Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "My OB-Gyn prescribed Intrarosa because my blood panel showed that I had a very low testosterone level due to being post menopausal. My doctor claimed that this drug should be able help me with my post menopausal symptoms. I had reported having a low libido, weight gain, tiredness, mild depression and anxiety. He told me that it would take 3-4 weeks to see any changes and/or effects being produced by this drug. I found that after a month of taking Intrarosa, I was even more exhausted than before. My libido didn't increase one bit, I gained ten pounds and my depression and anxiety was exacerbated. I hope this drug has been able to help others. I did not help me."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I started taking Intrarosa because my gyn told me my vaginal wall was so thin. I've been on oral estrogens for many years after a complete hysterectomy at age 32 but the vaginal dryness and atrophy has been a problem no matter what the dosage. Intrarosa has solved this problem AND I was surprised to notice that, after a few months of using it, I no longer leak urine when I cough or sneeze unless my bladder is completely full. Even then it's much less than before. There are two things I don't like. One is that I feel like it's gushing out of me after a few hours. Since my uterus and cervix have been removed there's no other place for it to go. So I sometimes cut them in half. Also, it's very expensive."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I was using Vagifem but could not take at therapeutic dose because I would get severe bladder spasms and cramping. My NP prescribed Introsa instead. Vaginal dryness gone and sexual response has increased. It’s a little messy and cumbersome to remember to use everyday. But, overall I am happy and my partner and I enjoyed not having to use lubricants for the first time in years."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I am a 25 year old female who has been on hormonal birth control pills for 8 years. After months & months of painful, stabbing intercourse I found my doctor who diagnosed me with vaginal atrophy due to the birth control pills. She prescribed me Intrarosa nightly along with topical testosterone and dilator treatment. Intrarosa is AMAZING. After a year of anguish, I am having normal intimacy again with continual Intrarosa use. When I stop using it and use it again, I notice that I am more arousable and even have dreams about sex. I would absolutely recommend this drug for anyone who struggles with painful intercourse. Anything you put in your vagina will leak out; put a towel underneath you after insertion. Also, check out to get a coupon online with an RX #, your first prescription of intrarosa is free and every following prescription should be $25. "

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "After about 3 months use of Intrarosa I felt I was having positive benefits with improvement of vaginal tissue. After that I began to have terrible hot flashes (which were previously very infrequent and mild), I felt agitated and had an episode of crying that I could not control. Around 6 months use my blood pressure (which was never a problem) suddenly spiked to a dangerous level and I ended up in the hospital. I discontinued using Intrarosa. Lots of tests later and the Dr's cannot say definitively that my problems were directly related to Intrarosa. I think they were as all the symptoms have gone a way, my hot flashes are back to 'normal' and I feel like myself again. I'm now using coconut oil for lubrication and so far so good ; )"

