"I have been on this for 2.5 months now and before this I had the paraguard and I had terrible periods and I would get terrible cramps anytime I was bloated and now I don't have any of those side effects and I am feeling pretty much like myself on this pill. My moods are pretty even, I do get some brown spotting on and off again and I am hoping with longer use it will subside. I am continuously cycling and it might just take a while for my body to get used to it. I can become anaemic easily so its nice having the iron pills hand with this bc. If it is affecting my mood, its making me a little more selfish and thinking of myself more and to put myself first which is actually helpful for figuring out exactly what I want to do with my life"

"I’ve been on Tarina Fe for 6 months and have no complaints! I honestly love it as far as birth controls go. I haven’t noticed any mood, weight or acne changes. I am generally hungrier throughout the day but that’s totally manageable. One complaint is that my periods are weird, not really super bloody (sorry if that’s TMI), and they only last 2-3 days. It’s kind of strange but they’re completely pain free, unlike my periods before being on birth control."

"While I'm sure this pill prevents pregnancy, I stopped taking it two days ago because a week into my first pack I started bleeding heavily. Was almost done with the 2nd week and it has yet to stop. I also developed what seems like a yeast infection but worse! I can usually treat a yeast infection in a couple days with garlic clove and plain yogurt no problem but I'm still in hell thanks to Tarina Fe."

"I've been taking this birth control for quite awhile now and my body has gotten used to it. The first few months I experienced mood swings and brown spotting but other than that it works quite well. No pregnancies so far."

"While beginning it the first two months I was extremely nauseous 24/7, little acne here and there. Jump over to a year and a half everything levelled out and regulated. The thing is this pill has turned me into a complete cry baby or an emotionally detached angry rager, when I say there's no in between there really isn't. It's either a hit and miss I've gotten so much more angrier in the process of taking it. Just made me really emotional. As well as always spotting 2- 6 days before I even start my period."

"I have irregular periods and can go months without them. I'd been suffering from a lengthy period starting the pills. At first they stopped it for the first few days of the first week. But then the bleeding only came right back and 10 times worse and I'm half way through the month and I can't take this. I wanna just stop taking this. But I don't know what to do. This made me way to emotional. My stomach feels like it's being stabbed. I don't truly ever get cramps but I want to cry -3 weeks added onto this means my periods is over a month. I honestly just want to cry . I'm in so much pain."

"The first week into taking this pill, I got the yeast infection side effect and I've never had one before. It made me way more emotional and sensitive to drama. My boyfriend doesn't even think I'm acting like the same person before I started taking the pill. Not only this but it makes me really hungry even when I feel full, I just crave eating more food. It also caused my acne to get worse within the first week. I stopped taking it after the first week so then I had the worst period in my whole life. I'm 18 and I rarely had any sort of painful cramps and for the past 4 months I've had cramps that are so painful it feels like I'm giving birth and having painful contractions. Taking this pill was the worst mistake I've ever made!"

"An Update from March's review. I stopped taking Tarina on April 3rd. Since then I have dropped 10 pounds, my mood and outlook on life has improved. My body shape! I didn't even realize how different my body shape was while taking the pill was. My body shape has returned to how it used to be. My body shape on the pill was extremely "hormonal" a lot of stomach bumps and flabs, I chalked up to weight gain. But I could not understand why I went from an hourglass not taking the pill and then on the pill an apple, now I'm back to an hourglass...just more "sand" from when I was last an hourglass shape. However, we are working on that. I am dropping weight more consistently now. I am glad I made the decision to stop taking this pill. I am now using Paragard and so far I am happy. I do NOT believe that taking the pill has no effect on weight gain and body type change. I will never go back to using hormonal birth control. I just believe they are trying to push an agenda."

"I’m 20 and I’m on my second pack of this pill Tarina, just started the third row. Ever since I started this pack, my acne has become VERY bad. My jaw is full of acne and there’s some above it on my lower cheeks. I’m happy that we’re being advised to stay indoors because I would be so embarrassed if people saw me this way. HOWEVER, I started taking this because of cramps and this pill made my last period a breeze. I didn’t even have to take any pain relievers(!!!)"

"I was prescribed this birth control Tarina Fe 1/20 after giving birth to my daughter (I was taking Sprintec before pregnancy). I am not a fan of Tarina Fe 1/20, side effects are I’ve gained significant weight, mood swings are terrible, and my period lasts longer than usual. I also have noticed that I will spot throughout the month (dark brown) and there is an increase of milky white discharge. I’d say the only plus is that it does help with menstrual cramps - I can’t feel a thing and it has cleared my skin. I’ll be taking this for another few months before asking my doctor to switch me back to Sprintec."

"If you already have a lot of personality, this pill probably isn't for you. Mood switches were very common. I'm talking 0 to mega alpha psychotic in oscillations. Taking it at night had a caffeine-like effect. Cramping during the beginning of my cycle was almost negligent. Appetite was ravenous then leveled off towards the end of the pack. Libido was slightly decreased as well as slight vaginal dryness."

"I've gained twenty lbs in 5 months while taking this pill. None of my friends have gained as much weight as I have but I did notice they did gain a lil bit of weight. Everyone's body is the same but after 5 months of being on this pill I am getting off of it because of the weight gain."

