"I've been on Vagifem for years for post menopausal vaginal dryness. Worked great. Yuvafem causes ugly glop of yellow discharge about a day after applied, lasting a day or so. It seems to dispense itself all at once. Vagifem is much more uniform and graceful about its effects."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I agree packaging is horrible, the last pack I opened every pill was out of the applicator. I don’t believe it is identical to vagifem, but my symptoms are still under control after 4 months of using this product."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I did well on vagifem. Now on Yuvafem the itching is ridiculous. It does help the vaginitis smell but I am itching like mad! I thought I wasn’t doing it regularly enough or too much so I tried both for a month each. Now I am calling the doctor to cancel this prescription. I can’t afford vagifem right now but THIS ISN'T WORKING. And yeah, the pills all fall out of the applicator and don’t seem to dissolve well. Plus so much environmental waste!!"

For Atrophic Vaginitis "What is with the disposable applicators? I'm a grown woman and can handle pushing a pill inside my own vagina. What I can't handle is throwing so much plastic straight into a landfill. Vaginas don't have to be uber-sterile. I can't justify so much waste, so even if this stuff works well, I'll have to try something else. I guess the cream has a reusable applicator?"

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Used Vagifem for many years, then the BIG SWITCH! Yuvafem is awful! I agree about the packaging being non-user friendly, but I learned to deal with it. The main issue for me is how much this product makes me smell "down there." Such a strong, pungent odor - ugh! Itching is a problem also. From now on, I will be paying the increased $$ for Vagifem - worth it to me, even though I resent this extreme increase the ins. companies are making us pay!"

For Atrophic Vaginitis "The packaging is too much. Too much foil that rips and cut your fingers when you’re trying to tear one of the applicators off, which does not come off evenly ever. On at least two occasions there was no tablet in the applicator, therefore useless. One time the applicator didn’t have a plunger and I could not get the tablet out to insert it manually. Never ever had any of these issues with Vagifem."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Absolutely hate the packaging. Vagifem's was so much better. I need scissors to cut the applicators apart, versus just tearing with Vagifem. Two times in 2 weeks the tablets were found stuck to my slippers or pj bottoms because they fell out. What a crappy packaging method and applicator issue that would be so easy for them to correct! As far as effectiveness goes, I see no difference between this drug and Vagifem, but I still wish I could use Vagifem - too expensive though."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "As is the story for most women here, Yuvafem was prescribed as the generic choice for Vagifem. I had used Vagifem in the past and has no issues. It worked wonderfully. Getting a new prescription from a new Dr. the system automatically defaulted to generic and I received Yuvafem. Day 1-2 I had some lower back pain, by day 3 I had urine retention (as if my bladder and urethra were constricted) and a full blown UTI. It was awful. Thankfully I had Antibiotics on hand. Called the pharmacy and immediately had them override the change in product to Vagifem. The Pharmacist also stated that many women complained about the side effects of Yuvafem."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I took Vagifem for several years before Yuvafem was released. The Vagifem significantly improved my dryness issues. I then switched to Yuvafem and, in less than two months I developed swelling in my vaginal wall. The swelling caused constant pressure on my bladder, constant pain and intermittent incontinence. It took nearly two months to resolve. I will never use this medication again! I am currently searching for a Medicare Part D plan, as I am nearing 65, and have been very disappointed to discover that Medicare does not cover Vagifem. I am also disappointed to see that some Part D plans only cover the Yuvafem generic option. I tried the other generic option and found it to be more irritating than Vagifem but not the nightmare that was Yuvafem."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "Used Vagifem for many years=excellent product. Insurance then switched to Yuvafem=obvious cheaper packaging & lesser quality applicator, but still effective medication for me. Then insurance switched me to Teva=nightmare of product to use due to defective applicator. Now insurance has switched back to Yuvafem, but now pharmacy has been telling me for 3 months that company says out if stock. !!!"

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I had fallopian tube cancer and after a hysterectomy, chemo and radiation had terrible vaginal burning. Yuvafem seems to help, but the applicator upon insertion causes cuts and causes bleeding (which in my case causes quite a scare. My gynecological oncologist told me to insert it by hand. This is an extremely expensive drug. Couldn't it be made without the applicator to cut costs for those of us who can not use the applicator as long as the instructions included proper hygiene?"

For Atrophic Vaginitis "In the beginning I had repeated UTI's. One dr suggested it might be menopause systems. I went to the gynecologist and she gave me Imvexxy first. It did not help. I still had the terrible burning, so she switched me to the Yuvafem. I've been taking it for a couple of months now. I don't really like the applicator, it hurts. If you use lubricant it will go in easier. sometimes I have no symptoms at all. But for what ever reason they will come back, not as bad but its there. I have to use replens moisturizer on those days. I never tried the other, my insurance will only pay for the Yuvafem even though I was written a script for the name brand and not Yuvafem. I have not had any joint pain or discharge. If the insert is not inserted all the way up to plunger that you push in ,the pill will come out. I only had the pill fall out once. I knew I had not put it all the way in. So far that is the only one I have found."

For Atrophic Vaginitis "I've only been on this for 1 and 1/2 weeks, but my vaginitis and polyuria have literally stopped! Hoping it continues. I was on HRT for years. Rather nervous about this, but nothing else worked for vaginal and Urinary issues. I don't like the wasteful packaging. All of those small applicators in a landfill is pointless. Why is the medical field so irresponsible with waste?! Women have kids and periods monthly and complain about inserting a little pill? Come on..."