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "At first Intrarosa worked. I was thrilled. Too many UTI episodes and could not sit or walk. I was IN pain . So gyno said give it a try. Then I began to lose hair, get moody and began to burn, so I thought what is the point of this? I stopped then tried again. I had the same burning. Stopped tried again same burning. I think drugs affect everyone differently and we have a lot going ON down there. It's NOT just one thing. Ot's complicated. So sadly it did not work for me. I am going to order something else to see if that will help. And with MIGRAINES I have to be SO careful ."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I’m 55 and started Intrarosa and before that had been on Yuvfem tabs for severe atrophy, painful sex. Back in Nov 2017 - Feb 2018 I was miserable with CONSTANT UTI’s from so much discharge. I was constantly at gyno and Urologist who said, It is your vagina reacting to the Intrarosa. I was on Yuvefem for 6 months prior and had no issues. Intrarosa just leaks out IRRATES my bladder. I stopped in Feb. And, because the Yuvefem is not fully taking care of my servere atrophy I decided to try the Mona Lisa Laser treatment (vaginal laser treatment), ended up a nightmare. The laser was set too high for my thin vag walls and burnt a hole thru my vag wall. I ended up hemorrhaging and ended up bleeding profusely for 7 hrs straight in the hospital while they tried to figure it out. After that they plugged up the hole in my vaginal wall with something like a bandaid. I found it would not heal after 6 wks and needed minor surgery under a General to recut the lesion and resew back healthy tissue. I'm back to square one using Yuvefem twice a week and still have issue."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "About 30 minutes after the first insertion of Intrarosa, I started having menstrual-like cramps until I fell asleep. I am 53 years old, post menopausal, partial hysterectomy age 28, so I haven't had cramps in 20 years. Day two, I was experiencing discomfort in pelvic area internally. Went ahead and used it again the second night. By day three, I could hardly press on my lower pelvic region because it hurt so bad. I never had any discharge. Very disappointed. I decided to discontinue use immediately."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "Previously posted after 2 days of usage (on 2020-09-06) and thought this was working great. Have since experienced headaches, stomach aches including heartburn & severe belching, hot flushes, and insomnia. These symptoms come on immediately upon insertion and slowly resolve by morning so it's clearly the effects of the DHEA. I thought it would only act locally on the vulva and vaginal tissue but that's clearly not the case. I have stopped using."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "After only 3 applications I am having bladder urgency all night long. Have to pee every one-two hours throughout the night and can't sleep. Tried it once, took a break for several days (the urgency went away), tried it again two nights and the urgency is already back. Not worth it."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "Intrarosa helped in that it made sex a "bit" less painful, but I am having significant hair loss and irritability. The residue did stain my pajamas but oxyclean spray got them out. I started noticing a darkness around my pelvic area on my legs. Today I noticed odd dark SPOTS on the top of my legs in my groin area. What is this? I have experienced weight gain, irritability, bloating, gas, major hair loss and weird discolored spots in my groin area. I am so thankful to all the women whom have shared their experiences. I was really troubled by the hair loss especially."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I am 58 yrs old and have only been using Intrarosa for 1 month (for very painful intercourse). Super simple to use and no side effects of any sort thus far. Quick and simple to use each nite. The only complaint I have is the oily discharge. The suppository is a small waxy insert. You do need to insert it as far up as possible to reduce the “run off” while sleeping. I do have to wear a small pantyliner each nite which works well, during the day I don’t need one. I don’t think this is a big deal. I find it a very minor inconvenience. I’m only giving it a 6 thus far because I have not experienced any difference yet. Hoping to see some results within the next month. I guess it can take up to 3 mths but hoping for results before then. So far I really love the simplicity of the product.... not much mess, no measuring, no anything.... just insert and your done!"

