i have just used diazepam as prescribed by my doctor to discontinue the use of amitriptyline 25mg . i am presently off of this drug but can't sleep. i have been taking diazepam 2.5mg for one week now.
What dose of diazepam is recommended for sleep disorder?

i have suffered agitated depression in 2003. i requested of my doctor to be taken off two weeks ago. i am feeling fine only sleeplessness and pains in my back and neck. when i take diazepam i feel fine. How long should i continue and what dose is best?

my doctor now wants me to restart amitripyline 25mg one at nights. i don't want to restart. i am wondering if melatonin( spelling may not be correct ) is better for me.

Hello flowergirl. I would ask your doctor to put you on another benzodiazepine, but from the sleep family. Either Dalmane or Halcion, will give you a deep, restfull sleep.
