Meprozine (meperidine / promethazine) for Pain "Complications from a first colo-rectal surgery had me in the OR two additional times within a three week span. Very painful. Doc had me on Meprozine for pain and Valium for colon spasms. Meprozine was very good at pain relief--kept me feeling drunk and out-of-it. Side effects were extreme drowsiness, and blurred vision. "

Meprozine (meperidine / promethazine) for Pain "After removal of 2 infected teeth, dentist prescribed meprozine which worked very well. I have problems with many pain meds and have allergic reaction to codeine. I also have problems keeping medicine down and this med did not upset my stomach at all. What a great relief to find this medicine."

Meprozine (meperidine / promethazine) for Pain "I have Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and I am in at least 6 or 7 level pain most of the time without meds. A lot of pain meds make me nauseated or leave me woozy. For some reason Meprozine doesn't make me feel light headed at all and the phenergan in it keeps me from being nauseated. I was able to go to college and graduate with honors because I actually felt like doing something!"

Mepergan Fortis (meperidine / promethazine) for Pain "I found this medicine very useful for pain. I had my ankle operated on and they prescribed this to me. I have to agree with most of the reviews. I felt little to no pain but I slept all the time and now when my ankle becomes painful I will take a pill and I have to lay down. My mouth stayed dry the whole time, I couldn't get enough liquids in me."

Mepergan Fortis (meperidine / promethazine) for Pain "I used this medicine everyday for sixteen yrs. It didn't really help that much with pain but it took me out of reality so I didn't care if I was in pain. Not an addicting feeling, so when I stopped it cold turkey when I moved to a different state I didn't feel sick for not having it."

Meprozine (meperidine / promethazine) for Pain "Prescribed for pain relief of kidney stone(s). Found meprozine to be very effective in reducing pain. For me it also had very soothing psychological effect; that everything was going to be alright. Just what I needed in the said situation. Doctor recently said they don't make it as much anymore, not sure why."

Meprozine (meperidine / promethazine) for Pain "I recently had a plate and screws put in my wrist due to a fall. After the surgery they sent me home with this medicine. The only concern I have is I dont know if the medicine relieved my pain because all I could do is SLEEP. It made me so groggy. Even after I woke up I was still not all there feeling very light headed with NO ENERGY AT ALL"

Mepergan Fortis (meperidine / promethazine) for Pain "I tolerated this drug very well after dental surgery and regret that it is no longer available. The combination of Demerol and promethazine created a medicine that tended to be more effective for pain than Demerol tablets. I had no unpleasant side effects. Easy to use, difficult to get."

Mepergan Fortis (meperidine / promethazine) for Pain "I took this after a botched ex-implant surgery when it had to be redone a 2nd time. The first surgeon cut into the implant which leaked out into the body cavity then a second surgeon had to go in and clean up his mess. This helped keep me out of pain while my body was resting, repairing and regenerating. Of course, I slept most of the time. The 2nd M.D. was much better and more informed that the first one. It really helped and I was on it about 2.5 weeks. I didn't have any side effects coming off of it."
