Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I fell off my longboard and made some bad dressing decisions. After 3 days I saw a doctor who prescribed this and silver sulfadiazine. After 10 days it completely healed. Unfortunately I have had another tumble, this time with broken wrist and 10 open wounds. On it again. Trusting old Keflex to help again."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Cephalexin got rid of infection but I had horrible side effects. I took it for 4 days, at a dose of 500mg, 4 times a day. I had horrible headaches, diarrhea, major depression, eyes dry and blood shot, nausea, very tired, didn't have motivation to do anything. Anxiety, joints were on fire! Stopped a day ago and still feel awful! Won't take again because of side effects."

For Bladder Infection "On my 4th day of cephalexin for bladder infection and pee smelling worse than before meds and peeing so much. I have 4 more days left taking 3x a day so hopefully clears up. Been battling bladder infection for 2 years. This is the 3rd antibiotic I've been put on by 4 different doctors. Everyone seems to not know what to do. Very stressful and not sleeping anymore because constant getting up for bathroom. Help me"

For Kidney Infections "I am on day 2 of Keflex for a kidney infection from an untreated urinary tract infection. I am allergic to most antibiotics such as amoxicillin and erythromycin so I was hesitant to try this. I am so happy to say I have no allergic reaction and no diarrhea! I do feel some tingling sensations in my head and a tiny bit of anxiety (probably all in my head) but nothing compared to an antibiotic like Levaquin. I think I found my new go-to antibiotic!"

For Bacterial Infection "After very minor foot surgury, I was put on 500 mg Cephalexin 4 times per day for a week. After 4 days my digestive system went septic and I had to quit the medication. I seldom take even over-the-counter drugs and have never had a reaction this severe to an antibiotic before. I thought I would get back to normal after a week but after 3 more weeks my digestive system has not imporved. I have scheduled an appointment with another doctor in hopes of regaining my normal health."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Horrible medicine. My doctor prescribed me cephalexin for an infected boil that I burst & got infected. I was told to take 4 tabs 500 mg daily for 7 days I'm a lupus patient already taking plaquenil 400 mg daily. Anyways I went after 7 days the infection wasn't healed yet so my doctor told me to continue for 10 more day but when I started to continue I got a horrible rash all over my arms & neck, along with this I got continuous headaches so I stopped the medication. But the rash is still there & I'm getting blisters on my body. Thinking to go in an emergency."

For Bacterial Infection "I’m currently on my 5 th day of cephelaxin 500 mg 4X a day . I have an abscess from shaving with a dull razor and not using shaving gel, that’s what I’m thinking anyway. Anyway, this antibiotic is really messing me up. I’m anxious, paranoid around people, super irritable, I feel scared in general. My stomach is distended and I’m constipated and retaining water. I want to stop but I’m scared to. I’m going to call my dr. Thanks every one for posting about your experience. Helping Me a lot"

For Bacterial Infection "I was going through severe anxiety, heart palpitations, tachycardia, body numbness, going in and out of another world. I had new allergys, twitching when I would almost fall asleep, 21 ER visits later I found the answer. The antibiotic I was on for tooth infection caused severe ulcers all threw out my GI track, it can cause all of that. I almost had a couple heart attacks before I realized this. Here is what my treatment is consisting of, beta blockers to control the heart palpitations ( you need them or it will get bad) Ativan to control the anxiety (this too will get worse) Steroids to fix your mental state, reduce intestinal swelling, and get your immune system back on track so your allergies stop (this too will get worse) and a PPI pill to stop the stomach acid so they can heal. Also I'm waiting for a scope treatment from a Gastro Doctor. I'm hoping I can make it until then but for anybody else experiencing what I did please get it addressed ASAP, I was told by every doctor it was anxiety and even banned from a ER"

