Plavix (clopidogrel) for Peripheral Arterial Disease "Lots of bruising and bleeding. The worst part now is hives every day only on one side of my body. It didn’t do anything to help after stents. My legs both got worse after surgery and plavix didn’t stop the stents from clogging up. I keep taking it until I see my PCP next week to see what to do. Vascular surgeon isn’t much help."

Plavix (clopidogrel) for Heart Attack "It was 2 1/2 years now and 14 total stents, Just had my last 3 placed 2 weeks ago. Been on Plavix from the first one, this medicine they say is what is keeping me alive, I am 42 a smoker, and trying to change everything. I feel like I have 3 to 4 heart attacks a day. If not for this medicine I would not be here. Not sure if any real side effects due to my health and other medicines so I feel it has saved my life."

Plavix (clopidogrel) for Heart Attack "Had a heart attack and angioplasty in 1992. I’ve been on aspirin since then and combined with Plavix in 1997. The artery they opened has long since totally closed. Colateral blood vessels give me good flow around 100 percent occlusion. I’m actually doing fantastic physically. Biking, hiking and before that basketball. Every doctor, and I’ve seen a few over the years, said they will never take me off either Plavix or aspirin."

Plavix (clopidogrel) for Transient Ischemic Attack "After 2 Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA’s) one hospital stay for 3 days. I was prescribed Plavix. I had an anaphylactic shock reaction. The next day comments from the nurses wow I have never seen such a bad reaction and the physicians apologizing the following day for giving me plavix. First time a physician has apologized I realized how bad my reaction had been. IF you have any drug sensitivities I would choose something else first."

Plavix (clopidogrel) "I was prescribed Plavix as a precautionary measure after a aortic heart valve replacement. I was doing great, sent home with several meds as a standard precaution. Within a few days I started feeling like I was having a heart attack all day long and it progressively got worse over the next 2 weeks. Stopped each medication one at a time and it was the Plavix which caused it. Doctor tried me on Brilinta and was even worse. Took me off the 2 meds but Baby aspirin now I'm back to normal within 3-4 days."

Plavix (clopidogrel) "I believe Plavix caused me anemia after less than 3 months. No bleeding, inside or out (confirmed by colonoscopy and endoscopy) but severely lowered Fe, Hb, hct levels. Started taking iron; in 15 days anemia disappeared and ENERGY returned in abundance. "

For Heart Attack "My father experienced TIA symptoms, taste disturbance, severe weight loss, nausea, pins and needles, speech difficulties and a few hallucinations or visual disturbances over the first eight days of taking clopidogrel with repeated admissions to hospital. He was treated as if he had a TIA although no evidence for it and removed from clopidogrel for ten days during which all symptoms ceased and he returned to normal. He then resumed clopidogrel and the symptoms returned but after a couple of weeks he went into an increasing decline with pain radiating from his lower back, depression, increasing frequency of visual disturbance constipation lethargy, confusion. He was taken off clopidogrel after five weeks and all pain, loss of appetite etc left"

Plavix (clopidogrel) for Ischemic Stroke "I’m not having any luck with Plavix! Was prescribed it and a baby aspirin after having a mini stroke. Had nose bleeds right off. Doctor said drop the aspirin. I did but still had nose bleeds! Started taking Plavix every other day and now I woke up at 4am with excruciating upper stomach pain! I’m done with it. I’ll try the aspirin but done with Plavix!"

For Transient Ischemic Attack "I’ve been prescribed Clopidogrel for a suspected TIA no evidence was found on examination or investigations. My symptoms were confined to my right eye. Since being on this med I have experienced gum bleeding when brushing teeth, loose stools, tummy ache and feel like I have influenza. I can’t function like this as I live alone. I’m persevering for a few more days (only began taking 4 days ago) to see if it eases, then will go back to my GP."

