Simcor (niacin / simvastatin): I am experiencing very brittle nails and have been on SIMCOR for at least 6 months. My nails are constantly breaking down to the quick and splitting. I suspect the reason is the SIMCOR as I had healthy normal nails prior to taking this drug. However, I am also going through menopause so this probably doesn't help. My cholesterol levels have improved but I will discuss this possible side effect with my cardiologist at the next visit.
