Caplyta (lumateperone) "Caplyta has been great! I’ve had no major side effects and I’m sleeping well! It’s not as sedating as Seroquel, which is nice, and I don’t feel groggy the next day. I get restless legs for no more than an hour about 2-3 hours after taking it. I have noticed a big improvement in my mood, and I’m a lot more hygienic than I was before. I highly recommend you try it! Very expensive ($1500/mo), but with the coupon it’s $15!"

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I've been on Caplyta for about 5 weeks now. I've been through seven different medications in the past year and a half that have caused severe side effects including suicidal thoughts and uncontrollable jaw movements. Caplyta is the first medication that has worked for me with only minor side effects. I get minor headaches, dry mouth, and I have to pee a lot but I can deal with it. My house is clean for the first time in years, I can feel happiness for the first time in years, and I have hope for the first time in years. I don't seem to need Klonopin anymore which is a major plus!"

Caplyta (lumateperone) "Caplyta is an amazing medication for me! I have largely treatment resistant Bipolar II depression for 25 years. Caplyta is the BEST antipsychotic used for bipolar disorder that I have ever been prescribed. Only one side effect (stomach upset and diarrhea) the first 3-4 days. I noticed a difference in myself after about 10 days of taking Caplyta. Negative obsessive thoughts, bleak outlook, listlessness and motivation/energy were the symptoms helped the most. I am living a fuller life filled with hope and motivation. Again, amazing med!"

Caplyta (lumateperone) "Its been about 2 weeks since I started taking Caplyta and so far I've only noticed the side effects and not so much of any drastic change in depression. Maybe a little more clear-headed and calm but It still needs more time to work. The side effects I've noticed seem weird and uncommon compared to other reviews. It definitely puts me to sleep, so I take it at night. I've noticed the palms of my hands are super red, but I'm not hot at all. Also, my acid reflux came back, frequent urination, the occasional headache, and my hair is shedding a lot/falling out :/ (assuming it's the medication). On the bright side, I'm losing a lot of weight, have no changes in libido, (thank God), and have no feelings of suicide, which most other meds cause for me. Going to keep taking it as I hear the side effects should be going away soon. * Will be taking vitamins for my hair though"

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I was started on Caplyta 42mg which literally knocked me out and into the ER. The side effects ended after about 8 hours. I didn't take anymore but surprisingly I felt better ( I was in a BAD depression). When I went back to the doctor I asked him to reduce the dosage to 10.5mg which he did. I made sure I was in bed and did not have to get up before I took it (which I highly recommend doing). A few days later I upped the dose to 21mg which is working great. I feel better than I have felt in over 5 years. I was at a crossroads: death or change. The Caplyta was the change I needed. I am 3x as active as I was before, kinda hypomanic, but feel wonderful. The side effects I have are a stuffy nose one hour after taking (I use sinus spray for that), lightheadedness within 30 minutes I need to go to bed, my blood pressure drops about 20 points systolic and diastolic, I occasionally have trouble swallowing when I try to make myself swallow. No weight gain."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I started Caplyta 42 mg and everything was fine at first. After a month, I started having severe anxiety and could not function. My body temperature could not be regulated, and I had to pee all the time. I felt groggy and weak every morning too. This continued from August until October. When a severe depressive episode began, I finally had to get off this drug. My psychiatrist put me back on Abilify."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I have been on Caplyta for three months now and it has been life changing for me. I switched from Invega, which for me was ineffective and had a huge array of side effects, and the day my psychiatrist made the switch, I felt so much better! It took a couple weeks for the psychotic symptoms and to actually fully stop but I instantly had my energy back and I could participate in life. The biggest thing for me was that I had been on various antipsychotics for three years with little success but Caplyta has hugely improved my quality of life! It has some side effects, I can’t take it with dinner because it makes me very drowsy about an hour after I take it and I have to go to bed and the first night I took it, I had the sensation of a bad sunburn on my arms and legs but this for me went away after the initial use. For me it’s been incredible but I know it’s not right for everyone"