For Bacterial Infection "I suffered a urinary tract infection a week ago and went to the doctor when they prescribed me Clindamycin 300mg 3 times in 3 days and Cipro 500mg every 12 hours. I couldn't take either of them because I can't swallow big pills, and I'm afraid Cipro is a little strong for me. I get real anal when it comes to taking medicine like this, for I have a fear of side effects and haven't taken antibiotics before. I went back just the other day and switched medicines and I'm taking this, a liquid form 250mg every 6 hours in four days for 10 days. It taste really good and it smells good, looks like Pepto Bismol. I always take it with food and I have no side effects, and so far it's working great! I highly recommend any one to take this medicine that suffers urinary tract infection."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I had a staph infection in my nose so my doctor put me on a week of cephalexin, 500mg 3x daily. I was worried about GI side effects but was absolutely fine. The only side effects I noticed were very very minimal fatigue and the slightest headache that was barely noticeable. I also took a once daily probiotic with my dose in the evening just for peace of mind."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Keflex is a literal lifesaver. I get really serious skin infections that progress to cellulitis and it’s the only thing that treats them effectively with no noticeable side effects. I just had surgery and got very sick from a UTI from the catheter. I started taking keflex instead of other drugs and felt better within a day. Genuinely if you have bad side effects from other antibiotics, this is definitely worth a try."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Bladder Infection "I have been going back and forth battling a UTI for about a year. I take D-Mannose, which usually knocks it out in a day or so but the D-Mannose has been giving me weird pains in my carotids... Anyway, I decided to go get a script after waking up with severe bladder pain a few days ago. About six hours after the first dose, the pain subsided. This medication will make you nauseated if you don't take it with at least 6oz of water and a snack. No negative side effects yet! Love Keflex!"

Keflex (cephalexin) for Kidney Infections "This is an incredible medication, I regret not taking it sooner due to listening to bad reviews on this website. It is a great medication and very effective on getting rid of bacterial infections of the urinary tract, skin, even ear infection. I had only one side effect and it was slightly full stomach I did not have nausea nor did I vomit or anything of that nature. How I experienced NO discomfort. I’m not a doctor but many people including myself have used real life experience to conclude the way to use this medication with no side effects. Not telling anyone what to do but this is what I did, I ate a cup of rice before every dose so that my stomach did not become irritated and it worked. I also drank 8 oz of water with it. Lastly, 2 hours AFTER dosing I took a probiotic called Culture from CVS, it contains LGG which is a bacteria that is helpful for the gut and keeps you from having diarrhea very effective! You guys need to get this probiotic it works so well."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I have suffered with ulcers on my ankles (poor circulation) for years. Every once in a while one if not both will get infected. Legs swell and skin turns purple as well as becoming very sensitive. The ulcers feel as though hot pins are being shoved into them. Keflex always knocks out the infection within a few days."

For Bacterial Infection "I am currently using this medication to fight a staph infection. I'm not sure how I got it but it seemed to start from a bug bite of some sort. The infection was the size of a golf ball and had lightening streaks running up my arm. The doctor had to cut open my arm and clean out the pus. Well it's been about a week and the infection has cleared up. Cephalexin seemed to work very well. I have no side effects and I'm feeling great."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I had cellulitis on my lower leg. I was prescribed Cephalexin 250 mg tabs four times a day for 10 days. I saw mild relief at the end of day 2 and by day 5 the infection was on its way down (less swollen, less hot, less sensitive). I continued the medication through day 10 and it did not return. I did not have any headaches, swollen joints, etc. that others reported. I am allergic to Penicillin but do not have cross sensitivity to cephalosporins."

She prescribed cephalexin 500 mg twice daily. My sinus infection was gone within two days. I took probiotics with it the entire 10 days & after the last dose, took 2 Diflucan. It worked great for me."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "I have chronic allergies and sinus problems . I am usually put on Levaquin but , it hasn’t seemed to work anymore after the past few years . My ENT-s always like to tell me “ it’s just inflammation “ - when I am 60 years old and I know that sometimes it IS an infection. Anyway - 2 weeks ago I went to an urgent care and was seen by a kindly , older, very intelligent doctor . He mentioned Keflex , and I thought “ oh yeah , I took that 8 years ago when my first sinus infection happened and it really worked . The experienced doctor gave this , and it was AMAZING . I felt much better after the first day . I can’t believe how the so called experts don’t think this works . I had NO side effects , but I take probiotics every day no matter what . So happy that this doctor re discovered this medicine for me !"
