I started Contrave and as soon as I swallowed the first dose I got dizzy and felt like I was going to pass out. But as the day went on they subsided but came back again that evening. When I went to bed I was having flu like symptoms and wanted to pass out again. The next day I took another dose, one pill, and I had the same symptoms all over again. So I called the pharmacy and they said stop taking the medicine because those are severe reactions. I don’t know how cutting the pill in half would be worse for me. I think they should make a smaller mg dosage to start with for people who may be sensitive to the standard dose.
Contrave is an extended release tablet meaning the coating on the outside allows the tablet to dissolve over a period of time instead of all at once. If your crush or cut the pill in half you compromise this coating.
No, it can't be split or crushed.