"My experience on the pill is going okay I'm on my 3rd pack no bleeding, just spotted for a hour I get cramps when it's time for my period to come I notice I became more emotional lately I fee like crying a lot, when someone tells me something I get really sensitive, my boobs get sore and they have gone up in cup size, I get acne when it's time for my period but that's it, my hunger has been the same, when it's that time I crave fried foods. I like the pill just wish I wasn't so emotional, my sex drive it's awesome. Hopefully I will get my a irregular period."

"I tried two other pills (that were higher estrogen) and the patch prior to taking this pill, and I have to say this one is much better. I used to get horrible nausea, low sex drive, uncontrollable mood swings, and weight gain on the other pills and I have not experienced this with Tarina Fe! I have been on this pill for a month now so I am just finishing my first pack. I am taking it for pregnancy prevention, minor acne, painful periods and horrible pms, as well as flare ups from a painful bladder syndrome I have called interstitial cystitis. So far it has made a significant difference in helping all these things, and the only bad symptoms I experienced that I can deal with are tender breasts, water retention, minor headaches, worsened anxiety and low moods tend to feel lower. I also noticed a decrease in appetite but it was only at the very beginning. Again it is only the first month so I expect these symptoms to just lessen as I continue taking the pill."

"Been on this pill for almost a year and it has been a rocky experience. My periods are always irregular and I feel like I never stop bleeding. I’ve been taking it on time for the most part and regardless it just didn’t get any better. I have to switch. I’m seeing my doctor this week to change! I’m just not adjusting to it very well, at all."

"Tarina Fe 1/20 is the first brand of birth control I've tried. I didn't have any of the common side effects-no nausea, no weight gain, no headaches. However, my period has been out of control. Before getting on Tarina, my period would last 3-4 days, with some severe cramping and bleeding the first day, then levelling off. Now, I get a period the week BEFORE the sugar pills, lasting the whole week. Bleeding stops for the first day or two of the sugar pill, then I get to deal with another 4 or 5 days of bleeding from the sugar pill. All in all its about a 2 week long period. I'm on my 4th pack and this happens like clockwork every month. Dr switched me to a pill with higher estrogen, but may wait out my last 2 packs of tarina to see if by some miracle it regulates. Really liked the experience of having minimal side effects, but can't deal with the non stop bleeding."

"This pill Tarina FE 1/20 isn’t too bad. When I lost my health ins for awhile I started using the planned parenthood and they said this is the same as blisovi which is what I was previously using. I’ve been on this for like 8-9 months now and I haven’t noticed any weight gain or acne or anything crazy. I think my sex drive went down a little bit though? But aside from that I’m having a good experience on it. My periods are light and pretty short (like 3-4 days) and it does what it is intended to do."

"I'm in my late 20s & this past year I got switched to Tarina Fe 1/20 I noticed changes right away. My prior pill for 6 years was Junel. I believe my body was reacting through a change in active ingredients differences. I got 2 yeast infections 3 months of taking Tarina I was a long time since I had to buy Vaginal Creams to stop the itch & medications. I also feel like when I take it it just sits at the top of of my stomach & get bloated, with Junel my metabolism would actually start up that it would increase my appetite. I believe Tarina is just not working out for my body I also gain 20 pounds since the switch. My body just feels lost but I order Junel again I hope it solves all my changes. Prayers."

"It’s my second month and I don’t think I’ve had any side effects other than acne. My skin is usually pretty clear but lately I’ve been getting patches of painful pimples near my jaw area, which is what hormonal acne is. I’m hoping my body just needs to get used to it but I may try switching if it’s not gone by next month"

"So I'm coming up on like 8 months, it's the same medicine I had before just the color of the pill changed, one thing I don't like about this that I have bad periods that last way longer than usual and cramps they are bad, but on the plus sign...no weight gain, no acne this probably is the best birth I have ever had..."

"I was specifically put on this kind because the other kinds of birth control gave me severe mood swings. This helped with that. HOWEVER it made my period come a week before the placebo pills every single month. Not only that but it made my cramps absolutely awful."

"I would give this a zero if possible. This is the first birth control pill I have ever taken and I started it a year and a half ago after about 10 months of use I started to get stabbing pains in my abdomen and back that would last for hours and usually was accompanied by me throwing up. Fast forward to today and I believe it is the cause of my gallstones! The listed side effects of birth control are gallstones so be very careful and just get an IUD which is hormone-free! Seriously it's not worth developing gallstones then having surgery to get your gallbladder removed!"

"I've been on this bc for 2.5 months now and I hate it. At first it was the acne all around my eyes and forehead, and the abdominal pains constantly. Then in the second month the bleeding never stopped, I wouldn't call it spotting because it was more than that. Sometimes heavy bleeding for a random day, sometimes a glob and I've passed a couple clots. I came on here looking if I was crazy or if it was the Bc because my mood is out of control. I'm anxious, sad, depressed, I don't feel like myself anymore. My sex drive is non existent and the vaginal dryness is unbearable. It's good to know I'm not crazy hopefully I can switch and relieve myself of these side effects"

"on my 3rd month and the acne caused by this pill still havent gone away. when I started this pill I broke out like CRAZY. I had HUNDREDS of pimples the day after starting. most of them have cleared but now instead of a bunch of tiny red pimples, I get big painful cyctic ones. I stayed with it because everyone told me I had to give my body time to adjust, but it doesn't seem to be doing better. The 2nd month on the pill I had HORRIBLE stomach pains. It was awful. I was puking every other day from the pain, not nausea. As a BC its great idk if its worth the acne tho.. my skin is so scarred."