Plavix (clopidogrel) for Platelet Aggregation Inhibition "I've been taking omeprazole for quite a time prior to being prescribed Plavix but NONE of the health professionals involved in my treatment have advised me to cease the Omeprazole even though it's regarded as unwise to. This worries me and I have ceased of my own accord until I can access my GP!"

Plavix (clopidogrel) for Ischemic Stroke "I've had two strokes and multiple TIAs. After the first stroke, I could not tolerate it, but I was drinking alcohol (not very bright). I stopped drinking, and then had a brain stem stroke and am on this forever, along with a baby aspirin. It's possible they'll add another blood thinner for periods of a flutter, but that's to be determined. I am tolerating it well, although I bruise easily, and am very happy with my regimen."

Plavix (clopidogrel) for Ischemic Stroke "In 2010 I had a moderate (ha ha) stroke that was eventually attribute to a newly discovered PFO. Was put on aspirin first, then warfarin after some odd neurological symptoms a couple of months later. Hated it. Four months later was enrolled in a study of PFO closure and streamed into the medical arm, meaning plavix. Been on it since. Had a couple of minor neurological symptoms along the way (global amnesia) but otherwise have do e well, live normally and no complaints. Now age 65."

For Acute Coronary Syndrome "Heart attack on 6th December, 5 days in coronary ward. Given this drug and after a month I developed painful joints, wheezing in chest, shallow breathing at night, racing heart beat, Itchy flaky skin on right foot. Red spots and swelling, moving up to just below the knee. Told DR It was medication related. Doctor gave me a course of fluclox antibiotics, thinking it was an infection / cellulitis. Didn't touch it! Yesterday forgot to take meds in morning, foot felt better, less itchy. Took meds around 7pm, rash started itching again, skin cracking and sore. Using raw coconut oil to soften skin and provide anti-inflammatory relief, which is working well. Tried steroid cream, had to wash it off as increased rash and more painful. Today decided to stop using clobidogrel. Lower leg feels less itchy. Hope this helps someone else."

For Heart Attack "This medication has been nothing but a problem for me. I have nose bleeds 5 plus times a day and spend hours a day making them stop. I feel as though I am starting to have arthritis in my hands from applying pressure. I am 33 years old and was a marathon runner then a blocked artery but an end to that and introduced me to this nightmare medication called "PLAVIX" I think the best gift I have ever received was my doctor telling me to take half a dose a day. However when they found out I was happy and nose bleed free they said maybe I should be on a full dose. This medication makes me feel like I am a 400 pound 85 year old man. My blood even turned pink and one point. Overall still on this medication because of doctors order but do not like it."

For Percutaneous Coronary Intervention "I have been taking the generic for Plavix. I was taking the pill APO CL75 manufactured by Apotex with our any problem. My druggist on my last prescription filled my generic for Plavix with the pill R 196 manufactured by Dr. Reddy's Laboratory. After the switch I have experienced ankle swelling. I do not know but highly suspect that this last pill is causing the swelling and wonder if this pill is the same. Interesting!"

Plavix (clopidogrel) for Transient Ischemic Attack "After my VAD Stroke I am on plavix. I have a toddler that I still nurse. I looked up plavix for several days & talked to several doctors. Some said it was fine, some said it was not ok. After talking to so many people about it, I felt that it seemed ok to nurse on. I've been on it for a month and yesterday I realized that my 2yo is constipated. We are weaning ASAP now because I don't know what else it's doing to him, but it's definitely getting through. I just wanted to post this somewhere for other nursing moms to see. We are currently only nursing 2 times a day right now."

Plavix (clopidogrel) for Ischemic Stroke "I had a series of TIAs which led to the discovery of an atrial septal defect. I was placed on Plavix 75mg once per day. At first, it was hard to discern if the medication made me feel bad or the condition, but I experienced fatigue that was as bad as COVID. As time went by, I left off the Plavix for a day or two and felt much better. Now I take it at night, and while I can tell that it makes me tired, the side effects are not as bad. I do not wish to have another stroke, so I feel it's worth it."
