I had my teeth cleaned today and had a lot of tartar after having years of good exams.Could taking?

the powdered form of Welchol have contributed to this? I have take it for 2 months. It leaves a gritty feeling in my throat for 10 -15 minutes and a residue on the glass and mixing spoon.
