For Chronic Pain "Was prescribed morphine, oxycodone, and oxymorphone for several years for injury, went through a divorce and lost my insurance, my psychiatrist put me on subutex and it literally saved my life! It really helps my pain, and I have no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever! It’s a wonder medication. I’m prescribed 8mg BID if that helps."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I started Subutex treatment 1 year ago, I could not have made it this far without the subutex and my therapist. The key to this medication being successful is being 100% ready to stop using and having a healthy support system (eg. family, friends) You yourself have to WANT to stop using. Trying to stop to make others happy doesn't work, trust me I tried a few times and failed miserably. I am continuing my subutex treatment for pain management due to a severe back injury and it works very well."

For Chronic Pain "This did work for very severe back pain. It lasted for about half a year. Then I changed to 20mg oxy twice a day. These have now failed. I'm now going back to Subutex. When it works, it is very very good. Long term, no idea."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I was addicted to Heroin for almost three years. I tried everything from Suboxone to methadone to tapering and even cold turkey but Subutex was the only thing that worked. Subutex has truly saved my life."

For Opioid Use Disorder "4mg every day wipes away damn near all my withdrawal symptoms and allows me to be comfortable and live a much better life than I would without the subs. Great stuff. Recommend anyone that is stuck on opiates (heroin, oxy, shit even methadone) to give buprenorphine a chance."

For Chronic Pain "I’ve been taken Subutex for 12 years now for my back pain. I tried everything else first. Wish I started with this. It’s helped me a lot!! My pain level stays tolerable. The one thing I hate is it’s bad for your teeth. I just got bottom dentures put in because of Subutex. The other thing is Drs don’t know much about it’s effects on you after taken this long. I would like to have something for breakthrough every once in awhile but they say it wouldn’t help. It’s frustrating. Hope this helped"

For Chronic Pain "I had back surgery when I was 30 but the pain continued, and worsened. I tried every narcotic . I have a pain management doctor. Eventually after taking so many narcotics with for 5 years, my tolerance was just too high so my dr prescribed subutex. I have been using subutex for 15 years. Most of the time it works; however, there are days when the excruciating pain makes me wonder if subutex is effective. I am only 46 yrs old. I am a teacher. I have 6 children and 4 grandchildren. I need to function now more than ever as my husband decided to quit our marriage after 30 yrs. Now I have no choice but to work to provide for myself and kids. Doing any household chores, driving, standing/sitting causes severe pain. Subutex doesn’t seem to be doing the trick anymore. I’m scared that if I stop the pain will get worse. How do I get pain relief?"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I'm 26 and from Scotland and I was addicted to heroin. Luckily at the age of 17 I was told about Subutex by my councillor. I had been on a methadone prescription but was left without a chemist. So this left me back on heroin. I never liked methadone as it gave me a similar feeling of heroin the drowsiness, brain fog, bad memory, no appetite. My councilor put me on Subutex I was so gratefull she was so lovely about my situation not having a chemist she met me every day to give it at my home. Not sure if she was meant to do that but she showed belief in me. I started of at 16mg and I instantly stopped using. I've been clean for 9 years now. I receive 2mg suboxone & 4x 0.4mg Subutex daily. I hope to tapper off completely."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I have been on subutex 8mg twice a day for 15 months. I was on heroin for almost 5 years. I tried numerous times to get clean because nothing work. The Dr. Tried me on suboxone (yuck). And a lot of other things. I was at rock bottom and my sister was already on subutex so she let me try it (I know, not supposed to take anyone's medicine) but I was at the end of my rope. But I am 100% thankful I did. It gave me my life back. I made an appointment right away because it was the only thing that help me and I didn't want to be using drugs anymore. Now I have energy. I am no longer depressed. I actually have a life that I love. I don't think about using and I take subutex as prescribed. I went from homeless gutter rat to having a full time job, a beautiful house and a vehicle. No matter what you read everyone has to decide for themselves if it works for you. Me personally I couldn't have gotten my life back without it."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I have had an on/off opiate addiction for 7 years. The only reason that I maintained the addiction was fear of withdrawl symptoms. I waited 12 hours after taking an opiate before taking the Subutex. The withdrawl symptoms on the Subutex were almost non-existent. I highly recommend this for anyone who is serious about quiting."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Subutex saved my life hands down. I was an out of control opiate addict before I finally admitted my problem to my doctor. I was put on a Suboxone first, but had negative reactions to the naloxone in it (rashes and swelling). The Subutex was more effective too. I had to stop taking it cold turkey when I got pregnant and suffered some pretty rough withdrawals symptoms (nothing as bad as detoxing from oxycodone though). A few months ago I was diagnosed with a kidney stone and was prescribed opiates to treat the excruciating pain. I immediately started abusing them and found myself back in the clutches of addiction. I just got back on Subutex today. I'm so thankful for this medication. I know I can regain control of my life again!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I`ve had an on off relationship with opiates for many years now, my addictive personality has completely taken over my life and I'm out of control since my mother died but I chose to get it back by taking Subutex. I get no euphoria, I get nothing except a feeling of normality, but now I'm extremely worried reading about others experiences of trying to get off of the medicine. I did a methadone program once and tapered off, I was free from opiates for many years until quite recently, my Doctor told me the Subutex would be better and easier to get off than Methadone. I hope this is the case, I've been on the Subutex for 3 months now. At first I took 24mg a day, now I take between 12 and 16mg a day, depending on how I feel."