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "My gyn suggested Intrarosa for vaginal dryness and painful intercourse. I stopped it after 5 weeks as I knew my fibroid had grown. Online I found (a) Intrarosa manufacturers excluded women with fibroids from their trial, (b) European Medicines Agency and Electronic Medicines Compendium in UK in their publications on Intrarosa list fibroids as the first condition that may be aggravated and needs to be closely supervised, and (c) There are lots of warnings online to not take DHEA if you have fibroids. My gyn did not think Intrarosa caused this, ordered tests, and urged me to have a hysterectomy - there is always a chance of cancer in a woman ‘of my age’ (most women on Intrarosa). She referred me to an oncologist who agreed. I am now recovering from a full hysterectomy. The pathology report showed no malignancy. I assume this was all caused by a few weeks on Intrarosa. I urge you to read warnings in the EU and UK Intrarosa documents and online about DHEA."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I ran a couple of tests just to make sure this particular drug was actually the culprit to my symptoms and yes, in fact it was...I would use Intrarosa for a about 4 to 5 days consecutively and by the 5th day I would start to get flu like symptoms, extreme fatigue, feeling like I wanted to pass out, dizziness, dry mouth, and full out panic attacks - mine are NES (non-epileptic seizures) and this drug triggered one on the 5th day of using this it. I also found it quite messy as the waxy suppository melted down and out. I don't feel Intrarosa performed as well as other Rx I have been prescribed. Not a good experience at all...I will no longer be using intrarosa."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "When I was on IntrarosaI had the same issue as reported by another patient; mood swings. After 4 months they were severe - crying and raging within moments of each other. I'm a 60 year old, stable business woman and this is highly unusual for me. During this time I also experienced fatigue. I stopped using this medication. I am happy to report that I feel much better."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I came off Intrarosa 3 months ago, and I’m feeling more like me, on a REALLY good day, most of the time. I didn’t realise how irritable and miserable it had made me. I was so desperate to find something to help that I persevered for 8 months (I’d already been on Vagifem for 18 months, without any significant changes). I decided to stop, have a break and start again. Since stopping it, I’ve realised that it didn’t help with the pain one little bit and turned my desires completely off. Now my libido is much better, there is still discomfort on penetration, but it doesn’t feel as sore during, and I enjoy sex a bit more nowadays (instead of wishing it would end). I do use a lot more water based lube than ever before (from Yes Yes Yes) which really helps. I’m in a much better place emotionally without Intrarosa(and Vagifem) and my husband agrees. Intrarosa definitely didn’t work for me. (I’m 56, had a total hysterectomy 10 years ago, and use Oestrogel HRT)."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "My gynecologist prescribed intrarosa for painful sex. I am 54 years old and in perimenopause. I also have bladder leakage and urgency. Started this med and had problem with opening package. Once inserted had oily substance ruin underwear. My hot flashes and night sweats got worse while using and began raging and angry thoughts. Was on it for a week but taking this was not worth how bad I felt physically. Will look for a more natural medicine."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "Losing my sex drive was like losing a part of my personality. I was on estriodol, progesterone plus a compounded testosterone/estrogen creme. Better menopause symptoms (mood, brain fog) but desire was low and sex increasingly painful and stressful. One week n intrarosa, and I jumped my husband and enjoyed a ridiculous number of Orgasms. I’m BACK! My husband is planning on sending flowers to my Obgyn."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "I was suffering from burning and took Intrarosa 6.5mg inserts for 1 & 1/2 months. It took about two weeks, and worked. Every time you pee there is oil in the bowl and you have to wear a pad to save your underwear. To me that was minor because I no longer burned. I will, however, have to find another solution. I am no longer My "happy, joyful, energetic, spirited" self. I feel flat, sometimes even bad yuck?! My boyfriend keeps telling me I'm not myself. For the emotional effect it has had on me I hope I can find a better solution."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "Been on Intrarosa for 6 months after 3 years of fighting recurring UTI's and vaginal dryness. Happy to say UTI's are now less of an issue but have experienced the blahs emotionally and some palpitations. Also today I woke up with a red inflamed breast. I am 66 and had my routine mammograms but this freaks me out a bit. Will see Dr tomorrow. Not sure if I will continue or not. No history of breast cancer in family so not considered an excluded patients. Nothing on website indicates breast sensitivity..... wondering if anyone else has had this issue ?"

I feel normal again. No painful sex. I'm wondering, though, why so difficult to open the packaging. The insert breaks in half almost every time."

Intrarosa (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dyspareunia "Yes it worked but after only 10 days, I was experiencing sore breasts, acne, mild hot flashes, etc. And jitters. I cut back to once every other day and that did not really help. I switched to Replens which is working fine and no side effects (and less mess). I also became nervous about the long-term effects of this drug. The clinical trials were very small and it hasn't been in use for very long. And finally - all that damned plastic! A new applicator every time? Why? With replens, you just wash it in soapy water and let it dry."

DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone) for Dietary Supplementation "I take DHEA to control my blood pressure. Calcium-Magnesium citrate 1:1 ratio brings it down 30 points but it only stays down 2 hours without DHEA, which causes it to stay down all day. DhEA also cures low blood sugar/panic for me in 15 min. (Low blood sugar causes a panic attack...same symptoms). I have taken it for above for 10 years, it works reliably. I have severe allergies and I am now discovering that taking extra DHEA during allergy attacks helps lessen the attack. I do not have asthma or anaphylactic issues but I do have bad hayfever and arthritis (joint allergy). I have not tried it yet for joint pain upon exertion (like raking 90 bags of leaves in the fall) but it helps significantly on the hayfever front. I am 60 years old."
