Simcor (niacin/simvastatin) for High Cholesterol: Been taking 2 Simcor daily along with 145mg Tricor. All my readings were better than 10 mg Lipitor and 145mg Tricor.

Simcor (niacin/simvastatin) for High Cholesterol: Flushes are really bad, lasting up to 4 hours. Also had incredible itching, almost unbearable even after 6 weeks.

Simcor (niacin/simvastatin) for Hyperlipoproteinemia: I am experiencing very brittle nails and have been on SIMCOR for at least 6 months. My nails are constantly breaking down to the quick and splitting. I suspect the reason is the SIMCOR as I had healthy normal nails prior to taking this drug. However, I am also going through menopause so this probably doesn't help. My cholesterol levels have improved but I will discuss this possible side effect with my cardiologist at the next visit.

Simcor (niacin/simvastatin) for High Cholesterol: Been taking 2 Simcor tablets daily. Was on 10mg Lipitor and 145mg Tricor. Cholesterol was okay but my triglycerides went over 500. Tricor has been added to Simcor now. LDL and HDL did improve.