For Chronic Pain "My experience was not good. I had never had as much back pain and hip pain and I have experienced with subutex. 18 mg daily. For a year. Of course the dr had to make his 200 a month so he made me believe it was my weight and he insisted on me staying on it. Well, I disagree respectfully. I lost enjoyment in life. I got very depressed. Gained a lot of weight. So when they called to remind me of my appointment (like I would forget) I said “I won’t be coming back”....receptionist couldn’t believe it. 15 minutes later I get a call from the PA telling me how dangerous it was to stop. Well I jumped off of 8mg and 3 weeks later I’m free and feel great with NO PAIN. Subutex isn’t for everyone I guess. And I love being able to handle my anxiety now and get other scripts that I actually need. Consider stopping don’t let them make you afraid bc you are strong."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I had been prescribed many prescriptions over my lifetime and never got addicted to any of them EXCEPT opiates. Doctors were giving me pain medicine for various things such as surgeries, prescribing me Percocet and hydrocodone. I got in a car accident and got put on a consistent amount of pain medicine every month and my tolerance shot through the roof within a very few short months. For 2 years I was on consistent every day hydrocodone treatment and my habit reached anywhere from 250mg hydrocodone to 400mg hydrocodone per day. I was scared to try subutex, not wanting to give up my addiction, and scared it would not work. The doc prescribed me 24mg a day and it is the best decision I’ve ever made. Absolutely no withdrawal. Absolutely zero bad side effects. Subutex is a miracle drug. If you’re reading this and you’re having trouble deciding on whether to get subutex ask your doctor to let you give it a try. It’s worth every penny. I have energy and everyday on it has been great!"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I had many surgeries in the past and of course became dependent on pain pills. Well I started on Suboxone then switched to Subutex. Now 8 yrs later I'm still clean from pain pills but completely dependent on Subutex. And like any addict I took a little too much and now I'm out until my next appointment (which isn't for another week). I am so scared because after 3 days without my meds full withdrawal kicks in. I'm scared to death and don't know what to do. My suggestion is if you can kick your drugs with out meds do it, otherwise you are just trading one addiction for another."

For Chronic Pain "I have used Subutex for two years for pain and it has helped me quite a lot. I broke my upper/lower jaw when I was 15 and had arthritis in my neck and back since I was a young child. For years the pain doctors treated me with procedures and many narcotic pain medications which only relieved my pain at first, but after using It for years I had no life. My life was dependent on the pills, I lived in fear of withdrawal. I also felt extremely sick, could hardly get out of bed, and developed tons of other issues. After being off them for years, my Dr. Put me on Subutex for pain. It helps me quite well, few side effects. I would like to stop one day, terribly my young brother died while withdrawing this drug, but for now it has saved me"

For Opioid Use Disorder "So I have a pretty good dependency for pain killers, oxycodone 15mg to be exact. I was snorting about 120 to 210 mg's a day it varied from day to day. I have a buddy that had some subutex. I bought 8, 8mg pills from him and I've been slicing it in quarters and it has killed all withdrawal symptoms. I am using the subutex to come off of taking opiates since 2013. I haven't had any oxy in 4 days I think and have 4 subs left. I hope this works because I am sick of being a slave to oxy."

