For Diabetes, Type 2 "I have been taking Bydureon BCise for 6 weeks and have had no issues. If I eat the wrong foods or too much I have severe stomach pain, but if I control my food intake all is well. I have not had my AIC checked yet, but I am hoping it went down."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Even though I follow the instructions for use carefully, and have learned to leave the needle in for at least two minutes (longer than directed) after the medicine has completed the injection, it still too often squirts back out everywhere. This is an expensive product failure. Never had trouble with the previous Bydureon injection system, and am strongly considering looking at alternatives."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "The frequency of faulty pens is getting worse. I’ve been using the Bybureon BCise 2mg pen 1x per week for several years and know how to use it. Used to get a bad pen about once every 6 months. Have had 3 faulty pens in the last 6 months plus 2 today. Same problem with all: needle goes in but will not dispense medication. I pinch the skin while the needle is in and move it around trying to get it to work but without success. When I remove the pen from my skin the medication ejects into the air. They do replace the pens and ask that I return the bad pens in an envelope they will provide but they never send the envelopes. Seems to be a common issue experienced by others. This is not a new issue and has been going on for many years. Can’t believe they haven’t figured this out. Makes one wonder if they are making any effort to address this issue."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I have type 2 diabetes and began taking bydureon BCise for nearly 12 weeks now. Before I was injecting Novolin 3 times a day with Levemir at night. I am now only taking metformin and Januvia along with the Bydureon BCise in the last 4 months I have gone from 240lbs to 190lbs in conjunction with a diabetic diet and exercise. I have not experienced any of the many side effects listed except for the hard lumps that result at the injection site but they go away after a few weeks. I do experience some lethargy but exercising daily helps to maintain acceptable energy levels. It is very expensive; upwards of $850 for a 4 week supply/4 pens. However, with insurance, I only pay the co-pay of $30. I am very pleased with this product"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Have had 4 Bcise injectors malfunction in the last year, 3 in last 4 months. Like other comments the plunger fails to inject and when pulled away from the body the medication shoots out and once just slowly came out. Any idea if skin, hair or body fat can plug the needle or is it just mechanical problem with the injector?"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Have been using Byetta and then Bydureon since 2009. I was always happy with the results. I started using the Bydureon BCise version about a month ago. I don't like the delivery system at all. Several times I have experienced welts on my skin from the needle. I really think that the new pen does a less effective job of injecting the drug. My various daily blood glucose readings are higher by an average of 10 to 20 points. I plan to give BCise another few weeks. If my overall experience does not improve I will either go back to the older version of Bydureon or use another drug."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I started this medication along with Januvia and have been taking Januvia once a day and Metformin twice a day. I am on my second week. Doing ok but the injection sites are lumpy, red, painful and itchy. My endocrinologist says this is normal and takes about six weeks for the lumps to disappear. I am using an ice pack to calm the itchiness and pain. Every now and then I feel a little nauseous but I drink ginger tea and I’m OK. Hope this all calms down with time. My BS numbers are good in normal range."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "My last comments were at the end of July, 2018 and I wanted to follow up. It is now the end of Oct. and all is going well with my use of Bydureon Bcise. I have become comfortable with the injections and use a alcohol patch to sanitize my injection site prior to injection. I've noticed no injection site side effects. However my A1C is steady at 5.9, along with diet and exercise I've continued to loose weight now over 70lbs. My cholesterol went from over 200 to 91, needless to say my Drs and I are happy. That said I am more in tune with my stomach during meals, I can tell three bites in if the food agrees with the bydureon as my stomach will spasm to an uncomfortable level. So not all doses but very doable, I wish you all good luck and the success that I have had using this medication."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I start taking this medicine 3 weeks ago the first week. I had diarrhea and a small lump. The second week, I had diarrhea and the lump was larger and I had diarrhea. The third week the lump was larger and I had diarrhea. Two days after the injection I had hives and itching. There was no difference between this drug and Victoza with my blood sugars. The convenience of taking this medication once a week is very good but not everything is for everybody. My doctor took me off this medication."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I will be starting on Christmas Day, 2017. I must say that reading the reviews I've read, I am scared to death to try this. I only saw very few comments with good reviews. The majority comments are very scary. I'm so nervous and afraid to even start. I'm going to talk with my husband and share some of the good and bad comments with him and get his take on what I should do. Although my Endo Dr explained much of what I read regarding side effects. I not sure if it's worth ALL the illnesses. I've already been through so much with the diabetes. I'm about sick of it all. I like to wish you all well and much blessings too. Take good care everyone."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I took Bydureon BCise for 2 months but have stopped it as I have no appetite! Not interested in eating! If I'm hardy eating anything why take this every week? Read the side effects last up to 10 weeks! They can keep it! I have lost weight, of course because I'm hardly eating!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "The medication is excellent. It does everything it is suppose to do. The problem is the new plunger type injection pen. I have had so many failures that I have now changed my medication to Trulicity. The manufacturer is impossible to work with. If and when they decides to listen to his customers and revert back to the manual pens, I will return."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Needle pierces the skin but medicine fails to deploy. It falls out of the injection once I take it out of the body. Happened twice in a row with two injections, different parts of the body. From review on this site seems like I'm not alone. Medicine itself has worked great for several years when it was still the manual device."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Been on this drug for 5 years. My pharmacy changed it due to production by company The worst design for a shot pen. I wasted two pens tonight and still did not get my shot. Last month got half a shot cause medicine would not dispense. Caps are horrible to get off, for an elderly person. Please bring back old syringes"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Took my first injection on Friday night along with 500 mg Metformin and jardiance 25 mg in the morning. On Friday night and Saturday I had severe cramps in my legs and hands. I couldn’t leave home. Sunday I vomited after drinking a smoothie and nauseated after having my dinner. I soaked in epsom salt and hydrated with alkaline water. The cramps got better, but still nauseated. Sipping on Peppermint tea. Hope the nausea goes away or I won’t be taking this again. I really want it to work for me as I could benefit from the improved cholesterol and heart health as well as reduced a1c. #praying"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Started on this med 5 weeks ago with the 6th injection yesterday. No symptoms, no weight loss, don't know A1C level yet. Just welts on leg that take the full 6 weeks to disappear. The night or second night after, I wake 2 hours after sleeping start and have incredible restlessness and feel like I should get up and run forever to get it out of my system. Last night, I massaged legs, arms, stretched neck, etc. and finally after 3 hours went back to bed and slept soundly for 5 hours. I will confess I have been overcarbing with fruit (It's summer!) terribly, my appetite is not deterred although I am restricted because I had roux-en-y surgery 5 years ago. I am exercising every day along with gardening. Will reign in carbs and see what happens. Fasting blood sugar varies between 95 and 114."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Hard to commit on the actual medication results when these pens are mostly faulty. I have no understanding why they moved to these versus the manual injection pens. I have at a minimum of one pen a month not inject the drug and when you move the pen away it just spills out. Terrible design for the cost of these!!"
