I was putting eye drops in my eyes 100 times a day and they still were so painful and dry. I had light sensitivity and terrible pain. After using these I hardly ever have to use eye drops anymore. My light sensitivity is gone and I feel about 90% better and more normal. I do find that towards the end of the day I may have to remove them because they get a little globby and can smear my vision, but a small trade off for feeling so much better."

For Dry Eye Disease "For years Ive had a severe abrasion in my left cornea due to an injury. I’ve used artificial tears in the day & lubricant eye gel at night for years to keep my left eye wet with the tears. I was relieved to find Lacrisert which kept my cornea wet with tears & not irritated all day. Constant use of artificial tears just doesn’t perform as well as Lacrisert & can be a nuisance/inconvenient to use in most cases. I thought I had found the solution for the problem. There are no side effects from the use of Lacrisert. I was hoping to continue the use of Lacrisert. For months, or more now, Lacrisert hasn’t been available & I don’t understand how COVID can really make that much of a difference in the manufacturing. There must be an underlying reason why it can’t be manufactured. I’d like to know."

"I used Lacriserts for years and found them to be the best solution for dry eyes. Then they went off the market in early spring and couldn't find them anywhere. When they became available again I could only wear them for 3-4 hours a day without irritation. I am wondering if the formulation changed when they were unavailable."

"Lacrisert has saved my sanity!!! I can't live without this for my dry eyes. It's the first product that makes my eyes feel normal. I would rank it a 10, but I am discounting it by one due to the fact that they start to get gooey after having them in 10-12 hours (depending on humidity) & they don't last as long as my day does."

For Dry Eye Disease "I tried Lacriserts for the second time. The applicator makes it very difficult placing something so tiny in my eye. I find myself blinking constantly because it feels like the lens moves around in my eye. That can be horrible if it continues. Still find myself using Serum Tears and Systane. A little disappointed with Lacriserts. Has anyone experienced similar side effects?"

For Dry Eye Disease "Like many others have commented, these are a godsend for severe dry eyes. I'm disappointed and very worried that production now seems to have been discontinued for no apparent reason, or that there at least are very serious production issues. Praying that someone might be able to supply this again soon, so I will still be able to work full time without getting eye inflammation!"

For Dry Eye Disease "I had used Lacriserts for over 15 years with very good results. The middle of 2020, my pharmacy stated they were on back order. They were again available the last quarter of 2020. I started having problems using Lacriserts. Instead of slowly dissolving in my eyes, they started to dissolve into a gluey clump of sticky substance on my eye, that was difficult to remove. My vision was becoming increasing worse, with constant blurred vision in my right eye. I made an appointment with my Optometrist and after several tests was prescribed PrednisoLone acetate for inflammation, for 3 weeks; with a follow-up at that time. We agreed to stop the Lacriserts for now. However, I doubt if I will ever use Lacrisert again. After the Lacriserts became available the last quarter of 2020, the product was different as if the chemical formulation had changed or something."

For Dry Eye Disease "Best thing ever for severely dry eye. Takes a bit to get used to insert, but really easy once you figure out. I produce less than 10% of normal tears from Sjogrens disease. It’s the only relief I had for a normal life. It’s out of stock and being held hostage until they get new facility up and reapproved by FDA… so B&L say. There should be a generic. Crazy expensive for what it is. If you make more tears, these might not be for you."

For Dry Eye Disease "The worst thing I have tried. Not only is the packaging perilous — the little bugle bead-sized insert can easily slip away — but trying to get it to come off the applicator ends up with me having to scrape it against my inside lid a few times, which irritates the lid! No matter how long I try to hold the cupped position to allow the bead to settle in the lower lid, it will immediately pop to the edge of the my lid. Within an hour of insertion, I find them slightly enlarged and sitting near my tear duct, or covered in eye secretions and lying on my cheek. And the price is reprehensible. It amazes me that anyone has had a positive experience with this medication."

For Dry Eye Disease "After a year of fighting to find this “drug” again. , I was able to get it from Canada. I made calls to B&L, my drs, numerous pharmacies. Unfortunately, paid ridiculous amount because my insurance says it was not an emergency drug use and Royo don’t approve from Canada. First of all, it’s not even a drug. It’s made by Valeant which is associated/owned by B&L in Canada. Cvs finally got it in back in stock and I hoard them in case of backlog again. I don’t use as often as I would like.. twice a day. I have severe Sjogrens disease and MALT lymphoma in parotids due to Sjogrens. These are the difference between being able to work and function. Shame on insurance and huge mark up of these pellets made from Hydroxpropyl Cellulose."
