Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "I have had a great experience with this birth control. It is a very low effort which allows me to focus on school, work and myself, not taking a pill every day. The ONLY side effects I have experienced was nausea in month 1 and 2 of use. I am on my second ring and it’s going great. I have very slight nausea on month one of the second ring. I have had no weight gain, no mood swings and no negative changes in skin. It just works and all the reminders sync automatically to your phones calendar. Also no pregnancies, which is the whole point!"

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "It's an easy method of contraception. It is a flexible ring and I can’t feel it. It's clearing up my skin like my old birth control pill but is better able to control periods. It also doesn’t require daily remembering."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "Love it, cannot feel it, and the manufacturers helpline had it delivered it to my door. Luckily, it didn't burn my partner like the nuvaring did (peva) since this one is silicone it is more body safe imo. No slipping issues whatsoever. sits comfortably above my pubic bone. I don't necessarily like that it presses on the urethra inside but I don't think I've had any issues with infection. This should be the first LARC everyone tries imo, it's that convenient, no tenaculum required for insertion like with IUDs. The synthetic hormones don't seem to affect me whatsoever compared to the implant and the various pills I've tried. My ins didn't want to cover it, and I didn't want to try anything else so I paid almost five benjamins for this."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "The Annovera ring was so squishy, I simply could not get it in. It had no form at all, was way too squishy, and I tried so many times and there’s no way it would have actually worked. It just kept flopping around and smushing. It was also huge. It’s nothing like the NuvaRing, because I’m actually ABLE to insert a NuvaRing because the NuvaRing actually has FORM and doesn’t just squish and flop around. Since the NuvaRing was the only birth control I’d ever tried that didn’t make me want to die, I asked my doctor to prescribe it as well just in case. So I ended up going back to my pharmacy and getting the NuvaRing again."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "I love Annovera so much. I tried using the pill but I always forgot to take it, and then I went on the generic version of NuvaRing, which made me so depressed and anxious that I had to get off it immediately. I was worried that nothing would work, but then I got Annovera and it's been amazing. I don't have to think about it too much, I just put it in my calendar when to take it out and put it back in. It hasn't affected my mood as much as the Nuvaring did, and it even got rid of my cramps!!!! I used to have cramps so bad that I'd curl up on the couch unable to move. Heating pads and Advil galore, and I'd often be sent home from work because of my pain. Annovera has gotten rid of that, and now I have incredibly minor cramps, and its amazing! I feel upset I didn't try it sooner because I've missed out on living my life when I was on my period in the past."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "Used the Nuvaring for a year and a half, absolutely loved it but gained 10 lbs. I saw the pamphlet for Annovera and talked to my gyno about it. Made the switch. I’ve been using it since the middle of March 2023, it’s now the beginning of June. So far so good. I’ve noticed that the week before I take it out, I gain water weight. Once I take it out within a day or two I lose 2- 5lbs. I know bloating and water weight are normal with any hormonal bc, it’s just annoying. Other than that, I haven’t gained any weight since switching. My breasts are definitely fuller but not bigger. No noticeable side effects other than bloating in the lower abdomen. Had one instance of breakthrough bleeding last month but it lasted less than a day. I have GAD so I’m always paranoid about my birth control effectiveness, even though I consider myself a “perfect use” user. With the NuvaRing I had 100% trust in it, and I know with time I’ll be there with Annovera. Oh, and my libido is back!"

