I am 73 (F). I was diagnosed MAC infection in my lung last year. I started 3 medicines regimen treatment in last Dec, i.e. Athethromycin(250mg)+Ethambutol(600mg)+Mycobutin(150mg). I have to take Synthroid(50mg) for the historic reason. After 1 mo. the lab test showed bad numbers for both lever and THS. Then I had to brake Mycobutin for about 1 mo. to recover the data. Now Mycobutin in the regimen was replaced by Rifampin (600mg) to restart at for a week. As I read that in this website the Rifampin dosage for adult TB patients are 10mg/kg, I thought, if the same rate works for my weigh(45kg) the current 600mg dosage I am taking looks like too high, espetially, with my age and conditions shown before. Thanks for anyone's help.