For Opioid Use Disorder "I started taking pain meds after having many, many operations. I was on pain meds for years, from 1996-2005. I was up to 140mg's of methadone and (5) 30 mg roxicodone for breakthrough pain a day. I was tired of taking this stuff. I got down to 5 mg's of methadone a day and quit. I was miserable! I went through serious withdrawals! I called a doc in town told him my story and he put me on subutex. That was the beginning of 2005 and I am still on it today and I never touched another pain pill since. It woks for both cravings and for pain help too. Although it is not as good as the others for pain relief it works well enough and I'm happy for it."

For Opioid Use Disorder "Self educate, self education, self educate. Learn eveything you can before starting suboxone, and make sure it's right for your situation. For people with large dose dependence it is a great tool, for people with small dose under 60-80mg oxycodone I do not recommend it, thats like killing an ant with a sledge hammer. It takes my cravings and withdrawal symptoms completely away, my use was about 150mg ocycodone a day. Yes it does have a pretty nasty withdrawal itself when stopped. It's less intense but last far longer then oxy withdrawals. Low and slow is the name of the game. Take your time on reducing dosage and go as low as possible. I was down to .0325 of a milligram when I jumped. I had low energy for about 8 weeks after stopping."

For Opiate Dependence - Maintenance "This medicine saved my life. I started on Suboxone, but I was only on it for about 2 months before I got pregnant, so the doctor switched me to this. "No, my baby didn't withdraw, APGAR score of 9 and I exclusively breastfed for 2 years." Currently, after 6 years, I'm on 8mg twice a day. I've been clean for 6 years! My doctor says I can be on it for the rest of my life possibly, but that's just fine. It's better than being a junkie and living on the street doing awful things for drugs. But if you don't want to be clean, this medicine won't work for you. You also need to do therapy and possibly mental health medications as well, this drug won't just solve your addiction problems but it makes it a LOT easier to get yourself together. The side effects are a lot less than with other opiates, and they really don't bother me at all at this point. Tip for people using this for pain, the less you use, the better pain relief you'll get. High doses are for maintenance."

For Opioid Use Disorder "It helped me to get clean and lead a productive life but I’ve been dependent on buprenorphine for twice as long as I was hooked on pain pills. I’m finally trying to come off of it after 6 long years and if I had known how hard it is to come off of it I would’ve never taken this route. I’m thankful that it helped me to lead a “normal” life but the withdrawals are so much more intense than opioids. If doctors would prescribe this medicine short term and at a low dosage it would be a perfect solution but typically they put you on the highest dose possible and suggest you stay on it for a long time. It’s really sad and it makes me angry that doctors prescribe this to people the way they do. If you need help getting off heroin or pain pills, I would recommend taking this medicine for a short time and it will work wonders! But any longer and you’ll just be trading one expensive addiction for another."

For Opioid Use Disorder "After taking pain relievers everyday for years, I would be taking them just to avoid withdrawal, I literally woke up everyday with withdrawal and even if I wanted to stop I couldn’t because I was so afraid of withdrawal. I was prescribed Subutex 8mg twice a day. I was so scared it wouldn’t work or would have bad side effects but I finally did it, I woke up with withdrawal as usual and even though I was nervous and scared I took the Subutex and it worked!! Totally stopped my withdrawal completely within a few minutes, the same or even better than if I had taken a Percocet. This is literally a miracle drug I am still amazed how well it works, absolutely zero withdrawal and absolutely zero bad side effects. I know how scared you are about going through withdrawal but with this unbelievable drug Subutex you can stop taking painkillers with no withdrawal it’s really amazing I hope this helps someone one day"

For Opioid Use Disorder "Hi guys, I been on subs for ten years now, was the only way to stop 16 years of addiction on heroin without relapsing but this drug is harder to get clean from compared to heroin. I tried for one week and was hell never never been in so much pain, my bones hurt so much felt like ants running in my blood the sweat the shivering no sleep at all. It is hell 10 times worst then heroin. If u start take subs take it only for a couple-weeks after that u can’t stop taking it. I’m reducing it now to 4 ml a day I want stop taking it as I been told the long taking of subs not good for your health. All the best for all"

For Opioid Use Disorder "I have been on Subutex for a couple of years after 25 years methadone maintenance. It was a godsend. I strongly recommend it for opiate addiction. It was also helping with severe pain due to severe osteoarthritis but not a lot. I stopped taking it at 0.4 mg two weeks ago and, apart from fatigue, am absolutely fine. It was my own idea to detox. Feeling mentally positive. Hope this helps."