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "I've had the Annovera for several months. Pros: easy to use and remove independently unlike Nexplanon and Mirena IUD. Weight loss. Unlike other long term birth control, I did not lose libido. Cons: The most intense abdominal pains constantly. I can hardly eat its so bad. Then once I take it out to start my periods, it's horrible cramps and abdominal pains. It's really increased my anxiety and I have been having short term memory issues since starting it. Driving me crazy!!!! I refuse to put it back in. I'm just glad I could take this one out myself."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "I started using Annovera 3 months ago. I've tried the patch and was on Nexplanon for a long time. I have PCOS, so it's hard for me to find a good fit. I struggle with unbearable periods as well as cystic acne, which is just something that comes with having PCOS. I did a lot of research before trying this birth control, and I want to give a completely honest review. When I saw that most people's reviews said it caused nausea, I expected it to kick in immediately. But honestly, once I put it in, I felt great, and my mood swings started to subside. My first period on it was so light, and I could function without pain for the first time in years. Then the second month came, and I started to get migraines, but they went away. One thing I can note is that my period has been 3-4 days, and I'm hungry all the time. I'm now on my third month, and the only negative thing I have to say is that my breasts are so heavy and have doubled in size. Overall, it's the best birth control I've tried yet, and I sometimes feel it during sex, but it's not a major issue for me."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "I've tried countless birth control pills and the Liletta IUD and terrible side effects from all of those, especially on my mental health. I had almost given up until I seen an advertisement for Annovera and decided to give it a try as a last resort. I'm so glad I did because it has been the best experience for me! I've had almost no side effects as of now and I've been using it for 3 cycles. It is a little tricky to put in at first but after some practice it's no problem. My husband can't feel during sex and neither can I. My OBGYN said I could use off-label to skip my periods but so far I have been taking it out to have my monthly period and it has helped so much. My periods used to be so heavy and painful but I now have no cramping and only 1 day of heavy bleeding. It has been a godsend for me! My health insurance only covered with prior authorization from my doctor, so be aware of this. After prior authorization, they covered at 100%. Without any insurance, you're looking at $2000."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "I’ve been on Annovera for 3 almost 4 months. I mixed feelings about this birth control. I love the fact that I don’t have to worry about birth control for a year. I know the instructions say to take it out after 21 days but my doctor told me to just leave it in and it’s been fine. I haven’t had a period in the 3 months that I’ve used it and I don’t have any spotting. Sometimes I do get very mild cramping every now and then but nothing bothersome. What I don’t like is that I did get a yeast infection the 1st week of insertion and my sex drive is completely gone. I have absolutely no desire for sex and I’ve never had this problem before. Sex is actually kind of painful due to extreme vaginal dryness which I’ve never experienced before. I had to stop using the IUD due to the unpleasant side effects so I’m still searching for the right one. I kind of want to stop using this now due to the lack of sex drive. I do also get the mood swings from but not that often."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "I am 19, I've been on the pill multiple times and absolutely hated it. I had such a hard time remembering to take the pill and would have terrible breakthrough bleeding for months. I've had the Annovera ring in for 7 days and so far I absolutely love it. I can't feel it AT ALL, my boyfriend can't feel it during sex, and I have no serious side effects. The first two days, I did experience slight stomach aches but that went away so quickly. The only thing I've noticed is I am wetter during sex and a slight increase in discharge, but nothing major and nothing I feel worthy of complaint. Obviously, different birth controls are different for everyone but I highly recommend giving Annovera a try. Not having to take the pill every day is a GODSEND. I love Annovera so far, but if anything goes bad down the road, I will update my review."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "I’ve been on Annovera for 3 months and it’s the best BC I’ve used. I had a Mirena IUD which gave me severe breakthrough bleeding for a year, then I switched to the pill where I had breakthrough bleeding for a few months, but it eventually stopped. I switched to Annovera because of the negative effect the pill had on my mood, and the annoyance of taking it every day. I’ve seen a huge improvement and would say I’m back to myself, and NO breakthrough bleeding either! (Tip: When changing BC it’s been helpful to have a full period, then start the new birth control the last day of your period/day after.) The cons I’ve noticed is reduced sex drive, and also slight vaginal dryness (this can be fixed with lube though). My partner and I don’t feel the ring at all during sex, although sometimes I do choose to take it out as removing it does help the natural lubrication to flow (sorry TMI). During the first 1-2 months, I sometimes felt cramping/discomfort but this did go away."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "As someone who stopped using birth control pills, took out my IUD, and stopped using Nuvaring after one week, I LOVE Annovera. Seriously. I stopped using birth control pills (Junel Fe) after 3 years because it gave me severe depression and began to make me dry to the point where sex wasn't possible without reapplying lube. I was only 18 thinking that I was going through early menopause or thinking I had a problem. It wasn't me, it was the birth control! Annovera is the best decision I have made for birth control. No depression, no dryness, no irritation. It even made me more wet, which is a plus. The fact that it's long term is nice, and neither me or my partners feel it in there. The only downside is that for some, it can be a little difficult to put in at first because it's so soft and round, but that's the only negative. Annovera is worth it. Try it out! (BTW Nuvaring caused a lot of irritation and the monthly maintenance seemed like too much)"

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "This is day one on this birth control. I had been on depo provera but I didn’t go for my last injection. I have mild spotting but it can be from the depo not this birth control. I had cramping last night into the am but it seems to have stopped. No nausea at all so far. I will give an update once I been on it a bit longer."

Annovera (ethinyl estradiol / segesterone) for Birth Control "I switched from Skyla IUD to the annovera ring. I’ll just say this is the best birth control I have ever tried, although there are two main negatives. As much as I love this birth control I do not want to use it anymore. It has flatlined my sex drive. And not just that but I almost cannot have orgasms anymore. Yes, you read correctly. It blocks the sensation inside and outside and causes dryness after many months of use. It feels numb inside and tender too. This ring should be used as a castration device for pedos and rapists. It kills sex drive and sensations almost entirely. I had read another review that mentioned this. It is affecting my marriage. I have had no other side effects from this besides total loss of libido and sensations. I am heartbroken to have to let go of this birth control ring. If you don’t mind those negatives go for it. The hormone dosage is still very tolerable."