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I was nervous taking this after reading of the possible side effects. The day after my first dose, I had a horrible headache all the next day, but no symptoms continued after that. Day 3 and I’m already feeling better! Depression has been horrible this past year. But now I have a will to live again! Would recommend trying it for bipolar depression."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I'm terrible at taking my medications regularly, Caplyta has been no exception. I take 1 at night and sleep like a baby for about 8 to 10 hours. I get no negative side effects at all. They are expensive, but if they work with no negative effects, to me that's priceless. I take it erratically, but it has boosted my mood a little, probably due to more sleep. It's also calmed me a little, I'm less moody, and have fewer mood swings. I'm slower to react, and I even think before I speak on occasion. The pills are easy to swallow, and it takes about 30 minutes to kick in."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "After having horrible nausea with Lithium, my doctor switched me to caplyta. I felt my highs and lows to be less dramatic. My biggest issue was the extremely dry mouth, but besides that for me, I didn't have huge issues with the other known side effects."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I'm taking Caplyta for bi polar depression. I am 3 weeks in and the side effects are kinda rough. Super dry mouth and nausea, constant yawning and like a shaky feeling. I can tell it's working, but now I'm just noticing the side effects."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "The first day I took it, my body went into complete shock. I was so scared, I panicked to the point I couldn’t feel my heart beating. I called 911 and an ambulance came. They helped me get back to a normal state and reassured me that the medication was doing its job and I would feel better soon. They were right. The next day, I felt amazing. My thoughts were clear and not racing. I didn’t feel manic or depressed. I could stop and recognize my emotions. I was able to make sound decisions. I felt like a whole new person. If Latuda didn’t work for you, or you don’t do well on generic brand meds, I would try Caplyta. 10/10 recommend."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "Caplyta comes in 20 mg pills. I agree with all of the above reviews that my initial experience with the drug replicated the feeling of super icy or extremely hot sensitivity. I talked to my psychiatrist about this and he recommended opening up the capsule and taking a micro dose of the pill on my tongue -- or putting in apple sauce. That cuts down on those side effects. It works really well as an anti-depressant for bipolar and is one of the few drugs on the market that does that. And just as a side note, if you have bipolar depression, you shouldn't be taking anything in the serotonin class, because bipolar depression has nothing to do with dysregulation of serotonin. It will only make you more dysregulated over time. Caplyta is a D1, D2, and D4 antagonist, all of which have been shown to be implicated in bipolar depression."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I suffer from depression, possibly unipolar, possibly (what my current psychiatrist thinks) bipolar II. I've been on Caplyta 42mg for 11 months. The first few weeks, it seemed miraculous. I'd been suicidal due to lack of sleep; suddenly I was sleeping 7-8 hours a night, and, what's more, in a good mood all day, even in the early mornings and the evenings. There was a bit of grogginess but it wasn't bad. But gradually over the months the side-effects increased: the grogginess got worse, I seemed cold all the time, and I became easily confused in the evenings. And much of the positive effect on my mood went away; though my grogginess was greater--in fact it was the worst grogginess I'd experienced in my life--I was sleeping less. Part of the worsening side effects may be a results of my deteriorating kidneys (I'm in stage 3 kidney disease.) Now at 11 months the grogginess is slightly better, the chills are mostly gone, I'm sleeping 5-6 hours. My mood is usually good if I can wake up."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I started Caplyta about 6-7 months ago for Bipolar 1. Caplyta has changed my life! I never knew it wasn't possible to not have terrible, bad thoughts randomly. Caplyta no joke has completely stopped mine. I'm not having any yucky side effects, but I am starting to notice a little uncontrolled movement in my jaw and hands though. I recommend Caplyta so highly I'd do a commercial for them! :)"

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I have been on this for a year. I have not been monitored. I see that I should have been getting EKGs. I passed out twice in a grocery store, and when I was in the ER, they said I have QT prolongation. Caplyta is the cause of it. I don't have to stop it right away, but I need to get monitored more with EKGs because it will probably happen again. I call this medicine my 'miracle drug'; it has helped me tremendously. But I'm also wondering if the other side effects are worth it."

"I only took 1 pill and became dizzy and couldn’t walk right. I went to bed feeling weird and had a headache that kept me up all night. I was nauseous as well. Had to leave work to come home and sleep it off. Never again. Good luck maybe it will work for you."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "Within a couple of weeks of starting, my depression had gone from severe to moderate-severe. It was a noticeable improvement and was very welcome. I did not notice any side effects that I usually get with atypical antipsychotics. One of the few psych meds I've been on that I'd recommend!"

I get hungry but don't WANT to eat. I have no interest in eating. It's hard to force myself. I'm working with my doctor and therapist."

"I've been in the entire battery of atypicals as well as haldol and thorazine which did absolutely nothing to me all the mania meds in the rotation as well as every antidepressant most people have heard of from prozac to when cymbalta was the fad. Prozac worked in combination with zyprexa but it had devastingly strong side effects. All the other combinations did nothing worthwhile or the ones that stabilized me caused me to gain 200lbs over the years and would cause me to be unable to stay awake at work and I'm a licensed medical professional. I was highly skeptical when a clinic psychiatrist wanted to try another drug du jour after being completely off medications for 9 months for the 1st time in a decade. I had lost 2 great jobs in 3 months because I couldn't keep my bipolar butt together with 100% compliance with latuda. Nothing seems to bother me after 12 weeks well things, but I have a new take why not use my negative feelings as learning tools and caplyta makes this practice more palatable"

Caplyta (lumateperone) "I began Caplyta 42mg (at night) 8 days ago for Bipolar 2 depression after trying 15 other psych meds — lamictal, abilify, Seroquel, all the antidepressant classes including 2 MAOIs, etc. Antipsychotics turn me into a sexless sad zombie. Antidepressants do nothing (Wellbutrin brand name only 300-400mg works for 3 months then stops). I also have very severe Seasonal Affect Disorder, ADD, and CPTSD. First day on Caplyta, I had the worst throbbing headache of my life, woke up and ran to the bathroom dry heaving from the pain. Any water or food I threw up in under 2 minutes. 1g Tylenol barely touched the pain, maybe reduced 1/5. Also was groggy and couldn’t walk straight. It was like surprise unanesthetized neurosurgery. Day 2, the pain totally vanished. Within 4 days, I noticed myself becoming less withdrawn and more extroverted. It seems to wear off a little by EOD; hoping it stabilizes w/time. Only side effect has been dry mouth, hoping no sexual side effects! Fingers crossed."

Caplyta (lumateperone) "This medication has completely transformed me and my life. I am bipolar with drug-resistant depression. It took a VERY long time to get a correct diagnosis and get on the correct meds. I was told I just had depression, which was partially 'my fault' because I viewed my mania as me just feeling fine/normal. It took a lot of self-insight, journaling, and research to figure out it was mania/hypomania. Once I reported this to my doctor, we settled on the correct diagnosis. I have been on/tried SEVERAL medications with little to no improvements yet luckily with few side effects. I switched doctors about 1 year ago and 5 weeks ago today, I was put on CAPLYTA after reading a brochure. I requested to try it. INCREDIBLE results. Everything about me has improved. Literally everything. I would highly recommend talking to your doc about this. If I could give it a 100 out of 10, I would!!"
